This video is special, it features the TBC capital in its full glory, with players roaming around, like in the old days. This couldn't be possible without Karliky (Bugcraft) and the Netherwing server. Big thanks for helping me create this video
I have a reversed way. Started wow at two last weeks of tbc. Wotlk consumed my life for 2 years entirely. I was living from savings and playing every day and don’t regret it. Shattrath has more intimidating sound btw.
@@panhuragan4388 I was in a similar boat. Started wow with TBC, but I reached level 70 and began raiding with only 5-6 months left before WOTLK dropped. I was a kid then, but ended up being on one of the best PVP teams in the US and topping the DPS meters in every raid our guild had. I've tried to go back and play WOTLK servers, but it just doesnt grab my focus like it did. It forever will be a nostalgia fever dream and listening to BC soundtracks give me that sense of wonder and achievement that I will only remember from my childhood.
I'm sitting here at home doing my final grading for my university students. It's 5/7/2024. Spring has arrived, and the slow transition to Summer is beginning. It's a dark, overcast day with a steady rain outside that I can watch and hear right outside the window at my working desk. It's been such a busy semester with excessive workloads. It's a nice relief to finally be going down hill here at the end of the term. I love listening to your ambience tracks when I do this kind of work, Meisio. I played WoW from March of 2005 through June of 2022: Vanilla through Shadowlands. Raided every tier, cleared every raid, lead our guild from TBC-Shadowlands, lead our raid team during that time, too. Our guild was/is Obsidian Spur, and my main was/is Wretchedmist. Lots of fond memories. WoW, especially mythic raiding, just became so horrible as the years went on. An absurd amount of time, energy, and frustration. Was it worth it? I'm not sure to be honest. If it wasn't for the countless one-shot and insta-raid wiping mechanics I may still be playing, even with the heavy loads in real life. WoW changes in so many ways over the years, and not for the better, specifically at the guild and raiding level.
Miss these days so much. Classic can’t bring back the friends, guilds, wonder, and awe that BC gave. I’m an old man now, thinking back fondly about the friends I made in BC who are no longer with us or who have moved on. Trying not to be negative, but it’s hard. Hold on to your friends and your memories. Both are invaluable.
I'm an old woman now, and I feel the same way. It's what brings me here to Meisio's videos. Pleasant echoes of a long-gone past I miss dearly. Revel in the memories, what we experienced was truly special.
I wouldn't say I'm old but after everything I do come back to these videos for good memories. The nostalgia that can't be replicated. Maybe when I have kids I can try to relive this again.
TBC was when I first came into the game. I can remember when SSC was new, BT first opened, and how only the best on the server could make it to the last boss of Sunwell. It holds, for me anyway, some of my best times playing this game. I can't tell you how many hours I would spend in Shatt just sitting on my flying mount listening to the music, reading trade chat, and watching the other players run around.
I always loved this city. All the creatures in the forests below but you were "safe" within the city. Come to think of it, I get the feeling from a lot of the cities in WoW and I think that has contributed to my love of the game! I'm the type of person that loves sitting on a cozy porch watching it rain with a nice cup of hot tea, etc.
47:55 this transition always evokes such powerful nostalgia. I don’t know why but the music of the burning crusade has always evoked incredibly powerful atmosphere and imagery for me that cements it in a special place in my heart.
Back in the day I thought Blizzard couldn't mess up any more than taking away both factions' stand alone classes. Boy I didn't know how fckd up Blizz became in 2018+
i remember back in the day just logging in the morning drinking my coffee with my gf listening to ambiant city before heading off to work thinking about if we ere gonna wipe again in the raid at night good memories with guildmates time flys by..
Thank you for all your videos. I am unable to play it anymore for a variety of reasons but I miss it very much. Thanks to you I can revisit every area of the game any time I want and reminisce, thank you you rock.
Was always so excited for tbc, but twice now, original and classic, just got so burnt out after hitting max level then quitting. But man some great zones and memories as always
Hey Peter, Sorry for the late reply. Happy you are enjoying it :) I've been thinking for a long time on doing this one and now I had the opportunity to make it, thanks to some new friends :) Salutations
I'll never forget exploring Shattrath with a friend I made. We both rolled level 1 gnomes on Lightning's Blade, a PVP server and pretended to be orphans in the orphanage there. The moment we stepped out into Terrokar Forest a large Tauren warrior on a small Wyvern descended on my friend who'd run ahead, instantly killing her. It was so hilarious and I'll never forget the image of that giant player just making his slow descent down to her.
i played classic to cataclysm and this what you are saying is a completly other game. they fucked up this game so hard.. but i hope you had also happy and good times spending in this
Couldn't even follow Khadgar's servant and complete the escort quest back then, due to the lag... was falling off elevators half the times I tried to take them, etc. But, when you listen to this music it's almost like a dream, you can't feel anger... Don't ever wake me up...
I couldn't follow my own NPC / servant because I was following someone else's servant :'D Different cause but the same frustration :D Hey Hawkstrike! :)
@@Meisio sounds more fun, actually, haha. Noobish things like these usually make some of the best memories... too bad you can't freeze time and stay young and in Shattrath forever (without the lag, preferably). Then again, I don't even truly like the way it looks, I think, I just love this region's general gloominess and the idea of sanctuaries (peace...). But, nothing would be the same without Uelmen's particular masterpiece, yh. That npc can try to guide me all it wants, I'll keep focusing on the music+ambience instead... Needless to say I should never set my hearthstone there, would take me days to leave and get quests done. Though, I often end up sitting at the AH and chat too much anyway... I might as well do this there with a twink or two, next xpack, if life lets me. Whoever cares to do only older content in Shadowlands (TBC and WotLK), we should talk. Sadly I don't play classic (and I won't ever do that seriously, most likely - I'd want to play non-stop, which can't and shouldn't happen) so I can't find ppl who would care that way, but chances are these will stick to classic and do the original old content. Oh well.
Thank You ! muchisimas gracias es una reliquia para todos aquellos que amamos wow of warcraft .un saludo desde el sur de españa de uno viejo de 44 años que sigue jugando a wow desde sus inicios..
Always loved how well Shattrath evokes the kind of ancient Indian temple city vibe. The lower city with all the refugees from across the broken world, the Aldor and the Scryers with their separate terraces, and at the heart of it all the divine Naaru. So unique to the warcraft universe, absolutely amazing!
The mount sounds, the occasion spells, laughter are things which I remember most when it comes to city ambiences :) I was afraid people will tell me it is distracting, and I've made a lot of tests before setting the sound levels. But it's still a very tough ones, because speakers and perceptions are different. Thank you Carlos
What's that beeping noise that runs through almost the entire video? Once you focus on it, you can't ignore it. At minute 2:30 you can hear it. (Is difficult to focus it at the first time) If you don't hear it, everything's fine. Maybe I'm just crazy :D PS: I love Shattrath, reminds me of old times. The world (of Warcraft) was still all right then.
And the lore? (And many more but I don't want to enter into a big discussion :) ) Of course, it is your opinion, and I respect that since it is exposed in a civilized manner.
Lookin for a fight??? TBC fo life! *battlecry* "The only good thing about TBC is WotLK" doesn't even sound right. And you're just hating on it... "and portals back to vanilla zones" 😏 like no zone of Outland looked interesting. At least you can appreciate the music..! Nothing wrong with unpopular opinions, but when an opinion is one-sided and ignores almost everything good about something, it's just (mostly) wrong. Not really trying to argue about a game and your personal taste, btw. I'm just offering a general approach/advice.
