The 13mm 1.4 is equally as impressive, and even covers full frame lenses leaving performance on the table. I would classify that one as their first PRO lens
@@jorayjoseph6442 I wish it had wdathersealing to be most perfect and ready for the elements of weather, or if they update it with weathersealing it will be the smartest move!
I use this lens on a Sony a6700. It puts to shame many 2500+ euro/usd lenses from reputable manufacturers. This lens really lives up to it's PRO label(metal construction, weather sealing, wide F1.2 aperture, sharp, fast AF), excepting it's price: for this price, SoCaNikon sells cheap plastic crap not even sharp at F1.8. This really makes me think how badly we are screwed by the big camera manufacturers for the astronomic price of their lenses. Also, lenses like these really prove that APS-C format makes a lot of sense, as you get incredible quality pictures for less money and less weight to carry.
These are great comparisons. It really helps in my choice between these three lenses. I think I will go with the Viltrox now. I shoot a lot of headshots around this focal range, so this will work out perfectly for me.
@@caliallstaring If possible, hope you make a comparison video for the portrait shooting to see how different of the bokeh. That's also a great one. I never own any Viltrox lens, but this 75mm made me change my mind. Again, thanks for the video.
Fujinon 56mm is a bit lighter than Viltrox 75mm assuming the exact same exposure. I own the version 1 lens and feel the same in reality. The better quality of lens glass and coatings of Fuji contributes to the difference, I think. Viltrox is sharper and more value for money.
Thanks for this comparison! I like to do environmental portraits my FF with the 135mm f1.8. I was waiting patiently for something from Fuji to get have something comparable. The 90mm f2 wasn't cutting it for what I was looking for. But this viltrox just might do... Now just have to see if they'll release an x-pro4!
Thanks for the comparison. Just one remark : the flowers are a little bit more exposed for the Fuji XF 56 1,2 than the two others lenses : it could explain the difference of contrast. BTW : the viltrox is a very fine lens. I am happy to have pre ordered one
Haha 😊🙌✨ this 75mm F1.2 is so nice and $400 less than the new 56mm WR :) it depends on your situation, this is a great unique lens to own in this system 👌🏼😄
From bokeh standpoint, Viltrox 75mm has the most enjoyment currently, and it has the sharpness to back it up the images as well, not only the smooth bokeh. The 56mm WR is great with closer distance and other settings, Viltrox 75mm is unique in Fuji x mount to have this shallower depth of field 😊
Just the comparison we have all been waiting for! Thank you for your work! If you could only own one of these 3 lenses for portraits (disregarding the price) which one would you choose?
Thank you so much 😊 after 2 photoshoots with 75mm F1.2, I am very impressed with its performance. Slightly leaning toward that one. It has unique focal for the Fuji line-up. 56mm WR has better minimal focus distance, it will be suitable for more situations, but 75mm F1.2 is pretty specialized.
I wanted to get the Fuji90f2.0 soon. But the Viltrox75f1.2 looks very interesting, not only for its bokeh and sharpness but also for the low light capability. However there are two drawbacks for me personally: (1) the max. magnification is much smaller than the one of the 90 and (2) 75mm rectangular filters do not fit, so I would have to get 100mm filters. Hard decision between the Fujinon 90 and the 75 Viltrox....
Oh yes 👌🏼 both lenses are very sharp :) 1.2 getting some extra light to the sensor so that you can have lower iso. yeah, the filter size is bigger 77mm filter size.
@@thomasackermann6097 90mm still has the best auto focus with 4 motors inside the Linear design. However, the Viltrox 75mm auto focus is pretty good to me in my two previous POV videos, AF-C eye AF has no issues for me and it nailed the eye in focus. It feels like a native lens auto focus.
Heard that the Viltrox 75mm F1.2 have focus hunting problem wide open, do you encounter it. The Focus speed is slower than the Fuji 56mm F1.2WR & Fuji 50mm F1.0 WR?
