Du'as that Sh. YQ taught in the lecture: A) Du'a for ourselves: 1) 43:48 - In Sahih Bukhari & Muslim, it is narrated that Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas would teach his children this du'a the way that the teachers would teach kids alphabet. The Prophet SAW taught us to say this du'a after every single salah: أَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْجُبْنِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَرَدَّ إِلَى أَرْذَلِ الْعُمْرِ ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الدُّنْيَا ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from cowardice, and I seek refuge in You from living to a senile old age, and I seek refuge in You from the trials of the dunya, and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave." 2) 45:45 - In al-Nasa'i, Abu Bakrah narrates: The Prophet SAW would say after every single salah: أَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكُفْرِ، وَالْفَقْرِ، وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from kufr, and (from) extreme poverty, and (from) the punishment of the grave." 3) 46:12 - In Sahih Muslim, Zayd ibn Arqam narrates: I am only teaching you like the Prophet SAW taught us: أَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ، وَالْكَسَلِ، وَالْجُبْنِ، وَالْبُخْلِ، وَالْهَرَمِ، وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from incapability, and (from) laziness, and (from) cowardice, and (from) stinginess, and (from) living to an old age, and (from) the punishment of the grave." 4) 46:42 - In Sahih Bukhari, Aisha narrates: The Prophet SAW would always seek refuge in Allah, with this du'a, after every single salah: أَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ النَّارِ، وَمِنْ عَذَابِ النَّارِ، وَمِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْقَبْرِ، وَمِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the fitna of the Fire, and from the punishment of the Fire, and from the fitna of the grave, and from the punishment of the grave." 47:32 - Brothers and sisters, from now on, after every single salah, add this du'a. You can use any of them. B) Du'a for other people (during janaza / after the person has gone). This is the least that we can do, especially to those that have a haq over us - friends, relatives, loved ones, etc. 1) 50:56 - Wathila ibn al-Asqa' narrated: The Prophet SAW taught us du'a al-mayyit (du'a for the deceased): أَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ فُلاَنَ بْنَ فُلاَنٍ فِى ذِمَّتِكَ وَحَبْلِ جِوَارِكَ فَقِهِ مِنْ فِتْنَةَ الْقَبْرِ وَعَذَابِ النَّارِ وَأَنْتَ أَهْلُ الْوَفَاءِ وَالْحَمْدِ، اللَّهُمَّ فَاغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ "O Allah, so-and-so son of so-and-so (mention him/her by name) is now in Your protection and in Your nearer presence. Therefore protect him from the fitna of the grave and (from) the punishment of the Fire. And You keep Your Promise and You deserve to be praised. O Allah, forgive him and be merciful to him. Indeed You are the Forgiving, the Merciful." 2) 51:58 - In Sahih Muslim, Awf ibn Malik said: I heard the Prophet SAW make the du'a in Salah al-Janaza, he said: أَللَّهُـمَّ اغْفِـرْ لَهُ ، وَارْحَمْـهُ ، وَعَافِهِ ، وَاعْفُ عَنْـهُ ، وَأَكْـرِمْ نُزُلَـهُ ، وَوَسِّـعْ مُدْخَـلَهُ ، وَاغْسِلْـهُ بِالْمَـاءِ وَالثَّـلْجِ وَالْبَـرَدِ ، وَنَقِّـهِ مِنَ الْخَطَـايَا كَمَا نَـقَّيْتَ الـثَّوْبَ الأَبْيَـضَ مِنَ الدَّنَـسِ،وَأَبْـدِلْهُ دَارًا خَـيْرًا مِنْ دَارِهِ ، وَأَهْلًا خَـيْرًا مِنْ أَهْلِـهِ ، وَزَوْجًا خَـيْرًا مِنْ زَوْجِهِ ، وَأَدْخِـلْهُ الْجَـنَّةَ ، وَأَعِـذْهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَـبْرِ وَعَذَابِ النَّـارِ "O Allah, forgive and have mercy upon him, excuse him and pardon him, and make honorable his reception. Expand his grave, and cleanse him with water, snow and hail [water], and purify him of sin as a white robe is purified of filth. And exchange his home for a better home, and his companion for a better companion, and his spouse for a better spouse. Admit him into the Garden, protect him from the punishment of the grave and the torment of the Fire." 52:31 - Make this du'a after the third takbir. In case you have not memorized it in Arabic, you are allowed to say it in English or any language because it is a du'a, it's not the Qur'an.

He said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say them following the prayer.'" أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ الشَّحَّامِ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ، قَالَ كَانَ أَبِي يَقُولُ فِي دُبُرِ الصَّلاَةِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكُفْرِ وَالْفَقْرِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ فَكُنْتُ أَقُولُهُنَّ فَقَالَ أَبِي أَىْ بُنَىَّ عَمَّنْ أَخَذْتَ هَذَا قُلْتُ عَنْكَ . قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ يَقُولُهُنَّ فِي دُبُرِ الصَّلاَةِ . Indeed, We - We have prepared Hell for the disbelievers (as) a lodging.(18:102)" If we have bought home with HARAM Riba lone from Banks/Islamic Banks and take this servant of Allah subhanahu wa ta`ala (i.e. Home) as protector of us and our family beside Allah subhanahu wa ta`ala ignoring the declaration of WAR from Allah subhanahu wa ta`ala and His Rasul sallalahu `alaihi wa sallam against dealing with Riba(2:279) then we have done shirk and Hell Fire is waiting for us unless we get rid of all wealth obtained by Riba and do Tawba and depend on Allah subhanahu wa ta`ala only and say "Hashbi Allah". Very few among us will do it. So it is very safe not to go into Riba. Also do not go to hajj /umrah from haram home, when mortgage is paid up, and then come back to haram home and think that you have done great good deeds then remember these Ayas of the Quran-ul-Karim. "Say,"Shall We inform you of the greatest losers (as to their) deeds? 18:103." "Those- is lost their effort in the life (of) the world, while they think that they(were) acquiring good (in) work."18:104.
