I wonder if people will be sensible about their water use now that there is all that water in the reservoirs. Or will they fall back into old habits and just not care how much they've used.
It would have been a great bargain had they dug out the accumulated sediments from existing reservoirs to increase their holding capacity when the water was low. But they didnt and a handfull of loudmouth, irrational crybabies will do everything they can to prevent any new reservoir capacity from being established. Big swaths of what once was natural storage, now in flooded farmland are filling which on one hand is a good thing for anyone who needs a shower in California, but bad for everyone who eats. Soon all that precious water that is in overabundance at the moment will be wasted to the ocean. 4 years from now the lakes will be empty again and people crying about climate change all over again. You just cant take a step forward when your Siamese twin keeps shooting you in the foot. California is so F'ed and most of them dont realize it yet.
