I love the call back with Ody saying “if I’ll never sleep again.” And here Athena admitted she can’t sleep, even in the next song her animatics has eyebags.
Oh, and "his light went dark" refers to Odysseus choosing to become the monster. Athena wonders, if she had steered him a different way, and maybe stayed with him after the Cyclops saga, he could've become a better person. So... yeah, she finally has her warrior of the mind, but she's rethinking that worldview because she's realizing what Odysseus has become.
Are you sure? Because I thought that up to now she had no idea what he went through. is Telemachus that convinced her to check on him and she couldn't find him.
I don't think it's about such a drastic change of mindset. I believe it is just about their relationship that meant more than she thought. She never wanted him to become a monster. All she wanted was him to think things through and don't be drown by guilt. Besides, she gave him a direct command and he disobeyed, give in to guilt and pride. That's the end of it because she felt at the time that was nothing more than a mentor/pupil relationship, now she regrets the lost if a friendship. I think it was more about that. Sorry, I took a bit too long to get to my point. Anyways. Have a good day and keep on with the content.
