@@ehwassupdoc7901 disagree. He hit the league the way Tyson hit the boxing heavyweight scene. You don’t need a decade of proof when you can shock the world.
2nd In MVP Finalist Scoring Champions Rookie of the year All nba 2nd team All nba 3rd team Or MVP 2x 2nd MVP 3x Scoring Champions Rookie of the year 2x Champion If it was Kareem first 4 years which he got 2 mvps and a championship then yeah you can say that but for me there is no way he shouldve got it. Kareems impact is more comparable to tyson tbh
if shaq took care of his health and weight, he would've been more powerful, quicker and more versatile as a player during his 30s. But shaq is shaq, he was already a legend.
It's a shame that history doesn't seem to remember prime Shaq as much as they Shaq near the end. There are very, VERY few players as good as Shaq was in his prime. He could (and did) drop a 42 point, 20 reb, 6 block game whenever he felt like it.
+MiamiHeat682 yeah Shaq was only great against scrubs and old legends. He didn't have to beat any REAL big men when he won his rings, all the real centers and all the real big men were old and retiring! Shaq wasn't dominating against Rodman or Olajuwon or Ewing! There are several videos of Shaq being held in check during clutch time by Rodman in the playoffs, Olajuwon in the Finals, and Duncan in the playoffs! Scored 1 point in overtime in the Finals against the Rockets, and he needed the refs to win against Sacramento in the 02' WCF. Smh! If he was so dominant, why couldn't he stop Olajuwon from scoring at least 30 in every game of the Finals where he was swept?! Don't say it was because he was young, because 00' Shaq was not much better or bigger than he was in 95' he just had better players and coaches and didn't have to play any real competition! Facts!
Why do people ONLY remember that one week that they played against one another? They played each other 20 times in the regular season, and Shaq won 14 of them! And in those 20 games, he averaged more points, rebounds, and assists. Also, they did face each other again in the playoffs, with Shaq winning easily, but everyone will say that "Hakeem was old"...but God forbid we use the "Shaq was young" excuse for 1995. Fact is that Shaq beat Hakeem way more than Hakeem beat Shaq, and in those games Shaq had better stats across the board. And Shaq ended his career with DOUBLE the amount of Finals appearances and championships. He had more All-NBA selections, more 1st Team All-NBA selections, more All-Star game selections, and more Finals MVP's. But he didn't he didn't beat up on prime Patrick Ewing he isn't as good??? Yikes.
You dont know shit about basketball. Shaq beat duncan and robinson in one of his championship. sabonis from portland. Smith from indiana pacers. Mutombo defensive player of the year lost to shaq in the 2001 finals. Youre a hater pendejo!!!
+Clarke Hamilton Lmao, Wilt Chamberlain? Have you seen the things he could do? He battled prime Kareem when he was 36 and still blocked some of his hook shots. He was a freak of nature. He had a very high vertical, he could run very fast, and is probably the strongest guy to play in the NBA till now. In his prime he could reach 13 feet, which is the top of the backboard. In contrast, Shaq could reach 12'5 in his prime, 7 inches lower. Wilt also had a Nowitski like fadeaway turn around jumper. He had a good hook shot, and he dominated the inside of the paint. Sure, the 80s-00s was the best era of centers, but I am very confident that Wilt would have been up there with the best of them. Honestly though, I wouldn't have been surprised if he still dominated. And don't think that the 60s-70s didn't have big men. Bill Russel, Nate Thurmond, Willis Reed, Bill Walton, etc. were all great big men who played in that era, and Wilt played them even more frequently because there were fewer teams.
+Joe Ziadan Wilt played against a bunch of 5'10 little white hobbits with 18 teams in the league then. Wilt sucked. The average bigs today like Bosh, Deandre, Stoudemire would destroy Wilt. And no I'm not a kid either. I'm 42 Russell was a joke too. Everyone called Russell a paul bunyan figure, look when Russell hands out the finals MVP trophy in 2013 to LeBron, LOL he's smaller than LeBron. Every player pre 80's was a joke. Jerry West playing today would be no better than Mike Bibby
If Kobe would have been UNSELFISH and not arrogant he would have been better, and it was because of SHAQ that kobe had those 3 rings so early in his career....
+Jeremiah Aiono If he was a workout warrior like Kobe, he'd have won 6 titles in a row with the Lakers. When he was young, he was arguably the most physically dominant player of all time. His size, strength, and durability made him such a rare talent. Had he really dedicated himself to mastering a hook shot, upping his free throw game, and keeping the weight off...we can only imagine.
