Oh hey, I commissioned this track. So, I should probably start off explaining this Matchup. A-lot of people already know Bill, since he’s had a DB of his own already, but Godzilla Ultima on the other hand is pretty unknown. Ultima is the Godzilla from the “Godzilla: Singular Point” Series. Where Godzilla is a Reality-Bending, mathematical, Being of the Apocalypse. He even has an actual ability that fights Triangles, I’m not kidding 💀💀. It is even further mentioned in Prologue of the Novelisation [of the show], that Ultima is actually an Azathoth-like Creature that Dreams up all of reality. With Every single Universe being merely a dream to him, only for him to send down Avatars as Godzillas to destroy them from within. (It even pretty much implies that every other Godzilla is an Avatar of Ultima, and that he transcends every Universe that has a Godzilla in it). So yeah! Reality-Bending, Harbingers of the Apocalypse that come from another dimensional plane of existence- with one being a Creator of Dreams & the other being an Invader of Dreams. (There is another, core, part of its theme- but its a heavy spoiler for G:SP). So for the track itself, I wanted it to be quite orchestral and darker to really fit the tones of both characters. Even though Bill is primarily thought-of as goofy and wacky, he is still extremely terrifying and graphic. Overall, I absolutely love this track. Completely portrays the characters to their max [if that makes sense].
Yesterday, I saw Godzilla vs. Kong for the first time. Today, I learned that apparently there's a Godzilla comparable to a reality bending eldritch god.
So funny fact, in the Singular Point novel, Godzilla listens in on the conversation in the sub, and can understand human speech. Meaning he can understand that Bill would be talking crap to and about him
@@bigmaxethanschannel1428When you add all the angles of any triangle together it's 180°. Ultima bends reality to a point where this mathematical certainty is shattered
@@davidbegbieTechnically speaking, he’s warping local Euclidean geometry into hyperbolic geometry (aka “triangle angles sum less than 180 degrees,” looks like a saddle from a distance)
Godzilla Ultima damages the stability of reality to the point where Bill can invade without needing a contract. He sees the grim reality of a world left devastated by Godzilla and finds it boring, he decides Godzilla needs a lesson in weirdness
The best way to imagine this MU is that Wiz and Boomstick, who are tired of Bill, plan to pit him against Ultima so he can lose. Similar to Deadpool vs Mask. Wiz: Hey Boomstick... Boomstick: *sighs* Yeah, Wiz? I'm tryna relax here. Wiz: Oh don't worry, you'll get to relax *all* you want after what I'm planning. Boomstick: No offense Wiz, but did ya forget about a certain cyclops triangle messing with our show? Wiz: Trust me, I didn't. I actually think I found a way to get rid of Cipher, once and for all... Boomstick:........I'm listenin'. Then, Godzilla Ultima's figure slowly appears in the background.
@rexyjp1237 oh, right. Thanks for reminding me. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go have a mental breakdown over the fact that there are THREE versions of Godzilla that could beat Bill.
Bill: OH SWEET! A New Death Battle Soundtrack! Hey Yates... Maybe Try Making a Soundtrack Where I Won't Fight some Dragon thing, That'll Really Help Me Out in So Many Different Triangle Ways!
@@ryanconnell4084 Actually, this could be a really fucking awesome exchange. Bill, on the brink of defeat, says that line. However, as he'd likely be facing IT, the true form of Godzilla Ultima, it could possibly retort back with: "YOU ARE MY DREAM." Before being absorbed into the massive, Hyperversal tree, then coming out as a brainwashed shadow of himself. Just another set of eyes. A branch on the tree. A shadow of his former self.
@lolstalgic9602 he actually couldn't. DB made it sound the battle is super even - but they introduced dimensional tiering in that episode. Which makes Bill so much stronger than Discord. Even if he had a rematch, the result will always be the same.
@@lolstalgic9602 it doesn't really matter, Bill is far more powerful than Discord, who, while the embodiment of chaos, wasn't actually much of a threat to the universe as a whole, Bill's mere existence was a threat to, oh, wait, what was it? Oh right, ALL OF EXISTENCE
I don't know much about this version of Godzilla but I'm laughing at the mental image of Godzilla stepping on Bill (at least before Bill decides to get bigger).
Which is gonna have him scared even more once he sees that True Form Godzilla Ultima is bigger than a Universe and spreads himself thought entire Dimensions to make them a part of him or destroy them💀💀💀
@@Godzilla_Beast_of_Revelation not only that, he transcends space and time and laws of physics don’t apply to him and not only that!. He’s so large he apparently has a multiverse within his body that contain a cluster of entities that think independently but are apart of him and they can control and bend universes to their will and they also act as Godzilla Ultimas eyes.
