2.2m HD SharpGrade, TurfGrader & Leica 3D machine control user experience by Rohits Civil & Infrastructure Ltd - NZ.
Rohit has been using the SharpGrade since Sept 2017, working with it in 3D and acquiring an accuracy of 3-15mm on the finish surface depending upon the roll in the surface.
Using the TurfGrader with the SharpGrade has increased his production by upto 30%, has increased the amount of material he can carry and at the same time has reduced the trackwear and fuel usage on his base machine.
The TurfGrader is a Box Rake style attachment that can be set to work the ground & material infront of the SharpGrade, making it easier to cut the material. In so doing it helps the carrier machine by taking out some of the aggression required to cut material from hard surfaces. Which in turn helps to protect the carrier tools drive train.
The TurfGrader is also able to be angled up and in that position it allows more material to be carried by the SharpGrade.
Ideally to power the TurfGrader on a 2.2m model your tool carrier would ideally need 80 L/m oil flow for breaking out compacted ground. You can get away with a bit less if its for just moving loose material, it would just turn a bit slower.
The SharpGrade is controlled by Leica machine control and on this particular setup it is a 3D package.
This package can be set up to run on all Skid & Tele Skid Steer Loaders, Tracked & Wheeled compact loaders.
