Hi All, we've covered the basics of most modules by now. The most important lesson in this chapter is to make noise from scratch. With still a few chapters to go, it's now time to focus on music production value. The Shared System may provide many hours of patching fun, but it's also a sound design heaven. In my humble opinion this is where the modular can provide a huge benefit. You can't create presets on a modular, but most PC presets are made - or inspired by - modular technology. Nothing's really new on a PC, but on a modular, chances are you'll find something that's never done before.

GAH. This is so good. Shared System is #goals. When I finally get one, I'm just gonna sit right here in front of the computer for weeks on end. SO inspiring.

Killing it bro your channel has become one of my favorites. every time you post it gives me ideas and inspiration. So many modular videos that are just demos and tutorials on how to use a module but this channel is inspiration!

Thanks for following! It's been great fun making them while during these weird times - mostly - at home.

Well Ive got something for you to try on with the rumble kick, you mult out1 on the optomix (dry kick) one copy goes to FX chain (echophone, erbe, whatever) then back into channel 2 of the optomix, and the other copy of channel 1 goes into channel 2 damp for sidechain FX, open control manually, no signal, to taste, and there you go, rumble kick on the SS.

This is very funny. For the last months or so I've been looking for the "perfect" drum machine or drum synthesis tool, you name it. Tried different things but was never quite satisfied. This tutorial tells that, in fact, the answer is right under my nose. Now I got to find the good sampler/séquencer to make it roll ( since I am not really into Ableton ...). Thanks for this. Once again.

This comment really made my day! This is the whole point of running the 'laboratory', hopefully leading to workshops and gigs :)

@@CinematicLaboratory Just wondering now if I should dive into Ableton or work all this with a Digitakt ... This vid is an eye opener !

If you’re on a Mac, the new step sequencer on Logic is 🔥

@@SouryaSen Agreed. Logic is a no brainer when you own a Mac.

@@thamelmusic You could also keep an eye on the new little BitBox micro and keep it all modular. But Digitakt will also work very well if you don't want to use a PC. Ableton has a steep learning curve so if you're on a Mac you may also consider Logic Pro X. But all I used was recording the session in Ableton, cutting snippets and dragging them into the Drum Rack where you could store 16 sounds and play them with a midi controller (or just make patterns with the mouse). It's not that hard once you know where to go.

So are making sample packs? Also have you thought making random cv sample packs? No on is doing that. Would be perfect for 1010 black box . It will echoed and play cv files. Nice way to expand a small system.

I’ve gotten some insanly Complex “noises” from the DPO. I’d never be able to repeat it but one of them literally sounded EXACTLY like a jet taking off. It’s on my IG. Than god I got a recording of it. I’ll tag u on it. We talk on FB sometimes (Roland Deschain). Get me your IG.. I prolly have it .. I’ll check
