When this was the only movie out by these three dudes....I thought it was the best thing ever, but I might even vennture to say, I obviously still LOVE this movie, but its probably my least favorite of the three. Hot Fuzz being my favorite. Worlds End is a VERY close second. They REALLY nailed those two movies and this one kind of pales in comparison, like I said I still absolutely love it and come back and watch it hahah.
@@0okaminoI just feel like it’s common city pigeons and animals are allot more ballsy I was in London the other week and could not believe how big and fat this squirrel was not just that but he stood right next too me too eat his nut which they never normally do So I gotta think pigeons in like New York gotta be crazy lol
The use of the N word before around the early 2010s was frowned upon, but depending on where you lived, it wasn’t really frowned upon much more than the word “cunt”. In fact some would’ve been more upset by “cunt”. It was primarily ignorance, but there was also this notion that if you were progressive, you weren’t racist, you got along with everybody, so for the sake of shock value, you dropped an N-Bomb to make people laugh, kinda like Nick Frost did in the film. If you grew up in a primarily white community with few or no minorities, you were more focused on the personal context behind why you used the word, having no ill intent and purely using it like any other curse word, and not yet empathetic to the broader context of why you shouldn’t. The internet and social media gradually eroded at that notion, though.
Classic case of freedom of speech for me… but not for thee. It’s offensive and wrong if one group(white guy) uses it no matter the context and ‘target’ (other white people whom the guy saying it to is friendly with and with no black people around to offend..)and always excusable and even encouraged if another group (black RU-vidrs whom make money by being… just kinda… extra….) uses the word…
I've seen this movie to maybe three times all the way through and some clips here and there and I have never noticed that he said that before. Normally that's something that would really really trip my radar right away. weird how I missed it. must have been his accent & the fact that I wasn't expecting him to say it. My ears are really attuned to it because I'm never around the word and never hear anybody say it, because I refuse to listen to "black" rap music because of that word. That said, I'm sure Ed and the writer of that scene and Nick Frost all three meant it in a fun and not a mean way. he was kind of joking by trying to sound gangster In an obviously dorky way.
It really is a fantastic movie. And the ending is the best. Shaun gets to grow into his relationship with Liz and Ed gets to experience his best un-life. 😅
if you guys haven't already watched highschool of the dead you should, Shaun is in the anime working at a gas station in the same outfit. He's also in Land of the Dead as a zombie.
I'm pretty sure on the dvd there were secret scenes where three of them in a comic book form showed diane surviving, shaun went back for ed because he was hiding under the stairs, and when shaun was distracting the zombies one turned it's head and saw him going back.
I love this movie it’s so stupid but hilarious I definitely go back and watch this almost every year I enjoy parodies and this is one that’s honestly funny.
Other good parodies are Hot Shots and Hot Shots Part Deux, and the Naked Gun 1, 2, and 3 movies. These are 90s movies so they reference other media during that era.
One of my favorite RU-vid groups of all time, y’all been doing this like what 2017?? And y’all are still here pushing out content consistently salute to all of you brothers, rob too get well soon
Thing is this is how zombies have pretty well always been portrayed. Only recently with the Brad Pitt movie walking dead etc that you got the fast ass zombies
Return of the Living Dead had fast zombies (85). Im sure there are plenty of examples of it. As long as it serves the story, I dont really think it matters the speed.
There are so many funny jokes (dialogues and visuals), but y'all not even listening or paying attention, y'all just keep on talkin' like a bunch of teenage girls!
I saw Shaun when it first came out. But the original zombie parody is called Return of The Living Dead in 1985. I think it's funnier than Shaun. Liked your reactions.
Just found your channel- love the reaction!! Did you also previously react to Hot Fuzz? I can't see it on your channel. Can't wait to check out more of your reactions :)
This is one of the best reactions to this movie I've ever seen! Y'all are so funny and your group dynamic is a delight to watch It's not really a parody movie, it's a really good movie with good comedy, but it's not making fun of the zombie genre
Funny that you mention this being before TWD (the show), because issue 1 of TWD (the comics) was released almost one year before this movie. 😄 The most recent zombie craze may have been the biggest yet, but they’ve been known to _rise_ in popularity before from time to time, especially since _Night of the Living Dead._
@@boskee Yeah, they were pitching SotD back in 1999, right? Of course, Kirkman wouldn't have known about that, and Pegg and Wright wouldn't have known about TWD yet (since Kirkman hadn't created it yet).
I believe tvs do come with cable in the UK... that's why you hear about them needing a tv license. You pay for the license and you get to watch all the channels. Something like that...
Nah we pay a TV license to watch any live TV. It pays for the BBC which runs a few channels, radio stations etc which is why the BBC has no commercials. We have a ton of free digital channels If you want "cable" you have to pay extra but most people only do that for the sports channels because streaming services have better content than "cable".
I don't know if you guys have seen these, but "Zombieland" and Zombieland 2 Double Tap" are a couple of other zombie parodies. I think they are funnier than this. IMO
12:50 it's not as much about 2004 as it is about this being Europe, even today with all the pc nonsense spilling over. And it's absolutely hilarious watching Americans loose it over words like that. Absolutely hilarious.
One of the most unfortunate exports from America being oversensitivity and "everything is racist", the world was better before everyone was terminally online.
I mean it was inappropriate in 2004 too. I went to see it in the cinema and everybody gasped before laughing. The whole point is Ed is so oblivious of how he comes across and doesn't care about social norms (same as calling them cunts in the pub). That's the joke lol
@@SpenceJS87 projecting much? I was talking about the export of conservatism. I don’t know how old you are so maybe you’re unaware of how “things used to be” but I can tell you that things are way less chill these days.
@@hanonholdbad example since cunt is a super common insult in the Uk and only 80 year old ladies will start shit over calling someone a cunt and ANYONE can say it…quite unlike the n word which only one group can say without getting any looks or comments, and no matter how many people complain about black people continuing to use it…. Well they are obviously racist wanting to ‘take’ the word from them so no need to listen to the complaints of those bigots!
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3ynkRMFe2xg.html guy in the middle to the right had the correct attitude to this bit, can tell you guys are young and have been raised in a hyper race conscious world, wasn't like that back then and everyone/every group got on without a thought to it, we were actually living like MLK wanted us too, 90s/early 2000s was the best time to be alive for all in england anyway
