After viewing most of your videos, I bought a Shark Navigator Rotator Lift Away Professional for my wife who was hoping for a Dyson this Christmas. She cleaned the whole house one day after cleaning with her old vacuum, and she completely filled the bucket. Two things we noticed about the vacuum that we did not like: 1. Unless the cord is entirely unwinded from the vacuum, you cannot remove the wand. We consider this a design flaw. 2. The vacuum doesn't flatten very well to go under tables.
I bought the Dyson DC40 and wasn't really that impressed. Due to the fact that I was not entirely happy, I kept looking for another vacuum. This one had great reviews, so I compared them side by side and it only took me one day to decide that the Dyson was the one getting the boot. The Dyson got hot, was louder and did not clean as well. Our carpet looks much better groomed and has returned to almost new like appearance after using the Shark.
I just bought this exact vacuum tonight! It works Amazing!!!! cant believe the crap it pulled out of my rug, I had vacuumed earlier that day with my old vacuum! Definitely worth the money!!
I purchased this vacuum 2 weeks ago and I am very impressed!! It blows away my old vacs which include dyson, oreck, windtunnels and on and on. I usually get 2 maybe 3 years out of our vacuum cleaners. I do worry about longevity on this vacuum but for 200 bucks I will enjoy it as long as it lasts. The suction is incredible and the canister feature is super handy for cleaning high areas. I registered this vac with shark for the warranty and if i get 2 to 3 years out of it I will be thrilled. Would buy another in a heartbeat!!
Your videos have been very helpful in my quest for a new vacuum! love reading the comments as well. The ones complaining about video quality... that's like going to McDonalds and complaining there's no valet or wine list. Hell I'm just glad you took time to make the video and upload it! Makes shopping and spending the money easier.
Bought one last week at BBB and we are totaly impressed! It's quiet for it's cleaning power, narrow, steers around furniture with ease, reconfigures in a snap, and very well engineered. This vac has 3 filters. Dirt is filtered twice before it even lands in the canister. Also a huge hepa filter filters the exhaust air leaving the vac. The cool thing is all filters are washable. GET IT and you will be just as happy :) J&J Michigan
I am a bit of a 'vac head' myself, and I own the Shark Navigator (NV22L) for over a year now, and have been 'shouting it from the mountaintops'! It's light, performs well, and I love the easy empty bin and easy maintenance. A total winner in my book. I only wish it was an inch or two wider. How does the the NV22L compare to this new Shark you just reviewed, performance-wise and maintenance-wise? And why do you suppose it's not a 'cyclonic' type vac? Is cyclonic action largely a gimmick?
I think that it would be best to compare just how much deep dirt the vacuum gets, rather than just debris on the surface. While debris on the surface can be annoying and unsightly, ground in dirt is just as bad, if not worse
Great review, think you might need a head mounted camera though. LOL Just curious how much the vac caddy costs? I have a Shark Navigator Pro that I bought last year and absolutely love it. Only problem for me is the vac hose is too short for my purpose when using in the "liftaway" mode. The hose arrangement on this new model seems to be a much better design. What is your opinion?
Thanks for making this video, it sounds like the agitation is better than the lift away pro. I'm curious do the tools from the rotator fit on the lift away pro?
Thank you for going to all the trouble to show us how this works. I like the way the hardfloor attachment also swivels. Does the wand have a hook to keep the cord up by your hand out of the way?
This vacuum is one of the best I have ever used, and it really does what shark says it will do. This is the best vacuum for the price and will out clean a dyson any day.
