your confusing it by changing its environment constantly. you cant move it too far from where it left off after an error or it wont know where its at. the camera on top maps your ceiling. the best thing you can do is make sure you have plenty of lighting and to not be home. not a fair review in my opinion.
At least for the camera managed robots, it would be nice to see you test without hovering over them. They require the fish-eye view (some of which are 45 degree cameras) of the ceiling to help their navigation. In my opinion, hovering over them could cause issues with this type of bot as it will see you in the camera and could confuse it's navigation and possibly even lose its place in its map and do odd things like circle, go in an odd direction, etc. Hovering over a camera bot would be akin to constantly walking in front of a lidar robot and having it pick you up with the laser as a change to the map or even an obstruction. Staying back from all of them would be more ideal so that all the tests are apple to apple comparisons. Maybe run a few of the older camera based bots again that you hovered over to see if they do any better.
Waaay too hard on it. Mine works great, but I also don't have a bunch of jelly beans and rice all over my floor...u prob got a bum one, but mine has been awesome
I loved it! It felt amazing! They rushed this robot to market. The Amazon reviews prove it. Thus most helpful positive review has over 400 people. The most helpful critical review……… well it has over 2000!
Hey Adam, how long did this 'new IQ bot' take to even start mapping? I've ran mine 10 times and it hasn't mapped squat yet again. My dad has this same bot and it mapped in 4 runs.... just wondering what your experience was
i just got this for 150 bucks..... only for living room. should i return it. or is there any other self emptying robot thats around that price that would be better
Have you analyzed this without wifi? That would be appreciated. Many of us don't want full camera footage of the inside of our homes constantly surveilled so it's a good thing to not hook these - any of these - up to wifi. It would be nice to see how they do without it. The apps are not worthwhile.
I got the shark ai about 2 weeks ago. I absolutely love it. I did try the jelly bean with it, and it ate it with no trouble. I didn’t even have to take the piece in the bin out. I think yours was defective.
I just picked one up from Amazon for refurb $215. Comparing to the s9+ it sounds like it doesn’t have any suction power, I picked it up for $215 so my expectations are low. It will be cleaning all vinyl flooring and my only expectation is that it picked up fine pet hair maybe 1” in length (American bully) and also 1 older cat. So far I’m not impressed with it at all, but I’m also comparing it to a $1000+ unit.
I have had the shark iq without the self empty dock sense March and I love it is the best robot vacuum I have ever had out of the roomba 675,deebot n79w,iLife v3s pro and the awful bobsweep bobi pet
I could see that one being OK....the whole problem with this POS is the tiny tiny dirt bin...if it was larger like yours it would probably be a decent bot.
Thanks I am glad that how bad this robot vacuum compare to others. I am looking into getting a robot vacuum with a self emptying bin IRobot is 1 what other good ones do you suggest.
I have a pure clean one touch she have ass clean but at least she cleans the room and once you turn the button she go until the battery dies out then you have to put her back on charge 90 minutes of cleaning not bad thanks for the update on shark cuz I was thinking about buying one but if it does that I might keep what I got you get what you pay for what pure clean I'm just saying
u should send ur s9+ to go out and finish the job it started. show us how the king does the job. should do it for all other robots as well. nice compare.
So far I have mine for 20 days and We run the shark twice a day and so the wife is happy, if she is not convinced in 10 days I will try the iRobot8....
@@Abirrr.k yes, The wife is fine with the job the shark does.Remember we don’t have pets in the house and hard wood floors.Remember to clean the filter inside the shark because it gets clog with fine dust, I noticed it picked up a bunch of glitter from the floor while we were decorating inside the house.
@@angelf2416 I’m glad it’s doing just well for you. I’ve order mine recently and I’m excited for it to come, this review is giving the shark iq so much backlash like he truly hates it. but I think it’ll be great with my hard wood floors and the dog hairs.
Adam, I believe that you should expand your robot vacumn reviews to cover functionality. Such as mapping capability comparisons, how does these robots handle area rugs (my Ecovacs t8 not so well), defining rooms (Ecovacs software sucks) and I have been in contact with them multiple times in regards to this issue, etc. I believe your followers would gain quite a bit of knowledge on which robovac would be the best for them.
I can’t watch these shark iq videos because I love mine it is the best robot vacuum I have ever used but mine is the one without the auto empty dock maybe you should give that one a try
Our house is almost 2500 square feet, and this thing cannot map the entire house no matter how much I try. Is anyone else having problem like this? It has no idea how to clean the bathrooms it only will clean rooms. I want to take it back and get something else but is there anything that is comparable to this out there?
