I also agree I thank y for this very detailed video. It did help me make a decision as I am already a steam mop owner of the previous pocket version. Man, I think you need to send this to the designers if you have not already Shark engineers need to see this and weak for an upgrade version. I agree with you on all the pros and cons of this device. Thank You for your video.

I have a non-spin shark steam mop pro. However the plug is getting hot after cleaning a single room, the prongs on the cord are literally too hot to touch. My vacuum doesn’t make the outlets warm at all so I’m wondering if it’s the Mop. Or perhaps since I always run it on Scrub mode. I’m considering trying this spin mop as a replacement. Thanks for the review.

Thank you for your Shark Steam Mop demonstration. I am considering. Currently I have a Bissell crosswave which works pretty good but it leaves streaks ans doesn't clean as well as I would like. So far I think this is the best product for steam cleaner however, Shark needs to add two features to this steam mop. 1. Make it cordless 2.make it vacuum submtaneously

Cool. I might get this. I just happen to realize cleaning with water saves on the chemical cost too. This looks like a unique product for floors meeting a sweet spot between cost and function because it's doing a little scrubbing. I can't imagine how long that would take me to do all that scrubbing.

I caught my 2 mode on sale at Walmart and was initially happy with it. My floors are not filthy filthy by any means but it took me a month this time. I have a large hardwood floor great room and hall. Tile in kitchen and two bathrooms. Took a little to get some spills off the tile. Thought it was fine and clean and went back over my hardwood with a disposable mop pad and still a lot of dirt even after two cleanings with the Shark. I’m not impressed anymore. Taking it back tomorrow. I haven’t tried the tile. I am calling Stanley Steamer because my grout needs to be cleaned in some areas. They have always done my grandparent’s house and floors look like new after. I was not expecting professional results btw but something easy and quick. It did leave my hardwood full so I have to polish it. Curious as to an alternate floor cleaner now.

Your floors may have been dirtier than you thought. I just bought this today and I hadn’t cleaned my floors in a while so i have to go back over with it a second time because once the steam mop picks up a lot of nastiness it’ll stop cleaning properly so I’m thinking a few times of going over it should do the trick. My hard wood in front of my front door however feels amazing.

We wanted to buy a steam mop to save money on swifter wet and dry pads. We also wanted something natural that would still clean. After using it for several months I noticed the floors are clean however they are very dull and you can see swirls on the floor afterwards. I’d almost rather waste the money on swifter wet pads. They cleaned well and left the floor shinning. I wish Shark had a safe additive to add to the machine to leave a nice shine.

If you're looking to remove the shine off of your floors then this is the mop for you. I got this for Christmas and was so eager to use it , really enjoyed how it steamed and the spinning seemed like a great idea. It's been around a month now and I've noticed my floors look dull and with no shine at all. I was thinking maybe it was the salt from the outside (salt to melt the snow) but I think it is definitely the mop. I'm really upset as my entire floor colour has changed and just looks terrible. Definitely think about what's happening with this mop it's scrubbing the finish off of your floors little by little like a sander.

I noticed the same on the porcelain tiles. The floor looks dull. The grout needs to be cleaned as well, but this mop doesn't do the job. I had to go back and clean the grout again with another mop. Also I have noticed with the hot steam the grout is drying out and cracking.

Try using distilled water. Might take a few cleanings, also if any previous cleaners had wax in them. A traditional mop of Vinegar water mix can remove both. Then use distilled water steam from then on. Softeners/adds like scented booster beads, in laundry detergent might leave residue in pads too. Again a wash with vinegar water, or non softener detergent might help.

Do you have any suggestions on what to use with matte finished tiles? Seems there is nothing that can actually clean these tiles without leaving marks/streaks after the fact. I have tried several different mops and steam cleaners but have not come across anything that leaves the floor actually clean. In the next home, I buy I would never again have a floor with matte tiles as they seem to show everything. Thanks.

