This week’s video discusses fertility challenges and treatments, which may be sensitive or triggering for some viewers. Please watch only if you feel comfortable doing so. Additionally, please note that I am sharing my personal experience and am not a medical professional.
In response to a recent follower request, this week I will be sharing my fertility journey for the first time. Although I didn't pursue IVF, my experience included significant challenges and some unexpected solutions that worked for me.
In my early 20s, I was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and low oestrogen levels, which made conception difficult. Despite various fertility treatments, Sigh and I faced multiple setbacks. However, after a recommendation from a friend I turned to acupuncture, which I believe was instrumental in leading to my first successful pregnancy.
I want to share my story to offer hope, and to encourage exploring potentially complementary treatments that may not have been considered, to those on similar paths. For anyone struggling with fertility, I encourage considering all possibilities and seeking professional advice early on.
I also want you to know you are not alone. I hope my journey provides some comfort, and please know that my inbox is open should you wish to know more about my own experience.
Love, Charlie x

An invaluable topic to discuss Charlie. My daughter in law was told she could have IVF but it was highly unlikely she’d conceive. It was such an emotional time. The mind is such a tricky thing. She was absolutely on the floor. Fortunately like you I strongly believe in holistic therapy. We now have two beautiful Grandsons 🙏 both naturally conceived. We’re so blessed. Anyone out there struggling acupuncture is AMAZING!!!! Thanks again Charlie 💓💯

So good to hear your journey Charlie. It’s so good to share our own fertility stories with others, everyones path is different but there are always common points along the way. We tried to conceive for 2 years naturally, then were referred onto fertility / IVF path, took a further year of Clomid to try & get ovulating which didn’t work, finally referred for IVF round which was tough but so so worth it. I had 17 eggs retrieved, all fertilised yet on the day of the embryo transfer 5 days later there was only 1 left which they deemed ‘perfect’ (normal) to implant. It was a tough journey mentally & physically, we’d decided as I’d been so unwell with IVF that it was going to be our only round, but I am now sat here with my 5 year old daughter, she is my miracle, so for anyone watching this & reading the comments currently in the throws of it, keep going, keep believing but most of all be kind to yourself, it’s hard but you are stronger than you think x

Also, acupuncture and reflexology and all the holistic therapies are absolutely amazing! I have been healed for a few things in many of these techniques and it's quite staggering how quick they work and how effective they are. What have you got to lose!? Give it a go! ❤

What’s wild is i think I saw this same acupuncture therapist in Southfields when I was trying to induce labour and my daughter was breach - it didn’t work for me. But I had my own twists and turns in my journey- equally miraculous and it helps to prove how individual these experiences always are ❤

It's important to remember that those with children that you see all the time when you are struggling to conceive may have had a similar fertility journey (or maybe even a longer or more complicated one) to you. Instead of looking negatively at them see them as your future and that it can happen. You never know what anyone has gone through. It is so important to always be kind. It's what I try to teach my boys if someone is a little sharp or unkind. I say you have no idea what day they have had or what they are going through. Give people the benefit of the doubt and see things in a positive way. This is not always easy, believe me, I know too. But if you can occasionally master this life won't feel so bad. Well done for sharing the story of your three miracle babies. X

Thank you for sharing Charlie. I am unfortunately finding myself in a similar boat after just finding out that my progesterone is too low after trying unsuccessfully for a year. I wish so much that i had it checked sooner. I feel so naive, but i had no symptoms to think anything was wrong. You perfectly validated all of my feelings in such a sensitive way. x

It's very generous of you to share your story and hopefully it may help some people facing similar problems. It took us four years to conceive. I had started taking Royal Jelly in the hope it would help. I had also left my stressful job four months earlier. Perhaps one of those helped, who knows. x
