Is there a way to update the Document Properties without having to check it out and/or add a new version? Once a document is uploaded to a project's library, it is my job to validate it. I have my own date field in the library (which I populate when I validate a document/artifact is, in fact, complete and approved). All I want to do is update my date field. It does not modify the document itself and I should not be creating a version because the SharePoint version# will then be out of sync with the detailed Revision History within the document. Also, it adds unnecessary steps to my process. I would like to be able to simply type in a date, using DataSheet or Quick Edit view, instead of having to open every document's properties and update them individually. Is this in any way possible?
