You can sharpen drill bits at factory settings with a simple tool you can make in your workshop. Simple drill bit sharpening. How to sharpen a drill bit the fastest?
The drill has its angles... The drill is sharpened with a rotating movement and by tilting it down so that the cutting surface is lower than the cutting edge... This is knowledge, art and skill, and you won't achieve it with this device, you'll only mislead people. The chips must be identical on both sides of the drill - this is the symmetry of sharpening
the drill sharpening does not need a rotating movement to make a relieved curved surface, the way he is sharpening the bit is fine, with two facets, one lower than the other, the reason a factory bit is curved, is it is easier for them as they have a cam that will move the bit, instead of grinding in two positions... there is relief on his way of sharpening ...... are you familiar with the proper back relief of a drill bit and how the size of the bit will change the relief angle ? please let the other viewers and commenters know ..... I personally own a Black Diamond Drill Bit Sharpening Machine, so I know a little about the sharpening of a drill bit....
I have seen some stupid grinding wheel dressing processes over the years but that one takes the biscuit. Save yourself some time & money & just learn to move the drill bit as you grind it
I used to do from 1.5 mm to about 55 mm by hand and eye ! Sometimes used a square to check Chisel point in dead centre and angle on cut edges same on larger sizes
