That was fun story time with great scenery! My hubs shark fished back 25 years ago with a net and long lines. I remember catching a hammerhead so big that when we stood shoulder to shoulder at the rail, each of us could grab onto the opposite sides of its head. We pulled & tugged on this thing trying to get it in the boat. We tied it up and ran a rope to the crab trap puller to get it in the boat & caught the solenoid or some electronic on that winch on fire. Smoke billowed out of that cabin, with a massive hammerhead alongside the boat and yards & yards of net with sharks left to pull in, we were stumped. Asked my hubs if he remembered the story The Old Man & The Sea. He didnt. We ended up roping its head off to bow and the tail to the stern of our 24 ft Morgan & dragged to the beach of an island & tubed. Almost still didnt get it in the boat except we had the advantage of lifting from land instead of pulling. That thing didnt reach from bow to stern but it was about 15' & weighed every bit of 600lbs when we got it to the scale at the dock. Never caught another that big, but Ive been up close and personal with black tips, lemons, tigers, bulls, nurses, shovel nose & hammerheads for a lifetime. Theres plenty lurking in these inshore murky Gulf waters.

Lots of Great Whites off Cape Cod too, apparently, in 2016 when in the USA buying a Sailboat, it was reported that there were at least 150 just off Cape Cod. Best Wishes. Bob in Wales. 👍⛵️✨️✨️✨️

I have only seen sharks once in my life at the Manila Ocean Park in the Philippines. I was surprised at how small that they were. These two sharks were just sitting on the floor of the aquarium and did not swim around. These two were about 3 or 4 feet long.

I once saw a documentary talking about sharks, they had some small sharks in a pool, and they were showing how the sharks were avoiding permanent magnets held on one side of the pool while they were gathered on the other side. Apparently, sharks are extremely sensitive to magnetic fields, and it was severely bothering them.

A verybgood rule of thumb with Sharks, is ever go swimming i the Sea at Night. The number of Night Swimmers going Missing in the Meditteranean, led to the question "Are There Great White Sharks in the Mediterranean? Which led to the Search for them, resulting in the answer Yes i deed there are indeed Great Whites in the Med, and turns out, the Med may well be an important Breeding area for them. Wort noting, apparently detrrgent is a pretty good Shark Repellant. Best Wishes and Fair Winds. Bob. 👍⛵️✨️✨️✨️

Leopard sharks and reef sharks abound at my surf spot here in SoCal. Every once in a while I get bumped by Bullsharks or hammerheads if I get too close. Once a Great White dented my 10’6” paddleboard and sent me flying. 😂 Too far offshore that day… But even the bigger leopard sharks have been able to swim under by board and put me in the water😮 The only place I have ever feared a shark was Hawaii. One day at the Hilo Breakwall I was using my surfboard as a float with 100ft of float rope attached on the other end to my spear. Needless to say I gave the 21 ft Tiger shark my lunch😢

Hey Clark, good stories. Made me watch your other shark video and that prompts a question: if not sharks, are there other animals in the see to worry about that could attack human on their own, or hurt me if i get carelessly too close? I def have phobia of that, as much as i love water and sailing. Thanks!

Barracuda scare people but if the water is clear and you aren't wearing jewelry they are ok. Creepy but ok. Up on the Pacific NW octopus kill people but only people that molest them. I feed them crab and they are friendly and crazy smart. Can't think of anything else.

@chrisbarriere101 Год назад
😂all those cases are linked to a single pod of Orcas. One older adult female was traumatized when her mate was killed by a boat we think. She has led her pod now to attack numerous ships in the Portuguese waters. But there have been no repeated episodes outside of that area.