Look, Bill is OP AF. But I heard a LOT of people talk about how Godzilla Ultima would win. So if Bill loses, I won't be mad. I know Bill is really powerful, but I'm not biased. XD
@@lolstalgic9602 Depends on which version your talking about, a lot of the time big G is more often then not described as an abomination and was literally conceived as “The Child of the Atomic Bomb”
@@xxJC22xx That's why I said neutral. One of the themes behind the behind the Atom Bomb is humanity playing God. Big G himself has always really had one rule: Leave me alone. And you know how Bill is
@@Yippie_Yeehaw-A56 He can't even die because the entire Accord Arc explains that as long he, as chaos exists he "will exist in those who desire order" He literally manifested through other beings. An entire comic book storyline disregarded
That son of a gun Conek actually did it. They commissioned a Billtima track. At least I assume Conek did it. No one else really pushes Billtima as much as they do so I doubt anyone else would fork over the cash to commission a track for the MU.
Since the lore complex, I am so happy Godzilla is finally being recognized as one of not potentialyl one of the strongest characters in fiction. I mean, there is so much info I cannot fit into this comment. But one question, is Singular Point shin godzilla? Or another varient of him seeing how he has similar tail size and such.
Fun fact: this song now puts Gojira with 5 commissioned tracks as the most commissioned character along with Sonic (5 tracks) and Yang (4 tracks + In Semblance Forever which has the whole RWBY crew). Hooray I suppose. Y'know, there's a grand total of two popular matchups that I've learned to absolutely despise because of how badly they fit the characters on multiple levels. The first one is Hulk VS Gojira which I dread the day it'll inevitably happen. The second one is Bill Cipher VS Gojira Ultima which I am particularly glad it'll never happen but that I recognized had a singular good thing about it: its track potential was absolutely through the roof because of how well Singular Point/Godzilla OST and Gravity Falls OST could work. And does it work ? I'd say it could be better but it most definitely succeeds in what it strives to do. It tries to go for a more atmospheric, score-like theme that encapsulates the two characters' eldritch horror vibes with very ominous and grandiose orchestral segments and on that side it succeeds absolutely masterfully. I particularly like the progression that the song has. I've mentioned how much I absolutely despise that matchup because of how wrong it gets both Ultima and Bill and the lack of a dynamic the matchup has (It's just Bill beating up on a giant lizard that can't hit him back for a few minutes until either he dies to some representation of Gojira that doesn't even have a canonical visual look or he actually manages to kill Gojira for good. There's nothing more to it) but I must fully commend the track because it still manages to make that dynamic work in a musical form. I say that because the song manages to have a smooth yet notable transition throughout its whole duration in how it feels. The song starts out sounding very ominous and antagonistic but it also doesn't have a ton of scale and even has a relatively fast and almost "upbeat" feel to it at times to represent how the battle would begin with Bill just thinking about Ultima like a giant brainless lizard that he can throw around as he wishes (because he actually can (reminder that Ultima in the anime has absolutely nothing that can remotely hurt Bill, let alone kill him)). But as we progress through the song we get a slow increase in scale and grandeur as the two expose their more eldritch abilities starting at around 1:45 where chants begin to pick up for the first time in the song as Ultima showcases the first bit of its reality-bending powers (which, given, are pretty much fan-fiction anyways because the only reality-bending thing it does in the anime is throw out Red Mist so that's not much), surprising Bill as he's obligated to start considering his options at this point, which is why we get a break right after that short segment as Bill would realize that he actually needs to try to defeat that giant lizard, causing once again an increase in scale. And I'll particularly note that, in the following segment starting at 2:15, we get a nice effect happening where the main brass notes at the beginning of the segment slowly start turning into synth notes as they go up to 2:44 when the segment ends. That's a really nice way to represent escalation and how the two would unleash more and more reality-altering abilities at one another as the battle goes on. Then, the following segments are quite interesting as they change the atmosphere of the track a bit. While the prior parts of the track sounded ominous and menacing, the song starting from 2:44 starts feeling almost sad and tragic. Obviously this isn't a showcase of some sad backstory the characters have but to me this shows the despair of every living being in the area of the universe the battle takes place as they start taking in the sheer destruction and chaos of two eldritch beings (well, one eldritch being and a giant lizard) fighting one another as they can do nothing but await their inevitable doom and despair. I could easily imagine this short 2:44-3:00 segment having a sort of "outside" POV where you don't actually see the two fighting but just get a far away camera angle with chaotic attacks and atomic beams shooting up in the sky, destroying everything in their path. That's even further emphasized by the fact that it's at this point in the song where the instruments start to fully shift into much more alien and bizarre-sounding notes at 3:45 which, to me, would represent Ultima's transition from its avatar to its true form to engage Bill on fully even grounds as the two shatter and bend all of space and time at will to try and fully take down the opposing chaos god/destructive deity they're facing. This would be the only part of the matchup that could have an interesting fight to me (well, that is if we actually had any idea what Gojira's true form can do because rn anything one can come up with is fan fiction on that side) because it's where, unlike what Bill VS Discord did, we'd be able Bill fully reaching his eldritch lovecraftian horror abilities as he'd be enraged that another deity would dare to try and take his