if he is directly earning from selling credit card and insurance, isnt that a direct violation of earning a distribution fees where you're taking fees from the client for the subscription. The whole advisory thing is done in the name of education for which the fees is collected and then they distribute financial products.
If SEBI is truly caring about Retail players and wants to protect them , then why it has not opened its account on various social media platforms like X, Facebook, RU-vid etc to remain in interface with retailers and listen to their woes & complaints directly. Why SEBI sounds double - standard and its policies seem tilted towards favouring big brokers & listed companies only ❓
I don't think regulations make sense, even a lot of statements from RBI chief do not make sense financially. As you pointed out, a lot of professional services are regulated (like law, medicine etc.), and if you look closely, in all those professions, due to the regulations, the services are stifled and a lot of malpractice starts happening. Not saying all kind of regulations are bad. But too much of regulation is worse in my opinion.
I am still not clear with Issue of being Finfluencer and RIA or any association which was highlighted for Sharan only. There are others such as Basant Maheshwari, Yadnya investment who have RIA licence and you tibe channel as well where talk about stocks..
