I thought the braids looked nice on her but understand the other side of the "argument" some women still face discrimination for wearing protective styles, but the narrative is changing which is a good thing. Just curious but y is it offensive for other races to use braids?like I’m Mexican but I don’t rlly understand a problem with it not trying to hate or anything just a question
Yes, if she had combed it before she jumped on the shower, she 100% would have saved it. She could have saved it anyway by putting conditioner in her hair in the shower, and pulling gently on the ends of her hair to kind of pull the knots out from underneath, if that makes sense. I've had long hair all my life. There's a way to get out ALL knots without a lot of damage. Lol
I'm not against any race doing what they want to their hair. It's theirs! I braided my white niece's hair. BUT, if you look at her videos, her attitude is disgusting! I think that's why she was getting so much hate. And she has a song where she stated she'd hang a black girl from a tree. She deleted that video with a quickness, but you know the internet is forever🤷🏽♀️
I think she was very happy with her braids and showing them on tiktoks but she started receiving all that black lash and that black culture appropriation shit that she just flipped and reacted that way People can't seem to be nice to each other anymore , they have to insert racism, appropriation, gaslighting ,... all these new terms they like to use and slap on anything to make an invalid point valid
@@crystalnait455 You do realize that not every white person being called out for having a racist attitude is some victim. People are quick to make excuses for white people who know that they are doing what they are doing to antagonize black people. We get it, sometimes racism accusations can be erroneous and overboard, but also sometimes people are simply being racist. On every video about this stuff, like literally 99% of them, there are bunch of people saying that black people are just too sensitive, you'd think there were absolutely no racist people in existence based on this reaction, but racism is hella common, and for a lot of people they think it's funny and edgy to say anti-black things. There are millions of those kinds of people, yet every time they are exposed there are people defending them. Stop.

Africans used CORN ROW braiding for centuries. There was actually a function behind it. There are also black people with natural blond hair. I personally don't care about who wears their hair in whatever fashion. The girl in the video imo was being provocative and racist for saying she would lynch black women.
I just made that mistake. I took my hair down and I didnt comb through it good enough because i was being lazy and because of that I lost alot of hair when i went to wash it.

Yeah, she doesn’t know when to stop, I really don’t think people wouldnt of had an issue with her hair if she actually had content and a better attitude. She has no real content and made her terribly done braids content along with antagonizing blk women.
And what were those women saying to her? Not condoning her saying that, however, If you threaten to bash and stab someone because of their hair, then...💁♀️ if the shoe fits.
Wow, that was unnecessary. She's right! We used to get micro braids for beach trips, just easier to deal with. Yeah, taking them out is a little work. Maybe take a few out, comb that, and put it in a big braid, and repeat. THEN wet and wash. Still be easy on it, your hair has been pulled tight for days or more, it could be stretched. Give it a good condition, and let it air dry that first time if you can. I'm a white woman, and that worked for me and my friends when we were younger.
Her comment at the end about natural Afro i grew it myself told me everything I needed to know. This isn’t about how many women of color in other countries have braids, of course they do… it’s about girl like her making a joke of it all, feeling superior to the group she’s mocking and ultimately knowing she’ll never get in trouble for it. ❤
@nicholasmaielli3806 wasn't a joke her entire video was her making fun of black women. Then when the black women told her how her hair wasn't going to be ok with the braids bc she don't take care of it right she got mad. But look who's hair fell out. She should've listened

Exactly! I'm sure you've untangled way worse than that as well. My niece didn't comb her hair for over 2 months once. My sister in law brought her over to my house and explained that not only did she not comb her hair for over 2 months, she washed it the way it was. (Up in a messy bun with several pony trail holders wrapped around it.) Mind you, she is half Hawaiian and has very long (below her butt), thick, curly hula hair. I grabbed my conditioners to make my extra strength conditioner concoction and my combs that I use to detangle. She starts whining because I guess her Mom tried to get it out for over an hour. SMH, she should have just come to me to begin with. Well it only took me about half an hour to get it out. No pain or yanking or pulling. She was so happy. So I decided to call her Mom at work and mess with her. Lmao 😂 I told her Mom that it was too bad and that I wasn't able to get the knots out and that I had used my last resort and cut it out. Well in her family, having the hula hair is a must. Their Papa pays them $200 a year to not cut their hair. This being said, my sister in law freaked out! She started screaming and cussing me out. I could tell she wanted to strangle me. 😂😂😂 I told her I was just messing with her and got screamed at again. 😂😂 I was told not to ever joke like that. That I had given her a heart attack and she was freaking out because she didn't know how she was going to tell her family. Particularly when you get braids, you want to make sure you detangle right after with conditioner. Anyone can have braids but your hair care routine after the braids & before the braids definitely matter.
