No due diligence whatsoever. She didn’t lose anything, she just gave it all away. News is reporting like it’s a scam, but anyone with common sense knows better. Not to mention IOUs for this sum of money is beyond crazy, and you’re in real estate…contracts all day long but not for this?
I'm an attorney and can tell you that you have no idea what you're talking about. The money was taken under fraudulent circumstances. The attorney story and the daughter with cancer story were both lies. These lies served as the basis of the loans. This is the literal definition of a scam. It is 100% a scam Larry.
What happened to her is wrong. But essentially she was operating as a lender/loan-shark. She wasn’t loaning money out of the kindness of her own heart. She was only loaning money because she wanted to get a high interest/return back. Which, was probably more than the law allows lenders to apply to loans.
so sad , it happed to my dad years ago where he thought he was investing in a part ownership in a business ,turned out the guy defrauded many ppl plus the bank then fled to Greece
That scammer knew that lady had money and started praying on her sad. That hairstylest was her mom knew and didn't say anything. And here I am just need 6 hundred for car repairs.
its called butchering the pig. She had these people thinking they would get part of her pending settlement which would be in the millions, but she need them to help her cover the attorney costs etc. She drain them of funds while they are thinking they will get double or triple back once she wins her settlement. SO here is how to avoid that con. Never give or loan money in anticipation that you will get more back from the person once something or another happens. More than likely they are running the BTP (butchering the pig) con game on you.
What person gives away their hard earned money to someone's child. Let the mother deal with the daughter. She didnt verify what the girl was stating and have a lawyer look into it. Shes a business lady and should know better. After a year, id have questioned this, being that shes a business person. She shouldve paid directly, not trust her word. This is as bad as a romance scam.
People with money must realize that they will be targeted in many ways in attempts to take their wealth. I would have given prayers and that's it! You're my hairdresser's daughter. I'm not your friend and my hairdresser isn't my friend either. We conduct business transactions for hair-washing and occasional dyeing. That's it! What a horrible ordeal!