Thank you for the great reviews. I went out and bought mine after watching your video. I almost purchased a dyson but sharks have come a long way. Great vacuum.
just got the rotator shark but not sure if its professional. got all attachments yours has except detailing. was $100. off @ Canadian tire & was waiting 4 some time to get it. just glad it was on sale when i finally got the money for purchase. i really do like it and many said its comparable to dyson or better. not bad for $250. got it just in time cause its back to regular price now. canister was filled with 2 area rugs that needed desperate cleaning due to broken down older vacuum and 3 pets
Logdog, do you plan to compare the navigator to the rotator? Can't find your videos on that. Or better do you think the rotator lift away pro is a better product than the navigator counterpart? Your reviews are ultra helpful AND I might add was a major factor in our decision not to by a Dyson Animal which was our original intent. but NOW we need to choose between Sharks! LOL
I just ordered this yesterday from Walmart haven’t gotten it in yet but it shows in the picture that it does not come with one of the parts that you just showed it looks like the floor for hardwood floors part vacuum the gray nozzle the big gray nozzle I sure do hope it comes with that like you say in the video
since you test vacuum cleaners, did they include the caddy for you to test or does it come with it when consumers order the vacuum cleaner or does it cost extra?
Works better than standard Vacuum cleaners. The motorised roller brush is extremely helpful. Going forward with the roller brush moving is great but is tiresome pulling back. I purchased the Shark Rotator Lift-away Professional after seeing it advertised on TV. The price appears to be 4 times that of a standard bagless vacuum cleaner. Hope this is worth it especially as it has a 5 year warranty in NZ.
Your video reviews are top notch btw. Got mine today, ordered a second set of filters and the wife upholstery tool. I have cats who sleep on the bed and the quilt must be cleaned periodically, I ordered an extra dusting brush mainly for that purpose, hope it has stiff bristles. Thanks!
Hi, I had very plush carpets and after using the power brush they're not so plush anymore, I would say the majority of the stuff coming up is actually carpet fluff as I realised mine was. I know the power sweeping picks up heaps but how is the suck without the brush roller going? I just wonder if you can actually feel al ot of suction there as I noticed in comparison to my old broken in-expensive vacuum my old one sucked better, I could actually feel a lot more suction than the Shark Pro and my old vac is basically a pile of duct tape.... wondering if there is a problem with my machine or if it is actually just like this as I had one prior to the one I have now which is a replacement because the first ones suction was the same.
Where did you purchase this product? I just bought mine. but it doesn't seem to come with as much as your are showing. I am most interested in the caddy and the hard wood attachment..
Thanks for all your reviews! I can't decide which Shark to get and your review really helps! Are you going to review the Shark Rocket/Rocket Professional any time soon?
So in your opinion what is the best bang for the buck when it comes to uprights. Considering the DC33. this Shark and the Eureka Air speed bagless. any thoughts?
What are your thoughts regarding the cleaning head on the vacuum over time with constant use on pet hair? would you recommend this over the Dyson DC41? any other suggestions would be helpful.
This matters on the model number. nv500 from shark does not include the caddy. target and walmart have a model that I also believe doesn't come with the caddy. Amazon has the nv501 which does come with the caddy as well as the bed bath and beyond nv502 model. of course they are higher priced. But we bought ours with a 20% coupon at bed bath and beyond, resulting in this vacuum costing the same as the walmart/target model.
The review is helpful. Nice to see the vac tested from a "common" pov instead of a "scripted" pov. But, the banging on the microphone, and the high and low voice levels due to the constant pacing made watching your review quite irritating. Suggestion: have someone control the camera for you and/or get a wireless lapel mic.
Thanks for the really good review. I am planning to buy this one soon. Could you please let me know if this vacuum could go between carpets of various thickness? I have seen vacuums with a dial that ranges from carpet to hard floor, but have not seen one on this. Thank you very much once again.
Hi VacBin, could you make a demo vacuuming over a carpet sample using either stainmaster pet protect carpet frizze or a smart stand silk sample? It's just shocking that a mfg can make a carpet that can't be vacuumed with the beater bar rotating. And even with the bar turned off its still almost if not definitely impossible. Sales men doo not alert the customers. They find out after its installed and get a grim reality. If you can't use a beater bar on carpet that carpet will not get agitated to bring up particles. Please share any thoughts or suggestions. Thanks.
