It doesn’t mop the carpet. It senses where carpet area is.There is a function to detect all your carpet. It is when you start registering it all. Mine does. And on the map I can see the carpet area also.

I suppose these robots appeal to the lazy or to people who want something to complement their active cleaning routine. The tech is not mature enough to be a substitute for manual vacuuming.

There are square models to help more with corners. But this kind of product helps someone like me who can't really lift heavy or do activities like cleaning my entire place. Just helps keep a cleaner house for those who are mostly incapable at least for me

If you have never owned one then you don’t know what it’s like at all. I like cleaning but I purchased a shark robot vacuum and it’s the best money I’ve ever spent, the thing leaves my home spotless! I used to have to wipe dust of furniture but since getting this vacuum it’s greatly reduced the amount of dust around the house, I now have to spend less time dusting as a result! Plus it cleans the floors very well it goes right under the beds and sofas, I couldn’t believe the amount of dirt/dust it picks up and I only run it 3 times a week. Even when the house looks clean it still manages to pickup dirt I can’t see and it picks up a lot. I used to be a skeptic , but not anymore! This thing in my opinion is a must have!

I am sure they also appeal to disabled people who have difficulty vacuuming and mopping. Let's not mention how helpful they are to the elderly who are not capable of cleaning like they would like to. It's easy to assume that only "lazy" people would be interested in something so helpful. God forbid a busy mom got a little help every once in a while. I can't imagine floors are getting very clean when you are only spending 5 minuets in your efforts to do so. Honestly, I would venture to say this vacuum out cleans even your most sanitary human being with its ability to pay close attention to corners.

Yeah.....Nope. My house is 4700 sq ft. I can sweep my kitchen in 5 minutes, maybe. If I sweep, vacuum and mop my entire house, it's a 6 hour ordeal. My only big complaint about my roomba is that it's way too loud.