Her demeanor clearly shows that she is doing it as a mockery from the bread to the wig to the Afro comment. This is a person that is not genuine and appreciating the styling where it come from.
I do this when taking out cornrows cause my cornrows always mat up when I loosen them. Now I just use the coke and detangle the cornrow as I’m undoing it
Yeah. I have straight hair and used to do box braids all the time, and never had a problem. I feel like because everyone was ‘warning’ her, she probably panicked and thought her hair was ruined when it wasn’t. Thanks for looking at it logically ♥︎
As someone who is biracial (black and white), I was always scared to do box braids bc I look white but I have 4C hair (an Afro). Honestly, I always straighten my hair bc I thought I’d looked better as a “white person” than someone who you can’t tell what race they are. After YEARS of keeping my hair straight, I finally started doing hairstyles with my natural hair and I fell more in love with my fluffy beautiful hair. About 5-6 months ago I wanted to try something new, I RU-vidd some vids and later went to the hair store. I did box braids, for the 1st time. They were bad now looking at it but I do them a lot now and they look beautiful. ofc at fist I got looks from people who didn’t know I was mixed but I loved expressing my new look and my culture (black culture). Safe to ask, how could an actual white person be able to walk out the house like that? Feel free to do whatever you want but it’s a lil confusing yk?
Sorry if I sound creepy for looking on your channel but I saw some of your videos and first of all you look great in those braids, and second of all, you definitely don’t look straight up white. Even if your hair texture isn’t showing the facial features I think give it away, and I’m pretty sure most POC would be able to tell you’re not white. As a light white passing ethnically mixed person I have done braids before but nobody has ever told me I shouldn’t or that I’m too white, I think it honestly has a lot to do with hair too I mean, you have 4c hair, “black” or not it seems you’d have every right to braid your hair as braids are a protective style and also help maintaining hair that’s otherwise very time consuming to be doing all the time. You look good in the braids and keep doing natural hair styles, I’m glad you’ve gotten away from the straightener your hair is coily and that’s how it’s supposed to be and it’s awesome
I have the same problem, white skin but my hair is 4C as well. I have straighted my hair for 15 years, im 27 now and im growing out my natural hair while wearing braids. I often thought i looked too white for braids or my natural hair but we are who we are. I had people on instagram who commented that i don't look pure white at all, so it might just be us thinking we do.

@@WarmongerYTsometimes it because of the attitude of the people wearing the braids. There’s a fine line between appropriation and appreciation, and lots of people miss the mark. Also, please keep in mind not all braids are the same. The cultures you mentioned that braid their hair don’t do it the same as us. Each braid literally serves a different purpose. Ours are protective and meant for courser hair types, while others may be protective but for only certain hair types; though a lot of times those cultures include braids in them more for stylistic reason, as opposed to us black people who were and sometimes still are told that our natural hair is unprofessional. While we acknowledge that wigs are a common thing for black women, can we also acknowledge why they are so common? And please don’t say that things have “changed,” because even still in 2024 I’ve had people tell me my hair wasn’t professional enough and ask me how I was gonna style it. Nah like braids don't have like a real origin place, there were the vikings they wore braids, cornrows, dreadlocks and more to look more intimidating. But there were also the Himba people from Namibia that braided their hair. The theory is that in that time line alot of different countries started braiding their hair,so we cant really tell where there origin place is.
