“I’m doing a happy dance under the table!” And I laugh out loud because I totally get the joy and happiness when something is so fun and beautiful and unexpected all at the same time. Art makes our souls happiest!
I'm exposing my young nieces to mixed media, and was looking at the shaving cream techniques of various youtubers. I watched several and the whole time, I was thinking that so much potential is wasted. You are the ONLY person that actually used some of the 'waste,' so yay! I just adore your videos and you're so much fun. Thanks for sharing 'your' way of doing this :)
Oh Barbara you just made my day :) I've done shaving cream backgrounds before but have never used a stencil while creating. Love, love, love this. This is definitely going to be a fun project when some of my stamping friends get together. And you know what? I love the smell of the backgrounds too......so much fun. Thank you for sharing this.
Have used food coloring and Easter egg dyes with grandkids but never thought of a stencil. Brilliant. Will be playing with stencils and foam next time they visit. They’ll love it and I love your examples.
I soooo enjoyed your video! Thank you very much for showing me, in simple terms, how to go about creations using shaving foam. I'm off now to have a go!
Hi Barbara ~ I am totally in love with this technique. Since it is now beyond 12:30 a.m. I'll have to try this another time but I absolutely LOVE this technique. Thanks so much for sharing and for being so light-hearted and fun!
Oh my goodness! You are hilarious! I don't believe I have ever heard someone from the U.K. utter the phrase, "Okey Dokey!" and you made me laugh! I love your videos and your "regular" manner. I can't wait to try this shaving cream method. You're stealing time from my art making...I am compelled to keep watching your fantastic videos!
Barbara, this is a beautiful and fun technique. I was wondering if using watercolor cardstock would work? I can't wait to try this with my granddaughter!
I'm having more fun watching all your videos. Still not brave enough to play with alcohol inks, but this, omg, I mean this really looks fun and achievable. Thank you!!
Probably you could use another sheet of paper to "blot up" from the stencil or indeed, any of the already scraped papers...rather than using a paper towel...
Hi Varna, The name of the inks is Distress Re-inkers. We actually have a sale on them at the moment on our website. They're all 20% off! If you follow the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QUbfPGF4Sz4.html Barb has done another video similar to this. This time she explains how to make background papers with the re-inkers! Hope this helps and happy crafting!
Ilona van Galen If you don't want grayed down colors, just stick with an analogous color scheme. I'm planning on trying it both ways to see what trouble I can get myself into >8)
