In a small alley on Hai Ba Trung Street, Da Kao Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, a chain of high-end restaurants and services directly served and interacted with customers by the disabled, was founded by Vu Anh Tu and Germ Doornbos, including: Noir. Dining in the Dark - the restaurant is served by blind staff; Blanc - restaurant employing deaf and hearing-impaired service team; Flower Speak - flower shop run by hearing-impaired florists; Noir. Spa and Noir. Coffee in the Dark.
In Vietnam, the unemployment rate for the blind and hearing-impaired is up to 94% and in Ho Chi Minh city number reach to 4,000 people.
Although it is not something too big, Germ and Tu have joined hands to contribute to creating jobs for the disabled community here. Thanks to the job, they can be financially independent, reduce the economic burden on their families and have the right to decide their own lives.
All of that is not just a community business model but has become a journey of social dedication through full sensory experiences.