i hope ppl in the comments can CUT THIS BS abt this girl having good intentions, or thanking OP for explaining what she did wrong calmly. The girl did this to mock black people cut and dry. She did her makeup differently to look much darker ONLY when she was wearing the braids , put on long nails ONLY when she had them braids in and did the aggressive head pat stereotype while LAUGHING. Patting your head is normal if you have in cornrows, feed-ins, loc styles, or wigs with long nails, but its almost never to that extent. Furthermore, that trope is so common when trying to mock or satirize ghetto ppl, you can probably find it in at least 3 shane dawson videos from back in the day💀 And to the ppl saying her lil "natural afro" comment at the end wasnt malicious need to go finish MIDDLE SCHOOL first bc you know damn well thats not what she meant. The term "natural hair" is synonymous to the hair of people within the african diaspora. Have you EVERR heard a white person refer to their hair as an afro? The term Afro was MADE for black people to rebel against the pressure to hide their natural hair behind relaxers, wigs, etc, something thats not an issue if you grew up 100% WHITE. She's obviously doing this to make black people mad, but yall wanna give her chance and chance AGAIN without ever learning why black people are upset. Its not hard for white people to learn about the risks of dying your hair for the first time or side effects for getting a perm, so why can yall do it for hairstyle thats obviously COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from what you're used to? ONE google search couldve told her how to how to properly take care of her hair. ONE google search couldve told her how to take the braids down for straight hair properly. Another google search couldve told her how to detangle matted hair at home without having to cut it, but she couldnt be bothered. She didn't even have to read actually because of RU-vid. She even had so many tiktoks of black ppl, in comments and duets, TRYING to educate her or at least warn her on what can happen if u dont take care for it properly, but she didn't want to listen. Black people have spent time and time again trying to explain to others not only this but the systemic racism still VERY PRESENT, but we are just seen as being "too aggressive" or "bullying". We are TIRED. But yall still want us to tell you in a tiktok all nicely and "respectable" when u STILL just assume that black people's concerns are just soooo irrational and dumfounded, but want to give the white girl whos clearly mocking people with NO REMORSE the benefit of the doubt. The thing that is confusing, is that a white person is not supposed to wear a black hairstyle because that is racist or appropriation. However, a white hair stylist is supposed to know how to do these styles. If he or she does not know how to do these for a black customer, that is also racist?
Yeah I’m a black woman and I learned the hard way. I'm Caucasian and I got a weave and it made my hair wayy healthier and stronger once I took it out. And I have FINE hair. The ladies at the salon did an amazing job and added textured hair while braiding and really educated me on how to take care of it. It looked like my natural hair and it was my favorite hair and salon trip that I've ever had! Like sometimes keep things to yourself and respect others if you know it's controversial online. She MADE it disrespectful by her behavior and actions when she had a good opportunity to educate people and respect others cultures!
If your hair was done up like this, it isn't "weave." That term is usually reserved for when you get your hair cornrowed down and the fake hair is woven into those rows with thread. There are different terms for hairstyles such as extensions, braids, weaves, wigs, and perms (which aren't really perms, but we call it that anyway?) Anyways, happy learning.
I would completely understand if a mother doesn't have time to take care of her hair due to the overload of her routine, or a person wants to cut their hair to donate it, but what this girl is doing isn't detachment, it's self-destruction.
Thank you for trying to explain to her (and us) what she did wrong instead of berating her as others did. I never thought about the fact that you lose hair daily and it is forced to stay in the braids until taken down.
As a white swedish girl i actually went and got braids when i was about 16 or 17 and many black women and girls actually looked at me alot and said they were pretty, it was super long ago but i loved them. I was very into bob marley and stuff back then haha.

When I was a kid, I saw a young black girl with braids. I am white. I asked my mom if she could do that to my hair. She sat me down and explained racism to me and told me people would accuse me of being racist and disrespectful if I wore my hair that way. As a 7 year old, that sounded totally ridiculous to me. Wearing braids in your hair shouldn't be just for one race, race didn't matter to be at 7. I saw a girl that had cool hair and wanted that hairstyle too. I think it's silly.
As a black woman with fine hair, I don’t get braids because it's not worth it if you have fine hair. My edges always say look for me when I'd take them out. Doesn't matter how loose, who does it, my scalp can't handle the extra hair🤷🏾♀️. Bless her heart😂
Her braids are beautiful. That's why I like our Jamaican culture. No matter what your race is if you are a Jamaican you are just a Jamaican. You wear anything from any of our collective cultures. Our motto is: Out of many we are one.
As long as she aint claiming em and calling me the n word while taunting me, that's all well and good. And that's what she was doing. Whether it was for views or fun or whatever, she was offensive, period. Now, yawl wanna overlook it cool, but the ones who seen her for what she was didn't find it cute. Nobody gave af about her wearing them, but when she tried to "own" them while downing the ones who wear them, she crossed a line. Black folks never cease to amaze me with not recognizing the disrespect when it's all in your face lol! But whatever. I gave up on us a long time ago and just look out for me, myself and I. Smh.
I feel like Jamaicans have their own country while African Americans have to live in a country where racist people cherry pick from our culture and are celebrated for it while we are seen as dirty and unprofessional. It’s not the same thing.
