It's got a point. The NBA wasn't just Bird and Magic in the 80s and wasn't just MJ in the 90s. But at the same time, the NBA build its brand around those players.
Years have come and gone with outstanding players moving from college to the WNBA, and players become stars in their own right. Yet, nothing like this year has ever happened before. What is different this year is the person who broke more college basketball records than anyone else is playing.
