Fan: "Any advice for singers to trying to make their way?"
Shawn: "Only sing, only write, only make what you truly love. Even if you become successful doing something that isn't you, it's gonna suck. Cause you're gonna be playing this person that isn't truly your heart. The only way is to be you."
Fan: "How did you parents help you out?"
Shawn: "The #1 thing my parents did was support me, no matter what. My parents used to say to me 'We'll support you if you just wanna come home today and just be a race car driver.' I think knowing that I didn't have pressure from my parents to have to do something changed my whole life because I was really doing what I loved to do."
Fan: "Your song 'In My Blood' was really inspirational for me... What is a song that has had a similar impact on you?"
Shawn: "Wow. 'Fix You' was always that song for me and that's the type of thing I was channeling when I was writing 'In My Blood'!"
Fan: "What do you think makes a good life?"
Shawn: "A good group of friends and family!"
Fan: "I rewatched your Hot Ones interview and they said you were gonna bring you on a second time, how do you think you will be better prepared for it?"
Shawn: "The truth is you just cannot prepare for eating the hottest wings in the world. There is a certain amount of spice level where what happens is you just go completely delusional. It should be illegal! I'm pretty sure the cops are gonna go in on that show and be like 'This spice is not allowed!'
Fan: "If you could come back as any person, dead or alive, who would it be?"
Shawn: "Come back? I'm already here! I think I would come back as Harry Styles!"
Fan: "You have one of the most beautiful smiles I've ever seen. What kind of toothpaste do you use?"
Shawn: "It's called Marvis. M-a-r-v-i-s. It's the sparemint!"
Fans: "Sparemint?"
Shawn: "Spearmint!"
Fan: "Have you ever thought of headlining Coachella?"
Shawn: "I think about that all the time! Do you know the person who does it? Hit him up, let him know I'll be there!"
Fan: "What are 3 goals for your 21st year?"
Shawn: "Nothing to do with alcohol. Really be patient with myself and allow myself to make music that I really wanna make, take my time on it and not feel rushed."
Fan: "What's your favorite Disney movie?"
Shawn: "'Tarzan'! Actually, no, it's 'Lilo & Stitch'! 100%!"
Fan: "What's your advice for singers who don't know what they want to do with their life?"
Shawn: "Don't rush. Don't feel pressured to figure out what you wanna do with your life. You just have to try everything, try as many things as you want... Every time someone is like 'How do you not know what you want to do?', just be like 'Cause I'm figuring that shit out!'"
Fan: "What's your favorite guitar?"
Shawn: "I have this old looking telecaster. I play it on 'Treat You Better', so you'll know!"
Fan: "Do you text your number neighbor?"
Shawn: "What is that? Why do you text them? What happens if they're a serial killer?!"
Fan: "Where do you see yourself in 10 years?"
Shawn: "Can I see myself here doing a Q&A in 10 years? Would you come?"
Fan: "What's your favorite Timbit?"
Shawn: "Just regular chocolate!"
