Pursuit of Happyness concept itself is wrong. One's happiness should not be dependent on what one does. Later Will Smith got into spirituality. I am sure if we talk to him personally he will not accept the movie's title. If one is suffering for whatever reason, and pursuing something so to become happy, even if they succeed in their pursuit, the happiness will last only for a while, and then life returns to the routine nature, becoz it is in the nature of mind that no state is a permanent state. It is fundamentally incorrect to pursue something so to become happy. And pursuing happiness itself is even more horrible. It just means life is shit right now and so looking for brighter days. I saw the movie and is a fantastic movie, but the title is nonsense.

@@krishnanand_ps not about story. The meaning of the phrase "the pursuit of happyness" is wrong way of looking at life. If we are pursuing happiness means we are not happy right now. This is the root cause of all suffering. The actions we do should not be related to our happiness. If mind can be tuned like this, then, when we work on some activity, unknowingly we will enjoy the process (of working on the activity), and end result wouldn't have a special significance Hero lost job, lost means of livelihood. On top of this hero is unhappy and so pursuing happiness by trying to fix his problems. If both are kept separate, majority of the problem is solved. As RGV said "90% of the solution to any problem is in the mind" Pursuit of happiness is exactly the opposite of karma yoga OR mindfulness or living in the present moment.
