Sharp Dressed Man
Inspired by Creed's "Green Irish Tweed" you might say that Sharp
Dressed Man is Creed's "signature scent." Along with Aventus, these
are two of the most popular niche fragrances and Stirling has done an
excellent job in replicating that formula.
We are hit with notes of Lemon Verbena, violet, iris, sandalwood and
ambergris. It is described as what a walk in the Irish countryside
would smell like, and I'm inclined to agree. Fresh yet masculine,
classic and classy.
The original was created for Cary Grant and I can totally imagine
someone smelling like him when wearing this. The tallow base in the
soap doesn't lose too much of the scent, and it whips into a yogurt
like consistency when developing that lather for longer periods of
time.
Stirling has come to be known as one of the best values for your money
and it applies here. The soap can be found in a 6oz tub for under 15
bucks most times and the splash matches it perfectly and is around 13
bucks give or take. The idea that together you get both a soap and
splash for sub 30 bucks is a winner to my wallet.
I will say that initially I was very lackadaisical about this scent
when I got it, but it very much grew on me and has a permanent spot in
my den. If you're looking for a vegan formulation I would check out
Wickham's Shamrock Tweed over on WCS' website.
