Your videos are comfort TV for me! I put you up on my smart TV and listen and feel not alone. I have 3 kitties and of course never really feel alone but your videos make me feel like you are here talking to me about the Vacuums. I Lost my husband suddenly in 2014 after 17 yrs being married. Met him 3 yrs before so 20 yrs all together, no kids. Thank you so much for your videos. ❤
I’m so sorry to hear about your husband passing away 💕. I know that must be hard. I do these videos to entertain. But I also do these videos to show people that liking vacuums isn’t weird. And it’s okay to be different. And I’m so glad I’ve let you feel like you’re not alone. Because you never will be. I’m so happy you enjoy my videos. And I feel so good that people like you appreciate my hard work 🥰
Lay a high powered flashlight on your hardwood floors after vacuuming and you will see if your vacuum is really picking up the dust, not just the bigger particles. You have to lay the flashlight on the floor not just point it at the floor. I’m considering the Apex because of the contact of the soft roller on the floor. Right now the only way to pick up dust off my hardwood is a swiffer with the dust cloth. It’s amazing how much dust is still left behind after vacuuming. The floor looks clean but it’s not.
@@DillonCleans can you tell me how much the Apex is? I’m trying to find the model that I just read an article on but it takes me to a $ 400 dollar one on Amazon. But when I search Amazon myself there are some at $199.00. Maybe their used models.
@@ginamenard6697 the Apex is officially discontinued by shark. But there may still be stock of it other places. The much better Version of the Apex is the Vertex and Stratos. Both of those are around the $400 mark however you can find discounts other places. I always like to buy from bed bath and beyond for 20% off. But shark usually has 10-20% off sales on their website. If that’s too expensive for you, any model that has duoclean is a model with the soft roller. Different models have different features but if you’re mainly focused on the soft roller, anything with duoclean is perfect.
That’s true. But I would pick the vertex hands down for me because it cleans carpet a lot better. And the cyclone is better. But the apex is still a great choice
Great review! I am currently doing research on floors for my kitchen. I am looking to replace my old Bruce Hardwood which is in bad shape. I like the color of your hard floors. Would you mind sharing exactly what kind of floors they are - brand, color? We have a dog, so we are concerned about how well our future floor will handle scratches, how slippery the floor is, and durability. There are so many choices! We are considering wood look tile and or luxury vinyl plank. Thank you so much for any input you can offer!
Hi there! We bought our house brand new back in 2021 and the floors we have are luxury vinyl plank. The floors really have help up really well. Our old house had laminate and they were honestly crap. When we first moved in they were shiny but by the time we moved out they were dull all over. But over 6 months of living here we haven’t had that issue. The floors still look brand new and are water resistant so they won’t bubble up like laminate does. They are also quieter which may sound weird but let me explain. We have a dog and every time she would walk on the laminate floors, it was so loud with her nails touching the floor. This new floors is very quiet and doesn’t creek. But the no creeping mag have to do with the new foundation. These floors are also quite easy to clean and it’s a lot cheaper than tile for sure. However, it won’t last forever and doesn’t have the durability that tile offers. So although I love these floors and highly recommend them, if possible I would go for the wood look tile. It will also increase your homes value when selling more than vinyl plank will. So overall I recommend both, but tile will always be my personal pick. I hope this helps! And thanks for watching my video!
Which one would you recommend for me? I have half and half - upstairs is all carpet, downstairs is all hard surface. I have medium-length hair and I own a big fluffy white Samoyed dog and 2 long-haired cats.
I would definitely reckon at the vertex more. It cleans carpets much much better. And the Zero M on the vertex is much better. And it appears that you will need that more. The apex is only good if you have some carpet and mostly hard floors. So I would definitely go for the vertex
My Vertex is being delivered tomorrow. I'm looking forward to using it on my carpets that have been vacuumed for the past year or so with an anemic Dyson Cinetic Ball canister vac that I have grown to hate. It's still under warranty so I'm sending it to Dyson for repair.
You’re gonna love it!! The Dyson cinetic technology is great and the upright version is awesome. But the canister version doesn’t have a motorized brushroll so it will be leaving a lot behind in the carpet. Your new shark will absolutely blow you away!! Please give me a follow up on how you like it
That is correct. But you don’t need to do maintenance on the vertex brushroll. But you may need to do Mai remove on the apex brushroll. Removing the soft roller is easier on the vertex. So I will say that they are pretty much the same, but you will need to do less maintenance on the vertex because the filters stay cleaner and the self cleaning brushroll works better.
@@charlesrodriguez7984 the brushroll most likely will not need to be replaced. If you take good care of the machines and use them on the proper floor setting, they should last very well. But it is technically possible to remove the brushroll. It’s just a more involved process
The vertex is much better. Theres more suction power as well. I do believe the apex to be a bit lighter than the vertex. Lol i have both but i think my opinion ia bias 🥺🥺
I feel then being similar in weight. Hit the apex being much easier to carry because the handles have more grip to them and are more comfortable. Vertex is certainly better though
@@DillonCleans true. I think the power is what i was looking at the most rather than the design or weight. Honestly i prefer a bigger heavier vacuum. Idk why. The bigger and louder it is for me the better 🤣. In ur opinion what is the greatest overall upright vacuum?
@@leoshashouseofvacs that’s a hard question. Best overall has to go to the shark Vertex. Best upright bagged is probably the Miele. Best upright bagless for carpets is the Dyson ball animal 2. And beat for hard floors is shark apex/vertex. So those are my recommendations
@@DillonCleans so basically what i heard was shark vertex and then other vacuums. Lol. But no i do get what ur saying tho. Ive never owned a dyson but i do want one. I heard and seen that they are pretty good with carpet. As far as a miele thats a whole nother level. I dont know anything at all about those. I dnt even think i said or spelled the name right 🤣🤣🤣. What about the kirby? I used to have an old one when i was younger. I know they made a newer version and some lady did a show and tell at my house. Do they work pretty well? I was thinking of buying it.
