She hasn’t disowned them, she’s weening them, some mothers can get a bit rough when weening their puppies but it’s fine as long as she doesn’t hurt them, she’s sick of them nagging her for milk.

She’s not abandoning them, she’s wearing them. The puppies are now able to eat solid food and she’s creating distance so her milk will dry up. This is totally normal, even the growling and nipping, that’s her telling them off lol. Totally normal, nothing to be worried about, if you are concerned about their nutrition, add some puppy milk replacer into their food. Once they are fully weaned she will be more playful and active with them. Best of luck :)

This is a totally normal thing that the mom is going through, our previous foster mama did the same thing with her pups when they were around 5 weeks. This is when they start teaching them boundaries and to read the signs (growling, showing teeth, nipping) of when they need to leave a dog alone :) Not to mention their teeth start to really hurt the mamas poor nipples at this age and it becomes overwhelming for the mom. Love these vlogs and everything that you do for these animals Joey❤️

He shouldn't have to be told this.. he should already know! if you foster animals you should have some sorta knowledge about animals and how they behave! he made a cat loose her kittens for god sakes and people still support him! he stressed her out so much she miscarried.. he also separated her from her buddy because he only wanted the pregnant one

Don't worry, it's normal mama dog behavior. She's starting the weaning process and teaching them discipline and boundaries. Puppies get very demanding at that age, and she's telling them the milk bar is closed. Every mama is different, some can be much more strict on weaning. She's an experienced mom, just keep going on what you're doing. Make sure you don't adopt them out early due to this (8 weeks at a minimum) because it is critical she teaches them how to socialize and boundaries with other dogs.

Very natural for this behaviour and how puppies learn boundaries and how other dogs communicate. Without allowing this communication, the puppies could have issues understanding other dogs and their boundaries in future. Very important since mom tells puppies the correct energy levels they should have in situations, since mom corrects if they are too rambunctious. (Dog mom of an orphan pup that wasn’t able to benefit from this feedback and often shows fearful aggressive behaviour toward other dogs or hyper arousal during play)

I felt this same way!!! my Rottweiler/ lab mix just had 11 puppies on christmas!! (sadly two didnt make it but thats expected with really large litters, and it was her first time), she was OBSESSED with them for the first month and then out of nowhere just wanted NOTHING to do with them at all, so i started weening them off of her and onto food and then out of nowhere she wanted to feed them milk again and i felt HORRIBLE having to make her leave the playpen bc they were like 7 weeks old and needed to be eating real food. and then when we satrted taking them all outside with mama and dad she would literally run away from them and like out their head in her mouth and just growl lmfao, but now i still have two of the pups left that need to find homes and shes doing pretty well with them, shell play with them and she comes and checks on them throughout the day to give them kisses and what not

Please do your research unlike joey here.. he took a pregnant cat from her home (even though to him it was the streets the cat lived there) brought it back without its buddy because he only wanted the pregnant one. brought her to this new house caused her terrible stress and made her loose her kittens.. he has no idea what he is doing and should not be fostering these animals if he doesn't even know half the behaviors. he is not a professional what so ever!

Wow they had no problem eating that food it was definitely time to wean those pups of poor mama. She's had a rough time with the infection and all. The close ups of those cute little puppy faces get me every time. Your the best Joey!!!
