😢 my Dad died on my Birthday in 2020 and it was the hardest day of my life. He was my best friend. He loved Elvis but he started singing this song to me the day I was born. This is the first time I listened to this song since. Has me in tears but wow I needed that today! Thank you! Love you Daddy! ❤

What’re the odds you play this for my Fiancés and my first dance at our wedding in Leavenworth? 😄 We just discovered the lake Wenatchee session album, after already having heard a long time ago the songs that make up the album. We actually just got engaged in the middle of a snowmobile tour in Leavenworth on 12/21/22. I’m in the Army WA National Guard and just got back from basic and infantry training. While at my basic training graduation my now fiancé visited, after being apart for several months, we had a very deep and emotional moment listening to your cover and knew right away this was our song! We’re both huge fans, and it would be a dream come true to just meet you in person, let alone have you sing in our wedding!!! I have some more military training ahead of me, the wedding date would probably be in about 12-18 months.

The day we decided to elope the Elvis version of this was playing as we pulled into the court house… it was one of my late father’s favorite songs… it was like having him there with me!!! A few month later my husband sent me this and I ugly cried for hours listening to it on repeat!!!! The two greatest men of my life have given me two different versions of this song. Elvis’s version is a father’s love… Shawn’s version is a true love song!

Honestly when I saw he had a new song out I didn’t know it was a remake, so when I found out it was Elvis song I thought no way it would be any good. So I didn’t listen to it right away.