I love my shark vacuum cleaner but wish mine had come with that cool floor caddy did yours come with the attachment for doing bare floors? The floor caddy would have been a big help for that alone.
The closed captioning on this is horrendous. I would complain. Thanks for the review. My Dyson just died. I had it for a while. I will buy this to replace it. Thank you.
The suction on carpets is excellent, however the vac is heavy and cumbersome. The hose on the wand is very stiff and tends not to expand / extend making the wand
Kimberly Harrison I just bought this vacuum and it came in today- before this, I never paid over $70 for one. This thing cleaned my carpets much deeper than my previous and felt almost self propelled because the brush worked so well. The lift away feature made this much easier to clean my steps, which used to bother my back. It is fairly light as a lift away and also worked great with the wand to clean off my ceiling fans. I could smell my dog's hair anytime I used my old vacuum because it wasn't sealed; the air coming out of this thing didn't smell at all. I realize that I haven't had this for much time yet, however coming from a low end vacuum, this thing is absolutely amazing.
Great review! Thanks! I am addicted to watching informercials (I don't know why I just have been since childhood!), especially Shark ones. I just got through watching an infomercial for this model and I wondered if it was really as good as the infomercial was saying. This review was very good and now I want a Shark Rotator terribly! LOL
I just ordered this shark Shark Rotator Pro Lift Away Vacuum if it doesn't work better than the customer service and do hardwood floors I will be sending it back!
I hardwood floors right now and I own a canister vacuum and HATE it... Looking for an upright and was wondering if this would work for me. I wouldn't want to have to just use the hardwood floor attachment.
Can this vacuum clean under beds with that detachable mini vac for the hardwood floors? I work at a hotel and think that part would be really handy for sucking up debri under the beds :) .
Hi . Can anyone here help me please ? I purchased this vacuum after reading and watching wondering reviews about it . I can’t figure out how to vacuum under the bed and the couches with the vacuum not the attachments ? Thank you , I would greatly appreciate the advice. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year everybody. 🎉💖🎉
Did you buy the similar vacuum the Navigator because that one doesn't come with it. Maybe you can phone customer service and see if they will send you one for free because its too long for you to go back to the store .
I bought this vacuum to clean a small office. It worked fine for about 6 months, and then started making terrible noises. No problem, I thought. It's got a great warranty. Little did I know that the ONLY place to get it repaired is through Shark. They ordered a replacement part, but it's on back order and won't ship for at least 6 weeks. 6 weeks without a vacuum! They apologized, but said there is nothing they can do. I told them flat out I would never buy a product from Shark again.
Update: I called them in January, and they told me mid-Feb to early March for the replacement part. I just received an email stating that the scheduled ship date for the replacement part is April 15. This vacuum will be sitting idle for 3 months waiting for a replacement part. I took it to a local shop, and they said they cannot fix it because it requires Shark propriety parts and ONLY Shark carries the parts. I had to buy a new vacuum to continue my cleaning while I wait for their replacement part. Then I will sell this vac and try to recup at least a little of my money.
could you maybe use this vacuum to vacuum up a room that will let the shark vacuum up actual dust and we can see how much dust it actually picks up in a room and not just watch it pick it cereal and paper which we know it can vacuum. i would like to see it in action and actually vacuum a room ans see how much it does pick up
you review is great, but would be so much better if you have someone else filming, and cut down on the extra noise due to moving the camera around all the time.
I have had it for almost a year! Well maby 6 months. It's an amazing Vacuum! Best out there and will probably be tell shark comes out with a new one. But um it's a Shark Rotator Lift Away!!! NOT SHARK NAVIGATOR ROTATOR LIFT AWAY! They went with a new series of vacumms and have several rotator ' s now. I think 3 or 4! But this is my favorite!
Holy shit all my vacuums from childhood had headlights then in my adult hood my last few did not with this vacuum I don't even gave to turn on lights those led light's are blinding
