SharpGrade 1.8m Compact Leveller with optional retracting front wheel is the latest release from the Progressive Group.
A Compact Leveller specifically designed for small machines in the 30-50 HP class, the SharpGrade Compact series is a top performer, increasing versatility and productivity. It can be used in either direction, blading, pulling back, levelling, carrying, trimming and cutting.
This unit is controlled by a Leica Powerblade system, giving a precise finish every time.
The blade may be manually operated by the 4 in 1 control at any time, with or without the laser control connected. This speeds the initial manual levelling operation as is demonstrated by the video.
The productivity due to the high maneuverability is evident.
The compact design allows the operator to manoeuvre into tight spots with confidence. With a flick of a lock, the optional retracting front wheel lifts out of the way, to allow the operator to get right up to a wall or curb.
As with all SharpGrade Levellers, the patent pending QuadRod system keeps the blade rigid and true at all times, providing mm accuracy.
The SharpGrade Compact series is available in single or dual grade options. It can be upgraded at any time from single to dual grade.

I guess as he owns the machine he can drive it how he likes. The SharpGrade Leveller responds so quickly you can drive significantly faster than any other box blade leveller on the market.

Terex can do that all day every day

@@richardrasmussen7334 Not if I have the payments. I might need it the following day. I understand "go real fast and get to the next job" I also understand a wear hole, machines wear. I have a much harder time with a tear hole. Particularly if all that time we saved "going real fast" is lost in down time and parts. I would rather hire someone that is not beating the daylights out of the tractor. I will hire and pay a person that is interested in extending the life of the machine and keeping it out of the shop and getting the job done in a safe, quality fashion.

The only way this guy keeps his job is if he is the owner.

looks like it works pretty well why not put a bucket on and get the stuff laid out first though

There was 150m3 spread and leveled to within +/- 3mm (1/8") in under 2 hours with 50HP. The time taken to stop and change to a bucket would be much slower in the long run. He was spreading on grade over 1m3 per minute . You would struggle to spread any faster with a bucket, but then you would have to trim to height after that. A dual grade SharpGrade is even faster, spreading and trimming to grade on average 2m3 per minute for this HP.

That machine was a piece of crap non turbo. Really struggled. What the video doesn’t show is the line of trucks up the road and the operator standing there watching saying there’s too many trucks. I had to catch up clean up his mess to get a level pad and then build up in 20mm layers, can’t fault the sharpgrade it took everything we threw at it. And for the record that Terex did 4000hours with not an ounce of issue. Maybe a speedy headless chicken but have never backed into anything or damaged any of my machines in 10 years ;-)

If you charge by the hour, I'm hiring you.

I wouldn't use that tool in such a manner on a daily basis. There's not enough meat on there and you're stressing wear points considerably faster than you need to. Great instance of what it can do without breaking, but you're using the wrong tool for a pile of dirt. It takes less than a minute to put the bucket on.

It is levelling as it spreads: something a bucket can't do. This was the first time the operator had used the SharpGrade. His approach to a job would be a lot different now. SharpGrade Levellers are used daily for all manner of jobs and are rapidly replacing bucket spread material. Few operators put their bucket when levelling sand pads with a SharpGrade as they are deceptively quick . He spread and levelled 150m3 to within +/- 3mm (1/8" in under 2 hours. Not bad for a 50HP machine and first time user. This is only a single grade unit. The dual grades will level even faster. He needs a bit more HP. The PT50T, Cat 239, T190 etc. drive these levellers really well.

This is a great example to not buy a Terex. They have no power.

Which machine do you have?

I was thinking that too. I can't figure out if he is carrying so much material that it's bogging the machine down or if the machine is just under-powered?
