Sharkboy and Lavagirl 2 is even dumber than the first one

The sequel never made sense to me considering that we found out in the first one that they were dreams that somehow came to life so how the heck did this entire world of Heroes and aliens come to life since they're supposed to be originally dreams

I think the reason we liked it as kids is that its plot was so bad you could laugh at it and understand why it was horrible even if you were a kid. Also the actor for Linus was too good for such a strange movie.

This actually doesn't make sense with the first movie.

At the very least, I appreciate that the original actress for Lava Girl, Taylor Dooley, showed up for this, schlocky as it is. Taylor Lautner didn't even bother. Yeah, it's a corny movie, and the original was corny, but people loved it anyway, so I think it shows some respect for that nostalgia that Dooley reprised her role.

After seeing an analysis someone did on the first movie, this really just comes off as a Nostalgia grab. It has zero connections to the first movie and completely overlooked the meaning of it. If they wanted to do something similar, Max could've had a kid who ended up having the same kind of vivid dreams and instead parents fighting, maybe they just aren't around as much and that leads to the meaning of their dreams- shenanigans happen, Max finds their dream journal probably and thinks back to when he used to have one and ends up realizing he doesn't spend as much time with them as he should. Man I should be writing these-

Guy even apparently has a "the kid doesn't die" cut of "Planet Terror" for this, which in what i am saying is, I think he liked making movies his kids could watch and a decent amount that could appeal to them once they are teenagers with a few exceptions at the most. Then this movie happened after Spy Kids 4 happened and I'm just like "Please just someone give this guy a budget to make Michelle Kills Again Space, and while your at it battle angel alite II" cause even with the ridicoulous premise of Machete being basically massively overpowered (I buy mexican superhero just he seemed like a human person in the 1st is all still like batman is), or CGI giant eyes girl in her literal anime-dystopia and screwed up world with some getting better character development (yet are told almost nothing about an entire war that changed everything as we know it in favor of futuristic robotic cyborg played roller derby I mean motor ball) would make WAY BETTER FILMS/SEQUELS!

so honestly, I've read some comments and I have a theory. at the end of the movie of Sharkboy and Lavagirl they really do leave the dream world and save Max's parents. this happens after he wakes up and I know they show Sharkboy and Lavagirl back in the dreamworld after that, but we also know they can get out now, so maybe they decided to return to earth as adults and become heroes
