This isn't surprising, she isn't ready for anything other than trot take it slow for her safety and progress!

Why was the fall blacked out?

It’s the messy moments that are needed to help the rider learn. You can see after the fall Sophie focused more on gettin Buddy to balance especially in the corners, this could also give her additional motivation to learn to use a deep seat, with the light seat if the horse trips you’d have a higher chance of going if the head since you’re already leaning forward, this could be the extra push Sophie needs to make her want to sit the canter so if something like this comes up again she’ll be in an already balanced position and will have an easier time staying on.

After the fall, I think those were the best canter I’ve ever seen Sophie ride. She actually tried to sit back and relax a little bit!!

This girl is not ready for a canter, she is not even ready for trotting poles, you need to work on balence before doing more, its kind of hard to fall when a horse just trips, hes going to fast because you kick every time he makes a sride. And your feert are wayyyy to far in the sturups. This is not trying ton be mean but really I advise you to take this advice.

Tricky situation because the horse is on the forehand so it would take an experienced rider to balance up and save themselves. Good for Sophie getting back on and being brave. I also think that maybe the indicator on the mane is helpful for Sophie as it's a physical point of reference to know where her hands are to be. I mean if that is what helps I would put a thing in the mane of whatever steed she's riding a good 4 to 6 inches from the withers.

I think Sophie needs to sit back more in the saddle and build her core more.

whats the point of making a video of a fall if you’re not gonna even show the fall

I hate to say it but it’s never the horses fault, at least not fully.

Once Sophie fell, she had the best canter I have ever seen. She was well deep seated probably prepare for if the horse fell again. That type of fall or trip, always makes my heart drop. But with other falls it doesn’t scare me as much. I love seeing Storm again, I definitely miss seeing him in every blog.

I think this is the best I've seen her ride. Amazing Sophie! Taking lessons on Brandon's horses have done wonders for her. She is sitting so much better and I like how they focused also on her hands today. After that fall she got right back on and started paying more attention to her riding. You can clearly see her improve so much after the fall. Good work!

Ok so this is the best I’ve seen Sophie ride in awhile. That fall definitely made her concentrate more on her riding. Buddy is a good horse to ride on because he is as forgiving and this will make her a better rider. Now a little trick I found having not a straight back and tending to lean forward was a shoulder/back support when you start falling out of position it pulls and releases as your posture corrects. This might help Sophie x

I don’t think that you can ever let go or forget about a sole or a heart horse. You have bonded with that horse and has had over years of memories together. You just feel connected to them, and that you won’t ever feel that way with another horse. That horse has been in your life for Once Sophie fell, she had the best canter I have ever seen. She was well deep seated probably prepare for if the horse fell again. That type of fall or trip, always makes my heart drop. But with other falls it doesn’t scare me as much. I love seeing Storm again, I definitely miss seeing him in every blog.

It wasn't the horse. She needs to sit up straight and shift her center of gravity (back). Makes all the difference in the world!

Man that literally happened to me last week. My horse wasn’t paying attention at all and when he went to canter he completely fell on his face. Luckily I thought he was about to buck because I saw his head go down so I sat back in my seat to brace 😂 didn’t fall! He regained his balance and was just fine thank the lord. It’s scary when it happens!

I’m so beyond impressed with how Sophie got up, no tears, got right back on and continued! I’m honestly so proud of her. Her confidence has improved DRASTICALLY in only a couple months, she’s an amazing rider. So proud of her❤️

This was what I was talking about in the other video about weighty riders not being able to balance properly, the horse new it that's why he wouldn't canter because Sophie is not and cant balance properly which means you cant keep the horse balanced and tripping up is the biggest sign of a horse thats struggling to balance.

Good for Sophie for getting back on after a fall. Any kind of fall can falter your confidence. The only thing I can say is maybe her balance and posture need work but that is gonna take time! She is doing great just by getting back on and she has come so far. ❤️

I read in a book that when George Morris had really handsy riders he would handcuff them. The parents would say well what happens if they fall off? And he would say, they’ll be forced to tuck and roll like they’re supposed to anyway
