First off i am sorry that this is such a long video...So I love these knives y’all know that, but I’ve never done a start to finish video on one. If you remembered a while back John Grimsmo asked folks to send videos of how they sharpen them but due to a hiccup the videos never made it to him. So I decided to do a full video of a sharpening from stat to finish and talked to John about just providing a link to him so he can use any portion of it that he wants on his channel.

Don't apologise for the length of the video. I like the more in depth content as it helps with my own sharpening. It will also help when I eventually get my blade makeing fully going. Thank you 👍

Wow. That's the most unique method of sharpening a convex I've seen. The skinny stones are the answer . Just subbed.👍

Appreciate you sharing your unique method and process for sharpening this complex knife. I wince whenever I see a Fixed Angle sharpener used to "reprofile" the beautiful convex leading edge of this knife. What a shame when that happens! Nice job getting the convex edge back after the hack job done on this blade. For me, I feel I can touch up the convex edge nicely on some pliable substrate using a mix of fine papers, but I think if the edge is chipped or damaged, I prefer a series of belts to save time. Afterall, time is money, right?

Dude u put my wicked edge to shame. May I ask how long total time this took? Sometimes I'm on my WE for multiple hours sharpening one knife, most of the time is spent profiling

I can usually do about 3 knives an hour… this one was a full edge repair so I think it took me about an hour and a half before I sped up the footage. Most of that is because tantos are like sharpening two different knives
