It's insane that Shaq was as dominant as he was despite his lack of discipline with nutrition and fitness. When Kobe said that Shaq would easily be the greatest NBA player of all time if he had that Kobe/MJ work ethic, I believe him. Shaq was superhuman. Fun fact: Armwrestling world champion Devon Laratt once armwrestled Shaq on TV years ago. He said that Shaq was the strongest non-armwrestler he's ever faced. That's a HUGE compliment coming from Devon.

That Kobe/MJ work ethic came with a certain attitude that turned off a lot of people. As respected as those 2 were, they were not liked by a lot of people. Shaq is loved by everyone. Never took himself too seriously and he seems like he has a more fulfilling life because of it. So he may not be considered the best to ever play (has to settle for top 10), but I can’t imagine he has many regrets.

What Shaq said about his Achilles injury ending his career and making him happy is a very humble statement. Shaq has big talk, and it's definitely earned, but he's smart and realistic too. Happy he's on TNT and hope that crew sticks around for a few more years, although a couple of them seem close to retirement.
