Even though the show revolved around Cory and Topanga, Shawn was the most developed Character on the show think about it, he's grown up in a trailer park and his life far from easy, his mother walks out on him with his father soon to follow, lived with his teacher who he soon makes a connection with, moves back with his father, soon Turner is in a accident and that does some damage on him when he was already trying to figure out who he is, his father pushes him to move in with his half brother who he lost touch with, then his father does a year later, and once again has to evaluate his life, and the finds out sometime later that the woman who raised him wasn't actually his biological mother and finally he makes a connection with a girl only to break up with her almost a year later, then gets back with that girl only to give her up so she can be with father So bottom line is even though Boy meets World revolved around Cory and Topanga Shawn was an important factor
. shawn is the characther I relate to the most. I grew up in an abusive home with an older brother who was a drug addict. I had to call the cops on my dad more than once, and I really had to and still have to figure out who I am. I got a full scholarship on bass performance to wheaton college and fell in love with classical music and poetry just like shawn as I find it describes the pain and trauma I've experienced in my life and how I can influence the world
Oh my God. I actually see it the exact same way you do. I really think that Shawn Hunter had one of the best character developments in tv history, his story is what fascinated me the most in bmw.
Kellan Sass I think it's about Cory, topanga & Shawn TBH because they were focused on s lot - the corpanga relationship, the Shawn/Cory friendship, even Cory/topanga friendship. those three are the core CHARACTERS.
The three main characters are actually cory, shawn and eric. Topanga started as a side character and even though she became a big part of the show, she wasn't mean to be from the beginning. Cory and s hawn are the only ones on every episode but eric is in most of them. We also never really get to see Topangas home life at all (except her parents' devours) and even when we do it's not consistent, her mother's name changes, the actor who plays her father changes (And the character completely changes with it) and she had a sister names nebbie who was never mentioned again.
I like to think that Shawn is always waiting around the corner and listening for the exact perfect moment to enter and ruin the previous speaker's statements.
Ben's expression in the GMW clip was completely genuine. If I worked on a show with someone for seven years, I would hope to have an everlasting friendship and those two had the best bromance in TV history. It was real and the final clip shows this.
Wow! The crazy thing is Shawn was originally meant to only appear in the pilot then be a bit of a background character but then they decided to keep him for a bit longer and then it turned into what we know and love today. Honestly the show would not be the same without him, the lessons that come with his character are truly inspiring and amazing.

I’m really disappointed how they use Shawn in girl meets world because in reality Shawn would’ve been by there house everyday, even if he had traveled or something, he would’ve come right back and visit before going off to another place
I had a huge crush on Shawn when I was younger, I also ended up getting a crush on Eric, but my crush was more with Shawn then Eric. But I loved both guys so much back then, lol.
You forgot the one where Shawn bursted in through the door after Topanga performed her poem to Cory, then saw her with lipstick in all the wrong places and literally stopped dead in his tracks having the audacity to actually say “Use a mirror babe.” 😭😭😭😭❤️
Great moment when Shawn returns from the road and tells Cory that everything's gonna be alright. Even his girl couldn't console him but his best bud did.

Every time I watch the scene where Shawn and Cory reunite in Girl Meets World, I tear up 🥺 of happiness cause... IT WENT FROM “Girl Meets World” to *THE CORY AND SHAWN SHOW*
Season 1 was like a startup season so many plot holes like shawns sister .Topangas sister apparantly topanga and Cory knew each other since they were 2 yet they look like they just met in episode 4 then minkus disappears for like 5 years and he's really just been on the other side of the school and season one was the only season that the characters forgot about. Maybe it wasn't Canon

At 0:36 he should've said "Hail, Coriolanus!" instead. It's still a pun of 'Cory' and goes with the whole Shakespeare theme. Plus, it alludes to their Ambiguously Gay Duo-type Bromance.
If theirs's a list of Shawns exits definitely one of them is when the Mathews house goes dark and he's right out the door saying "Goodnight everybody!"

Jennifer Pruitt the show would have been too dark and serious with him as the main character. They always gave secondary characters the really heavy storylines on 90s sitcoms.
No, because then it would just be copying boy meets world. And I know Michael Jacobs is still the producer and he can do whatever he wants to do with his show. But that is just too much of a copycat. You know what I mean?
