Join me as we take a look at the Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker. This is a great way for a beginner to learn to sharpen knives. You can purchase one here: www.spyderco.com/catalog/deta...
Have a good time at SMKW. I’m not going to make the long trip - Case is on my 🤮list right now. Did you make it down to the KY Moonshine Festival @ Red Hill Cutlery this past weekend? Bear & Son were sponsors. I got to meet their Prez, Ken Griffey, and some of the crew.
They work but too much wobble for a consistent edge. I hand sharpen mostly but also used a fixed angle system. You want your bur to go from side to side to fatigue the but not on both sides. I'm not saying it doesn't work buddy just trying to help you a bit with my opinion 😂 appreciate the video and have a blessed day.
I do find the Worksharp has what I would consider an improved version of the Sharpmaker. Might have to try it out sometime. Thanks for sharing the info brother!!
While watching, I noticed that the rods were very unstable. They seemed to wobble a lot. I would be concerned that this would affect the consistency of the edge. Furthermore, with a plastic base, i would think this would worsen over time, as the slot would be worn larger. Did you find that to be the case?
Some of that may have been due to me feeling rushed trying to record the video. I can't say that I've noticed any issue with the consistency of the edge. As you apply pressure, the rods are fairly stable. I'm actually going to leave it setup and use it consistently for my own knife sharpening so we'll see if my opinion changes. Appreciate you asking!
@@Pocket_EDC I really appreciate that. I will say that Worksharp makes a similar sharpener that I'd love to do a comparison with sometime. It does have the ability to pick multiple edge angles whereas Spyderco only has 2 choices.