💯 I love dreadlocks and I’ve always wanted them, and the biggest support I get is from Jamaicans. The only people that care are stuck up white people. Just let people live, life is too short and there are better ways to go about things. Blending culture is what will save the world!!! ❤
We know what happened. She didn’t educate herself. She assumed that she knew what she was doing and the backlash was due to hating on her but in reality it wasn’t. 🤷🏾♀️
The only reason people are telling her this is because her hair ain’t made for braids, African American hair is for braids cause our hair sticks to it better. Her hair goes against the fake hair and unravels.❤
She did this on purpose to get a reaction. I’m not gonna feel bad for her. She immediately turned to racism and threatened to lynch the black women that called her out… that says a lot. It also says a lot that ppl are making excuses for her literally threatening to HATE CRIME black women all bc she got some hate comments that SHE asked for when she decided to try and play games. The fact that she immediately resorted to blatant racism the minute she was called out shows you exactly what her intentions were for getting those braids and showing them off online… but the morons defending her don’t see that bc they’re too busy tap dancing for Becky.
I think a lot of people are missing this very important point. Regardless of your opinion on white people using these Hairstyles, to threaten to LYNCH Black Women is a wild thing to overlook and dismiss. She got these braids to provoke people, not because she liked them but to stir drama.
she’s a piece of shit person, that’s for sure, and she’s surely doing it all for clout. that being said, america is quite literally one of the only places where people are mad about non-black women getting braids.
*It's the antagonizing BW for me. It's the mockery of BW for me. When she had the braids in, she was so bronzed versus when they were being taken out she was so pale; on top of that the mocking of Black women patting their hair instead of scratching the scalp, FLAGRANT. Her vids speak for themselves and I love that she got what she deserved.*
Oh brother here comes the victim mentality and the racist this and racist that. Let homegirl do what she want. Us black folk don’t own hairstyle. Turn on love and hip hop and you’ll see all the black girls with straight blonde hair. No one says nothing. Folks like you stay with the victim thinking. This be the stuff that Candace Owens be talking about.
@@Mikethetwilight1234bro she literally said in one of her videos she was Ganna Lynch a black woman. So shut the f up and sit down because we know what we are talking about. This is why we don't let white people take out culture
that "you guys like my natural Afro" was just..... people might be a bit more accepting of white women getting box braids if the ones that got them could act right about it
She could easily have saved her hair. Clearly she wasnt that bothered about cutting it. It grows. Im just shocked that the shein wig looked decent! Maybe I should try one.
We’ve probably all been through this at one point in life lol my first time getting braids I had a matted mess but I just took hours and tons of conditioner to get it untangled. Learned my lesson and it never happened again.
@@diamondsparkle9967she’s not making fun her hair looks beautiful she’s prob mad she’s being told by everyone it’s appropriating to which I’d not give a fuck cause in the real world people gonna mind their business they just jealous she’s beautiful
That's exactly what I said. She looked really cute in those braids she just needed to detangle afterwards and wash it the right way. A lot of people agitate and tangle the hair when they wash it, which cause them to have a matted mess. You have to have patience or someone to help you. It'll grow, back though. ❤
Don't take your braids out! No one has the right to tell you, no matter what color you are what to do with your hair. You are and adult. Black people and all others stop trying to rule over someone elses personal decisions. Your hair looks beautiful! And I support you and I am BLACK! STAND FIRM!
@@catiemyers3429it’s not about being afraid to mess things up. People were trying to give her advice and she was being racist and disrespectful to them. It’s fine if you wanna try something new but it’s different if don’t know what you’re doing and don’t except the help people are trying to give you
Except that her hair grows very fast, as the Caucasian she is, unlike others😂😂😂 Let’s not even mention that beautiful face she has; I do want to get gathered by Jesus the same way🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
@@katzumihanzo5471As a licensed hair stylist I know that being Caucasian doesn't mean your hair will grow quickly. I've seen plenty of wispy haired whites, who's hair won't grow past shoulder length. How fast and long hair grows is determined by mostly genetics and the rest by a person's health and how they take care of their hair. Contrary to what your ignorant, anti Black ass thinks, Black females hair does grow. If it didn't why back in the day, would we need to get a relaxer touch up every month for our new growth?
oh yeah, and why are people getting worked up about her saying 'look at my afro'? as for me, I so badly wish I had straight hair, and anytime I get a weave or a blowout, I definitely, do the straight hair 'whoosh whoosh' flip effect 😭