@@AdamsReviewsthank you for responding back so quickly Lidar based? Actually cleaned very well. I don't make it work as hard as you made it work though. It just has a problem mapping the entire house which kind of defeats the purpose. I will check out the I home Nova that you suggested
the fact that u put whole 1 ounce box of jelly beans in the s9 and got everything out compared to this piece of crap that gets errored out by 1 jelly bean
The Shark IQ and Adam just aren’t a good match! Next video: Shark IQ Robot - DESTRUCTION - Let’s the destroy this piece of shit! Thanks for testing it again. I bet the Eufy 25C I got my mom for Christmas will work a hell of a lot better, and the next robot I’ll probably look at is the Roborock S5 Max.
I sent roborock a email asking them if they are working on self emptying bin they emailed back and said we are in the process of making a self emptying bin just running tests to make sure it is up to par to live up to roborock no release date at this time hopefully this news cheers you up
HORRAY! Finally ROBOROCK is making a self-emptying bin! I expect the robot and self-emptying bin to come out this January since they are almost done and they usually release a new robot in January like they did with the ROBOROCK s6 pure which I own. Can I copy your comment to Adam’s latest video? I want him to know this amazing news!
@@moondoggey Yeah maybe since in the the Middle of the Year, ROBOROCK releases the most expensive robot, so it might come at that time, but hopefully it will come in January. Hopefully the design is bottom ported instead of Rear Ported.
I honestly don't know how you have so many issues with the shark robots. I have this exact model and it makes a map of my roughly 1000 sqft space in 1 or 2 runs. Cleans when scheduled, the whole floor plan in about 60 mins. The only issue I've ever had is it not cleaning a specified room, it'll clean other places first, which is annoying. Otherwise it does a great job cleaning, and for the price 350$ cdn on sale, it's much cheaper than any other offering.
Appreciate the total honesty. Shame that Shark's robovacs are crap considering their upright vacs are pretty good. Shark really needs to give their robots LIDAR, a bigger redesigned dust bin, and overhaul their worthless app.
They gave the Shark AI LiDAR, and the VacMop a bigger bin (not the Self-Empty version), and they did overhaul their app, but it's still junk. Even Vacuum Wars said that.
I got one of the older models, I hate it so much it’s one of the worst (if not THE worst) robot I own I mean seriously, the navigation algorithm is a joke
Man this video make me cringe hard. Maybe get that thing with the phone out of the robot camera view🤦🏻♀️ it's a very wide camera and stop hovering. I would also like to mention that phone thing is adding a lot of weight which is probably the main thing causing all those problems.
Trust me. Me hovering has nothing to do with the poor performance of this robot. it was only one test. I did many. With that being said you should check out the newest one shark offers with LIDAR...night and day difference. its actually good.
@@AdamsReviews yes I have watched your videos on it and have decided to buy it. I think for the money 499 you can't get better. The edge clean and the actually useful mop. Hopefully they keep improving the app and robot firmware.
Hi Adam, please return that Shark at once. It is not a good choice, those side brushes are just funny 😁, they don’t do nothing, it leaves lots of debris along the way, it’s slow and noisy, I rather keep my Roomba 675. Hugs from Portugal 🇵🇹
The most helpful review is 1 star. The most helpful positive review on Amazon has only 400 people that find it helpful. The most helpful critical review has over 2,000.
Don't listen to this dude, I brought my shark back to the store. I am realy sorry about this decision, because on all robots, you need to clean the brush frequently. There were no such problems with the shark, probably, they just didn't want to pay for the review, so he got angry. Why do you need a self-cleaning robot if you have to clean its brush every 2-3 days ?!
This thing is worse than a low end "non" smart robot. Those random robots do better job. This is really bad for a so-called high end robot trying to take on the big boys. They make good stick vacuums, but robot tech is definitely not a strong point, Intelligence lacking a bit.....
Absolutely a biased review… probably you have a personal issue with shark… I have one, not perfect but not as bad as you described here… my sis got another brand, pretty much same ups and downs with shark… not a fair review, sorry…
Forget the infomercial. The infomercial is just pure misleading. Claiming that it picks up everything it its path is very misleading. Does worse than a cheaper Chinese knock off Eufy which is surprisingly not surprising to me. I’m Half Chinese and live in the US, but that doesn’t mean I’m biased. I know someone that is American and she loves her ROBOROCK s4 more than the ROOMBA 880 that she was fine with. If I had the Shark IQ I would be mad. Like I don’t understand why it sucks at mapping.
