Our family got one from a door to door salesmen in the mid 80's and it lasted all through my childhood and my mother still uses it to this day. It looks to be the same model, that brown color. The new ones are black and blue. One of the nice features is the exhaust plug that you can take out and put the hose on for inflation of air mattresses, pool toys etc.
I have a model 103 (red bag) and a model 501 (blue bag). Both vacuums were being used without filters. Do I need to use a paper filter with either one? Amazon sells filters for both (type G & J).
I sold Rainbows door to door in the 80’s - you took a new machine in and demoed it on customers furniture rugs - and occasionally mattress. I never had to put one back in the box….
I have a KDS-16 that is leaking from a hose that goes from the inlet valve up the left side of the tub and then I can't see where it connects. I believe that is where the leak is coming from. Is there an inlet somewhere in the side of the tub that allows water to fill the tub from the side? I can't pull the dishwasher out without unsoldering the drain, so I am trying to find out what I need to possibly repair the leak, connectors and what not, before I tear it out. Can you show me a diagram of the hose layout or remove the left side panel and take a photo?
Glad I came across this!! I have a similar dryer (different brand but almost exact same thing). I've had it for about 5 years and love it, but more and more often recently, the damn lint filter kept falling off during a cycle. Every 5 minutes or so until I got it secured in a sweet spot and it stayed on. It's been super annoying. However!! Your video brought to light the fact that I've had the filter installed wrong this entire time!! I swear when I got the dryer, the fabric (disposable / replaceable) filter was *inside* the two plastic pieces. The one I yours is exactly the same as the one in mine. Mine doesn't snap together the way yours does, but I'm wondering if it's supposed to. I just got out the manual for the dryer and sure enough, it seems to depict the order of installation the way you showed and not the way I've had it. The diagram is kinda unclear but looking at it the way you have it vs. how I had it your way makes more sense. I just popped it out (and vacuumed the filter - brilliant BTW, also hadn't even thought of that!), reinstalled it the *right* way and the next time I dry a load I'm hoping it'll not fall off again. Thanks so much for this!!
@@VacTech1 I recently got a really great Shark after having (what I didn't realize was till I got the Shark lol) a crappy off-brand cordless and it could never vacuum the filter as well as my Shark just did. I got a pack of 20 or 25 replacement filters when I first got the dryer and I'm probably not even halfway through it (I usually just clean off the filter till it gets too worn then replace it every couple months) but I'll definitely be vacuuming it from now on. I imagine they'll last much longer this way. Thanks again!!
Hello, do you know of any way to clean the clear plastic top cover of the main roller head on this? Mine really needs to be washed or at least be able to get to it to clean it. The gray thing that goes into the roller head is in the way.
Good review. This one has promise. I have always used Roborock with good results, but the self-cleaning mop seems like a good improvement. Hopefully, other manufacturers will start using it.
Great tutorial, thank you very much. I have a million questions so I wish you'd do a follow up, like for example what type of container you use for different items. It's not as intuitive as it seems, at least for me!
Eufy’s claim is it’s the first with a self-washing mopping roller, as well as an included auto wash all-in-one base station. I think this type of mopping robot will become the standard soon, as they clean hard floors much better.
@@VacTech1 I agree, the self-cleaning roller is the way to go! I do like Switchbot's separate water station that you never have to deal with - setup and forget it.
The claims by Eufy are odd considering kickstarter backers have had their Switchbot S10s since march...I wonder how much co development or straight up licensing Switchbot did.
@@VacTech1 You're probably right. It just strikes me as a little strange that apparently nobody has done this self-cleaning roller mop design before, and then we get two at about the same time both claiming to have invented the technology lol.
Agitation could be better, which is my forever complaint with robots haha. The mopping is indeed where it excels, but it’s keeping my carpeting clean too. It helps that it’s methodical and thorough.
Right out of the box, our Dyson Gen5Absolute had a significant rattle coming from the carpet cleaning head. Customer service conceded that the part is out of stock with no date for when it will be available (this is a HUGE problem with Dyson), so the unit had to be replaced. Dyson offered to ship us an exchange as soon as UPS received the defective unit. We recorded this conversation. Nevertheless, the next day, after we delivered the defective unit to UPS, customer service informed us that this was untrue. Dyson would not do an immediate exchange, but would ship a new unit only after it received and processed the unit, which would take up to 3 weeks (while Dyson sat on our money and the warranty triggered by our initial purchase continued to run.) In short, Dyson lied. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was assured that supervisor would call me back. No call. Dyson lied again. Even before we bought the unit, we got a bad taste of Dyson’s honesty. Customer service assured us that Dyson would price-match QVC’s sale price. This, too, proved to be untrue. Yet another lie. The vacuum may be great, but beware of Dyson. False assurances and unavailable replacement parts are a REAL problem.
You think I should get it? I currently have a Deebot X1 Omni, it’s two years old, needs a new battery for $40, which I’ll most likely get lol, but what do you think, should I go with an upgrade to this eufy sense my deebots a bit old now?
Scary that you can open the lid while it’s still spinning really quickly. The in-built brake should operate much faster than that as it can still take a child’s arm off.
Got a question. Got the Big Green Pet a day ago. Used the stair attachment on my stairs and it worked great. Today I tried using the entire machine in the hallway and it doesn’t work. It turns on, but no water is coming out and the rollers don’t turn. If I contact Bissell it gives me over to the mechanic along with a membership offer Any suggestions?
Might be defective. Make sure you have the correct tank filled with water, and that the tanks are seated correctly on the machine. If the brush doesn’t spin when you lower the handle, you could have a defective unit worth exchanging. I hope you can get it working! Carpet cleaning is where the machine really shines.
I found it interesting and humorous that while using the sebo x5 in your demonstration, you vacuumed dirt that was placed on a carpet with the word Hoover. )
Thank you for the detailed video. I love my Lift away Navigator vacuum….crazy powerful, so i wan to see what else they have in the floor cleaning space. Agree on a no-steam option. You are a great domestician….everyone needs one of you!
When the unit has not been cleaned/maintained in a long time, I suggest not to wash the fabric triangular/funnel shape filter as explained in the video. The reason for that is because the dirt is collected/trapped inside that filter; which is actually mentioned through the video. If the filter is washed without properly been clean from the inside, then there is a high risk of the dirt clogging in the filter. I suggest to first remove the filter's tap/lid/cover, then to vacuum the dirt inside the filter, and to use a brush to loose the dirt trapped inside. Only after that, the filter can be washed as shown in the video. Never to run water inside the filter as that will push the dirt further inside the filter causing a clogged filter.

They do work good but it is like hauling around a shop vac through your house. And you have to take it apart, fill the tub with water, put it back together then pull it around the house. We like ours but pretty much never use it. We bought a Ryobi cordless stick vacuum and love it. You just grab it and walk around the house cleaning. Not cords or huge vacuum to pull around. When we finish vacuuming with the Ryobi, I charge the battery (which takes about 2 hours) and put it back on the vacuum and it is ready to go for the next time I want to use it. And I can clean the entire 2,400 sf house on just 1 charge.
I do like the convenience of cordless, they’re better now than ever. Would be good to still use the Rainbow occasionally for a good deep clean. Will help the carpeting/rugs last longer.