spot as a god. It'd even have an acceptable dynamic as Godzilla's pretty much only character trait in singular point is that it hates all life and wishes it gone so you could very well have Gojira's true form take the shape of a "god of order" that wishes all of reality and beyond to reach a state of stagnancy while of course Bill wants the total opposite. Mind you, this still doesn't make the matchup good (if your matchup relies on only a quarter or so of the characters' beings being showcased to be good then it isn't) but it's acceptable as a dynamic. And, to return back on topic, the track showcases that really well because it's at this point that we approach the ending of the track and by extension the fight where we first get a small break as the setup for the winner of the battle starts being laid out at 4:29 as the tension rises and apprehension builds up to know which of the two abominations will come out on top of the other, only for the song to break down at 4:45 in a chaotic orchestra as the to-be winner of the battle fully unleashes all their power, completely overwhelming the other in their divine abilities, giving the song a twisted holy feeling to it to make it clearly audible that what's being shown here is the full power of an ascended being, only that said being is an antagonistic eldritch monster. I imagine it'd be something akin to the ending of Ant-Man VS The Atom except much more sombre and chaotic with the winner taunting the loser on how all this time they had been but playing with the other and how they are so powerful themselves that their enemy cannot feasibly comprehend the power they've been meddling with. A sort of grand reveal where the loser tries their hardest to break through this impossibly powerful being they're faced with in a last ditch struggle only to get fully erased out of any and all planes of existence while they cry out in despair, leaving the winner to bask either in the perfect orderly nothingness if Gojira wins or in absolute horrifying chaos if Bill wins. This ending segment is a really nice representation of perhaps the only interesting part this matchup would have if it were to be made into a fight. Almost makes me want to reconsider my dislike for the matchup which is to say how good it is, a nice representation of the track as a whole and a great conclusion to it. Overall the whole song has a good escalation and while it doesn't go over the top completely chaotic like what Discordant Decipher does I think it actually benefits the track as it puts into perspective how, while Bill VS Discord was about two chaotic beings fighting one another in a semi-comedic, semi-serious tone, this battle would be one between two eldritch abominations struggling for power with one of them being a deity that wants "order" in erasure and nothingness (I say that but that's essentially headcanon as Godzilla in Singular Point is a very one-note bad guy that just wants to destroy the universe because it hates life without reason so take that with a grain of salt) while the other is a chaos god that wishes nothing more than total anarchy, which explains why the track doesn't really go into the weird and absurd side of things aside from the start of it which is the only place where Bill would really have a chance to showcase his chaotic powers in a comedic way. Really, if it weren't for the fact that Singular Point's rendition of Godzilla is such a bad take on the Kaiju, this matchup could likely work quite a lot which is one of the reasons I dislike it so much. But that's besides the point in all of that which is that, while I avoided comparison with Bill VS Discord and Discordant Decipher throughout my review, this track works as a really good antithesis to it due to how the characters would behave in this fight compared to the other. It manages to work something that has almost no potential into a really good song that stands out massively and actually has a solid progression that makes the whole thing feel fitting and fluid. It does justice to the very few actually good traits that Singular Point Godzilla has (which isn't that hard given it has very few of them) and most importantly fully respects Bill which is much more difficult to do and which is extremely appreciable to hear. It doesn't shy away from not going the classic way of "haha funny tophat triangle !!!" and actually showcases the more horrifying and higher planar side of Bill which is really appreciable. So for having made a matchup that I absolutely despise into a great song, I do congratulate Brandon. Amazing job as always with this.
I hate to break it to you, but Your sleeping on just how powerful Ultima is. He warps reality simply by existing, and the novel makes him even more powerful. Yes, Ultima does have the means to harm and ultimately kill this Dorito. The reality warping thing ain't fanfiction, it's something he passively does because by all accounts, he shouldn't exist, and yet he does, and it's breaking reality as a result. The anime even states that near Ultima, a triangle's Total angles are less than 180 degrees. A physical impossibly, but this happens simply by Ultima existing in our realm
Godzilla Ultima is essentially an entity from another dimension sending an avatar down to our reality that can fuck shit up bad enough to distort space-time without showing its true self
@@aidenmb7932 Okay, that's definitely way more impressive than I was expecting, but does that entail that U. Godzilla has an actual way to destroy Bill? Even on that scale, conventional power isn't a reliable win condition against him.
@@crimsonchaos7224simple. The Catastrophe. Basically the longer that avatar stays in our reality, the more reality itself is strained until multiple universes collapse on top of one another. @@nathanaelmetzger9042 Okay wow, the Godzilla universe is way crazier than I thought. I still think Bill has at least a decent chance at victory, but y'all have sufficiently moved me away from my "Bill stomps" mindset I had when I first saw this matchup.

He doesn’t. Ultima’s avatar can destroy the universe it resides in by simply existing and can make the impossible possible by existing. That was actually the Theme I chose to represent Ultima when commissioning this (specifically the Odd Future Ver.), But I also wanted to let Brandon have more control on the Track so, it’s more just an overarching-“theme” for the track instead of a one to one usage of it.
