@@sechalion lol no they wouldnt. I worked at several hotels as a housekeeper. I will give yall a lil secret....we dont wash the comforters everytime. Next time you visit a hotel, immediately get rid of the comforter
@@cuckertarlson3037 I also thought it was nice to have the option, but I don't hate buying Chinese products. It's everywhere. There's very good quality and poor quality ones. With everything it's the same.
I think I would've gone with Daymond, making this product a part of the hotels and mattresses business is a huge win right of the bat, in the end all of them can help bring the production costs down
I think maybe he was trying to avoid saying how silly this product is. As you can see in this video with only one corner, imagine how bad will it look with all side and corners being shove-in like that. How many people that would pay 60 USD for this willing to let their bed looking like that? 10-20 dollars for single college kids, maybe. No patent too...dollars store and Amazon sellers will flash the market even if they can get enough people to get on board with the concept of "half making the bed"
Do you understand how much his time is worth? He said his jets was his best investment because the time they save him! We are all equal on one thing, there’s on 24 hours a day no matter your net worth!
Every business that makes it to shark tank does the same. Daymond was the clear choice with his connections comprising 51% of the hotel industry and already with 3 mattress companies. And they probably wouldn’t be missing sales with no inventory like they are now 👍
I think teens and above should watch it, not kids. Cause not all kids get what's happening. But with a teen they are at the level where they can reasonably comprehend everything
@@mdv9831 What you plant in the mind of the child is what they grow up to believe. If you plant in their minds that they can grow up to be inventors, believe me, they'll believe it and whatever they focus on they'll achieve it. Whereas in a teen mind, it takes time to plant something in their minds because their minds already filter. A kids mind has no filter, what you tell them is what they believe
This is gonna be a hit product. The potential is huge for people at home but as well as hotel industry making it easier to make the beds for their staff.
Barbara's a multi millionaire and is yet extremely choosy with her investments. She guards her money with that start-up/hustle mentality. All the jokes about her going out all the time aside, If I was a new entrepreneur in need of guidance, I'd seriously consider her as an investor.
I agree!! I’ve always liked Barbara and her reasoning always makes sense imo. Honestly she would be doing herself a disservice by investing in something she doesn’t believe in or can’t really help with.
6:27 - Mark " I spent about an hour a week making my bed, I extrapolated that out, that's 365 hours a year". How did this sentence even make it through editing, Let alone air....... Never thought I would hear someone who's viewed as a brilliant billionaire fail at rudimentary math.
Daymonds offer was the best one why try to sell a product to a home or an apartment with anywhere from 1-5 beds when you could sell en masse to the hotel industry where each hotel has upwards of 50-500 beds. Not to mention branching out to cruise lines, health care industry such as assisted living homes etc. QVC seems like such a bait and offers a quick flash sale and then back into obscurity. Daymonds offer has loads of potential scalability.
@@chriscolt9626 Without Daymon's connections? yeah good luck with that. Daymon has connections in Accor and Mariott, Lori does not. Ever tried selling a B2B product to a large company before? it's almost impossible without prior connections.
They made a massive mistake. Daymond was the clear choice. They would have blown up under his connections that he mentioned. All Lori is is QVC, or flash in the pan sales. All of them would have been able to lower manufacturing cost to the level Barbara stated or even better. Therefore Daymond’s deal would have provided the most long term growth and possibly the quickest growth as well. Their business could have been in the hundreds of millions in sales under his approach. QVC will get them the quick buck only and a bigger fish will swoop in and steal those absolutely massive contracts with the hotel chains, etc. Finally they probably could have gotten Daymond down to 20%.
@@herewego1067 That is true, she absolutely kills on products. Ok maybe I was a bit harsh on Lori in my oc, but in this case the ladies could have built a massive company around their product. Daymond was the clear choice, their contract with AAHOA alone would make more money than multiple QVC runs. Plus contracts with Purple, Casper, and Lisa mattress companies would be massive as well. Commercial for this product/company was the way to go and their sales would have dwarfed anything Lori produced with QVC. Also I believe Daymond’s connections in manufacturing would have given them the best results on manufacturing cost.
I feel as though Barbara doesn’t like to spread herself too thin with entrepreneurs, and is picky with what she invests in. That being said I think she would be the Shark able to offer the most help and time. She would have been a great partner for them imo. She showed a lot of interest and seems like a really nice lady, even gave them a chance to listen to other offers. PS- the Barbara jokes are super funny, but I think she’s smart and intelligent, her wealth acts as a testament to that.
She is super smart and funny. I actually love her as a person and would take her on as a shark invester. I participate in the jokes about her in good jest, simple humor, perhaps add a smile in what seems to be a chaotic era in the evelution of Earth. All in good fun. I am not a fan of trolling, attacking fellow commenters. We're all going through something. May as well be kind. Compassion. Life is a mirror, it does reflect back. Aloha 🤙
@@nermo.artist I've watched several interviews with her and she is an amazing person! Super legit and really cares about people. Gives great advice, too. Watch her on the Ellen Show where she gives advice to audience members. She's really smart and motivational.
I love how everyone who chooses Lori always thinks about QVC and how it will better their company, but let’s be honest here. Who, besides elderly people, even watch QVC anymore lol
Poor Barbara. She gets made fun of for never making offers, and when she finally does make an offer that's actually lower than any of the others, she gets rejected. Well damn
yeah ok and? whos the one with a multi billion dollar net worth? not you, so shut up buddy. With a 4.4 billion dollar net worth, Mark Cuban can do whatever the fuck he wants
The most recent valuation update was in August 2022 for their company, *Better Bedder has done over $6 million in sales.* Parents who teach their children the value of a dollar and how much you can accomplish in life are amazing. Especially after a divorce and starting over, this mom has taught her children well. It goes to show that anything is possible in life. XO
Barbara: "I wish I was a son of a bitch who says you must answer me or I'm out" when she literally just did that on the Holiball episode LMAO! Also Barbara: "The reason why I need 20% is because I don't think about my investments if they're less than 20%, honest to god." ALSO Barbara: Proceeds to drop offer to 15%.