+Joseph Vincent Exactly. Plus him and Kobe needed to fix their attitudes and be mature bit other than that... 6? I think 5 and then 2 after a season break.
Shaq was the most powerful, intelligent, witty, and perfectly proportioned big man in the history of the NBA. None of those things made him great. What made him great was his mean streak.
idk about all that but if Kobe and Shaq was still on the same team they could had at least 4 rings together as a team they still make a great duo in my opinion
If Shaq is as hardworker as Bryant and James or have their work ethics, He could have been on top with Jordan. I mean shaq is so talented but you can see he is one of the chillest among the players
I grew up in LA, and I fell in love with the game watching Shaq and Kobe. I still love the game, but there’s nothing since that has given me the pure joy of watching those two, especially Shaq, go to work every night.
Saw some comments on facebook about how Cousins is more agile than prime Shaq 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. Prime Shaq will have Cousins crying each matchup and on the edge of ejection each time! Prove me wrong!
Get outta here. Shaq was agile as heck and over 300. Cousins has no vertical ability and would get dunked on by Shaq all day. Even heavy Shaq had a higher vert than Cousins.
Ernie Johnson talking about him in college... And now he & Shaq are stars of the most entertaining basketball show in sports history. That gave me chills.
He could have easily injured himself badly at 2:50 , that's 300 pounds hitting the ground at a high rate of speed. If he stuck his arm out it would have snapped in half
+My Comments You know it's the sound of a flash bulb, right? Like how when people do something crazy, there are flashes going off from cameras. I mean, for someone tossing insults around, they'd definitely know it's not champagne bottles right? That kind of person would look like a real douche.
Crazy how he shot 58% his whole career, remember he stayed in the league more than he should have which hurt, also the biggest thing was he was a post player who had post moves and got his own shot. He shot such a high % because he would make a great move and instead of a hook shot he would dunk it because he was so powerful and strong and athletic. But he also had a great hook and touch around the hoop.
Shaq and Kobe side by side how amazing is that. What a journey that was. Kobe and her beautiful daughter may they both rest in love and the rest of the families who lost their lives on that tragic day.
5:40 Mom: why are you crying so damn loud? Man I wish I was born in this era. I’d give anything to be able to be alive and watch these two play together
I am subscribed to alot of highlight channels and you every single time dont dissapiont. It amazes me that I dont have to pay for this type of high quality content. Keep it up man and continue the hard work
Thanks for taking a blazer fan back to that game 7 were we were down 3-0 in that series and fought back to a 15 pt lead in game 7, really thanks for that.
What most people don't realize is those sound affects are not added, that was what it sounded like when Shaq dunked. I think the music was playing as well.
Mauricio Carmona Most dominant?!?! 1994 Swept by Indiana Pacers 3-1 first round, 1995 Swept by Rockets 4-0 Finals, 1996 Swept 4-0 by Bulls ECF, 1997 Swept by Jazz 4-0 WCF, 1999 Swept by Spurs 4-0 second round! 2004 almost swept by Pistons 4-1 Finals! Great center but not the most dominating!
Daniel D Shaq played in a weak bullshit era for big men! Oh great he beat Todd McCullough and Mutumbo for the Sixers, he beat up Kenyon Martin who's only like 6'10, he went up against old Sam Perkins and old Rik Smits and Austin Croshere! Dude I watched all this go down! Oh when he had to play a real big man or be a good defender, he got SWEPT or 1 game away from being SWEPT! He got SWEPT against Rik Smits, Olajuwon, Karl Malone, Tim Duncan! In 04' with a prime Kobe, he only gets 1 win against Ben Wallace and the 04' Pistons!! Shaq is overrated! If someone keeps him 8 ft away from the basket, he'll go scoreless!
Ved Patel I've watched Shaq his whole career. Guess what? He could never shoot, he was a weak defender, and his weight would be heavy for him late in games! If you watched Shaq in 96' you would see Rodman pushing Shaq way off the block! Rodman had 37 defensive rebounds to Shaq's 14 offensive rebounds! He owned the paint on Shaq standing only 6'7!
Wow! Mark how did he do that ( 1:28 )? Aside from a great player he also was the most powerful and influential player in NBA history. No wonder why there are a lot of people admire and love Shaquille O’Neal
Kong naa kos kaguol or ma stress inig ka kita nakos mga vedio ni shaq he make me smile again maka lingaw maka tawa ka sa pag ka komedyante. Happy birthday shaq see u soon
First time I heard about Shaq was when I started playing basketball then I started studying his moves and now I am the best centre in my team.Dont hate shaq he is my hero and I love him so much.Thank you shaq for a great life