I’ve had my shark for four months, use it almost daily with my Bernese mountain dogs. Anyway, the steam melted the Velcro on the bottom of it. After phone call after phone call with shark I got replacements (they wanted me to Initially pay for it). Got my replacements today…. The Velcro has changed so they clearly know it’s an issue. It’s black now instead of white. Yet these things fit in the base of this thing terribly and they give you zero directions on how to make the repair. Sharks customer service is terrible to say the least, guy sounded half asleep and I got hung up on and no phone call back. Why are they taking all your info down if they’re not going to call you back if you get disconnected with all the waiting they make you do and live streaming to prove your machines broken. My next step is to epoxy these pieces in once this dries out. If that don’t work I’ll ship it to shark and they can shove it…

Great Video. I have to disagree on one thing. I like that the newer model sharks do not have the removable fill tank bec if stationary, it keeps the footprint lower. the smaller the fill tank footprint the lower i can get the mop under low items like a platform bed. I'm on my 3 rd steam mop and I like the more compact design to get into lower/tighter places that my previous steam mops could not. yes, its a pain to refill but I prefer it over the bulkier option.

@shawmeck9323

Looks like the spinning parts may be contributing to dust/left over debris particles being flown out by the sideways. Replacing the pads midway and refilling the tank sound cumbersome.

If your floor is very dirty, you clean it by vacuum cleaner at first before use this machine. the dust wont flown out, because steam will keep it on the pads

I just received the mop with only two cycles and no lights, but it's fine for me. I agree it's cumbersome removing the left-over water from the small tank. This was a design mistake as far as I'm concerned, But the good news is I was able to cut a small piece of clear plastic tubing and push it onto the end of a large syringe. I place the tube down into the tank and just draw out the excess water. My husband is a tube feeder so these items were readily available. This sure beats turning the unit upside down!!! By the way - the directions say to only use distilled water. Thanks for your review!

I got the Tineco floor washer and it’s awesome. I was using the Bissell Crosswave but the Tineco is definitely my favorite. If possible pick one up and tell me what you think. Check out the video I did on it. Thanks for the video.

@@VacTech1 that would be cool. Maybe one day we could do a video on the shark spin cleaner vs the Tineco. I hope you aren’t to far away. I live in Ocean city Maryland.

Where do you set the steam mop down when you’re done to avoid damaging the floor?
@VacTech1

I have a kitchen mat that I set it on.

@@VacTech1 Is it silicone? What material is best that it won’t damage? By the way, I’m impressed by your wicked fast response. A few other questions for when you have time. Do you still use your Shark Steam and Scrub? I got a great deal on one so I just hope it performs as decent as yours did in the video. Lastly, have you ever used a Bissell handheld Steam Shot for odd job cleaning?
@VacTech1
@VacTech1 Год назад
@@Jet_Threat my kitchen mat is memory foam with a vinyl covering. I still use the mop regularly, and really like it. It’s the best steam mop I’ve ever used. I really like the washable pads. I haven’t tried that Bissell yet, but I’ll keep an eye out for one!

Can you please let me know the name of your other machines your using to polish the floor
@VacTech1
@VacTech1 2 года назад
Sure. I use my Bissell Spinwave, and my Haan Multiforce Pro. They can agitate without steam/solution, so they're great for applying floor polish.

Could you put 20% pine-Sol mixture in the water for better clean and smell?
@VacTech1
@VacTech1 Год назад
I don’t think so. It would probably ruin the steam mop. They’re made for water only. Any cleaning chemicals could damage it. You could pre-spray the floor, then use the steam mop to scrub it, but the main point of steam mops is that they don’t require chemicals to disinfect the floors.
@Jet_Threat
@Jet_Threat Год назад
You could spray the pads or the floor, but not put it in the mop. You can also put a few drops/sprays of essential oil on the pads if you want a fresh, natural scent. If you have hard water, only use distilled water in the mop.

Is it constant steam or do you control the steam? Where does the steam come from?
@VacTech1
@VacTech1 6 месяцев назад
The steam comes through the pads. You can set the steam level with the controls on the front (3 levels), and its constant at the level you select during use.

No. Do not use steam on laminate or LVP. It will mess them up over time.

It was spinning for some reason its stopped spinning. I had unplugged when it was spinning. Is that the reason. I am able the start the mop & set steam mode & tilt the handle but it refuses to spin. Its a new mop & I just started using it today. Has anyone experienced this

So no solution (liquid cleaner)? Just water? Can we fill the tank with something?
@VacTech1

Yep, only water. Cleans with steam only, no chemicals. Only water should be added to the tank on the machine.

The Bissell can do more, but I also like the Shark. If you're stuck on just steam mops, get the Shark. If you want something more versatile, get the Bissell.