Right that exactly what I thought when barb was confused why she didn’t get the deal lol. U just told them I don’t think about deals under 20% and proceed to offer 15% , what’s wrong with u
Lmao I LOVE how Kevin always adopts this instigating face when he's out to try and stir stuff up, "What are you gonna DO?" it's actually so funny seeing him that animated.
I'm rooting for Nita. They both struck me as kind, down to earth people but Nita's motivation tells me everything I need to know. The insurance industry is filled with overworked, underappreciated middle aged women. I hope these two make it out and earn enough wealth to spread their joy
That better bedder looks like one of those as seen on tv items that sounds good but probably something that’s rarely used. I don’t like the extra bulky look of stuffed up sheet in it. That’s why you tightly fold under the mattress. You barely have to lift a mattress, I’ve been doing it since I was like 5 years old lol. That’s insanity it took Mark an hour to make his bed. I was a CNA in a nursing home and I had to make approximately 10 beds every morning done perfectly. It takes 5 minutes.
6:25 Someone’s gotta point out our buddy Mark’s math error here aha - an hour a week of bed-making would be only 52 hours a year. Also interesting that his hesitation in not even making his bed is the opposite of Mr. Wonderful’s, who was concerned that it might make the bed look actually less tidy
Honestly Damond is probably the best option here, he has the most knowledge, experience and contacts in this space and could seriously blow this up globally so easily
@You've Been Slain - re: "Honestly" = 1. are you not "honest" all the time? 2. or only when using that meaningless word. 3. gals went with Lori. 4. case closed!
Globally? Half of us don't even sleep on a matters, forget about spending half your monthly salary on a literal polyester ring you can make yourself for 1/10th the cost lmao
@@MultiSciGeek Most people globally DO sleep on a mattress, I feel bad that you got lied to by your parents, but its all good, people here grew up poor too and made it out and I hope you can do, all the best
Barbara was actually in on this deal but Lori snakes it away from her. Lori seems to have this huge advantage over the other sharks purely because of her previous success with QVC and taking products to that next level. She has it easy in the tank. When she wants something, she gets it.
Should have started at 150k for 5% because at 6 months of 500k they could achieve a 3mil valuation in 2 years. Go up in offer to 10% for 2 sharks Daymond for commercial and Lori for D2C. Then get it to 15% or 20% for 2 sharks at 300k. That sounds really reasonable vs only thinking of D2C since its not a repeat purchase for most because its designed to last at least a few years.
1:16 that moment you realize WHY DIDN'T I THINK THAT?! Truly one of those genius SIMPLE ideas that usually takes off like a rocket and makes you wonder how you never thought of it. 👍👍
Daymond was the wise decision for business purposes and to scale. He brought up a good point. These women were set on the shark they wanted before. Barbara messed up by: 1. Making an offer and not putting pressure, and encouraging them to shop around. Although noble, it is a tank with sharks. You don't do that. 2. Stating that she doesn't think of her investments at less than 20%
all the deals were great ones but I think Daymond's vision on what direction the business could go and the target audience was genius. He was thinking out of the box and I believe it would have been a better option.
@Kenneth Capacete - 1. hotels may not want to buy "another product" for their beds, to make life easier for housekeeping. 2. "bedder" would have to be washed regularly, with a new one put on.
I would’ve tried to get Daymond and Lauri together. I feel like that would’ve been an incredible partnership for them. But still a good choice with Laurie
I love how Barbara was like why wouldn’t they have taken my offer but like just before she offered 15% she said she doesn’t think about any of her businesses under 20% 💀💀
What a great product and even better entrepreneurs. For all the people commmenting on Barbara.. She lost the deal, but did anyone notice what she did after? She was shocked, but then genuinely asked Mark what she did wrong - and how she could IMPROVE. She made a truly genuine pitch, and then showed that she isn’t too big to get advice or better herself. I believe that’s why she’s as successful as she is.
Barbra saying she doesn’t pay attention to investments less than 20% then dropping to 18% because Lori did was a big red flag. They made a good decision going with Lori forsure.
To solve the white band/sheet mismatch problem, they could pull the sheet over the band and tuck it in from the bottom of the band. (Provided the sheet is long enough)
The moment she started storing the book, phone and glasses, I was IN! Can't keep my glasses too far from as I cant see too far and I drop them when I keep them near my pillow when I sleep, also I read in bed. This is perfect for me. Just that this will never be available in my country 😔
I love these shows of shark tank ! It encourages me to be a better entrepreneur and come up with new and better ideas ! Next month I am starting my subulation tshirt business which will consist of different items to make with prints ! But with inspiring word ! And I am doing a jerky business for people ! On the television I just watch good inspiration programs ! That I can learn from !
I think Damon was absolutely on the money about this being for commercial use. Majority if not all hotel bedding is white so you can just stick with one color. It would definitely save a lot of time for employees.
@@warriormanmaxx8991 Pretty sure hotel guests would be happy with the quick service. And if they get this done quick it means the employees have more time to do something else.
Barbara: “I don’t think about my investments if they’re less than 20%” Also Barbara: “I don’t understand what happened!” I think they should’ve went with Daymond.. not only would they have households purchasing their products but they would have the entire hospitality industry (bed n breakfast, hotels, motels, inns, etc.).
