Don't commit a useless crime if you aren't ready to deal with the consequences, let alone expecting others to lie for you. Just don't kill people, its really that simple. Sure, a lot of cops are corrupt and "working with them" may seem odd, but I always take it from the standpoint that what if it was my parent, sibling or child? I'd sing like Mariah if it meant bringing the person to justice. And if the persons brother/sister has all the answers that would solve the case, I would hope the humanity in them would get them to do the right thing.