I didn’t have that issue. You can check out in this POV video that I have: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6Z5WSaPv7Dk.html it was pretty smooth for me and the AF-C eye AF was above 90 percent hit rate. I think the review video about hunting is shooting from a bottle from close and the far away. But in mu POV test, it is Eye AF detect, so I haven’t encountered hunting in my two POV tests in my channel since those were how I usually shoot in real life 😊 for auto focus, it feels snappy even better than the 56 WR or 50mm F1.0, 50mm F1.0 on the XH2 I will hear the noise from the lens in AF-C eye-Af, but 75mm Viltrox is quieter than 50 F1.0.
@@caliallstaring Did you use a crop sensor or full frame camera for this comparison? I was scared that 75mm lens would make focal length too big on crop sensor but this looks fine.
75 mm lens is awesome but I assume it is a bit inconvenient to shoot with 75 mm inside by the reason of a far distance to an object. 56 mm more flexible and easier. am I right?
Yes, it is not intended for tight space like small coffeeshop. The minimum focus distance is 0.88, it will be hard to shoot across the coffee table. In a big coffeeshop indoor, that should be fine 😊
🙌✨😊 it has the most shallow depth among the three for the 75mm F1.2, as you can see how it blurred out the logo in the backpack example :) and it has the top level sharpness 👌🏼
If a want to buy just one lense for portrait, with max budget 600 $. Which lense to choose ? 56mm sigma, this 75mm, or maybe another one ? I have for now xt4 with 16-80 only..
I think 75mm F1.2 will have better bokeh because of the F1.2 wide open, which has allowed more light into the sensor. It will have a similar result like the 90 F2 in this video in the blur area. The 75mm F1.2 will have the shallower depth of field 😊 I have a version 1, I will do a quick test later.
@@caliallstaring Yes but what about the speed compared to the 56 WR?? I just received mine and I don't trust the AF, even with standing subject. The AF is simply bad, you feel it, you hear it. Too slow. Even with a static object the AF can go back and forth and never really stabilize...
I own 56, i want to have longer focal length, is it better 90 or 75? It seems like the 56 and 75 not much difference in focal lengths, i think 75 will be redundant if I already have the 56… but the bokeh of 75 is so smooth… how do you think?
75mm has nice bokeh and the image is sharpest, and F1.2 allows more light than F2 90mm for better low light, 90mm has the best auto focus performance. It depends if you like image quality slightly better and shoot some more at night? Or you want to go for 90mm with also very good quality images, but F2 less light to the sensor and you have to increase more iso. About 2 stops more.
@@caliallstaring yes the 75 has more bokeh and sharper, but i love my 56, if i buy the 75 it will be redundant to the 56… if i dont have 56, i will definitely buy the 75… i just dont want to sell my 56 currently. Thanks for your reply any way.
Great Video as always! One question! How is the Viltrox 75mm 1.2 weight? I'll be using it with an x-h1 so it'll probably less of a problem than an xt-30 or x-e4, but still want to make sure it would be comfortable. Heaviest lens I own is the 10-24 f4. Lol
You said with the bokeh comparisons that the bokeh of the 56 was in the middle. But both times I felt it was shallower than the 75. Of course the biggest factors on depth of field is not aperture but focal length and distance to subject. So, really I think it depends how you like to shoot. Same distance to the subject the 90 and 75 should have almost identical depth of field, but the images will be different. But with the image the same size in the frame, for sure the 75 will have the edge over the 90 - so ideal for full body. But the 56 should achieve even shallower DoF as it's much closer. What i love about the 90: flattering, oragnic rendering and compression with smooth bokeh. I have the old 56. The new one still seems to lack contrast compared to the othet two, but the closer focussing is very attractive. 75 is a very nice focal length. I have the samyang version, it's also very sharp across the frame... But for me a travel and for fun lens as the bokeh can be swirly and a bit nervous. The Viltrox 75 looks a very nice option. I dont think it can replace the other two, as it's just different. Can you have too many portrait lenses?
Portrait lenses require portrait photography in order to see their strengths and weaknesses. You want to see the fast eye AF, the skin tones and quality of bokeh😂. Great video but people will buy these lenses for shooting people so makes sense to prioritize portrait photography
agree on the colors. Both the Fuji lenses pop better. bokeh, i think the Viltrox wins. For me when i shoot, the feel of the images is more important for me.
