I had done Tycondo since I was 7 and people that I had a match said that they would never do it again I don't know why though and I'm first in class and matching
I'm so stupid. I actually thought that whole "She ended up completely fine" was for the kicker. My thoughts literally were "Oh, glad her legs are fine", without even acknowledging the one who got kicked.
My sis was a 3rd degree blackbelt at 14 and she went another kid her age 😭😭 the other kid broke her arm and I was like wtf and my sis told me she was a movin target
@@dchung00I didn’t even know you could be a 3rd degree black belt at 14 that’s crazy impressive the highest I’ve ever seen was 7th degree but he was like 45 and I’m pretty sure he said it took him like 30 years to get there or something crazy
as a taekwondo black belt 3rd Dan holder, I've personally fought in competitions and lost due to opponents that were just far more skilled, let me tell you, those kicks, especially to the face hurts like hell and you'll definitely not be fine, I haven't taken one to the face before yet, since I've always been quick with my neck's movement, I was able to use the head guard to cushion the impact, but I've once hit my opponent with a kick with even more momentum than that and he was left bleeding from the nose for the whole session before the aid team checked him up
@@amab2738 nope it’s just a knock down a knock out is your straight unconscious you can clearly see the girl is still conscious meaning she just got a knock down and plus I do taekwondo too
@@Gracie_95 Random fun facts: girls are more flexible, have better physical endurance, have a higher life expectancy AND are better at surviving disastrous events like famines(seriously, I looked this all up. You can do that yourself if you want.).
@@ivoryas1696 You're right. It should be weapons plural. I'd love to see her branch out into other martial arts. With her natural ability and skill she has the potential to become a future UFC champion!!! 😁💪😁💪😁💪
As someone who practices taekwondo, that kick was brutal, probably disoriented her bad and her face is gonna be hurting for awhile. But at least girl who kicked probably got a gnarly amount of points for it.
@@haze7eyes163 No you are supposed to. In taekwondo that gets you points, especially for knockouts. All kicks aim for the head or chest in some capacity.
@@haze7eyes163 no, actually the more complicated the kick the more points you get, you just can’t punch to the face. That’s my problem because it’s my first response to throw a hook and I’ve suffered many a penalty😅
@@Mkhaim yea I’ve been doing taekwondo for 8 years and my school uses adjectives like front leg, back leg, reverse, or spin to describe different forms of the same kicks
If their physique are better a half way block won’t completely stop the back kick. Your leg, which is much stronger than your arm, in full power motion against a hurriedly blocking arm is like having a huge dude surprise tackling a guy half his size. Without head gear and mouth piece, that kick will do a lot of damage especially in a falling back position catching you in forward momentum for a strike.
Yeah i think she's fine. These types of kicks are often used in fights. I've been hit in the chin more than once and I'm doing fine. Moreover, there are lifeguards at TKD competitions(I used a translator)
power sure, accuracy maybe (she shouldnt have been going for that hit), FORM? that first kick was all choked up and weird. The people getting a boner for this have never put on gloves in their lives.
From personal experience, this is the quickest and most effective way to learn to keep your guard up. Nothing like a foot or fist flying at your face to improve your form.
Mister there is no defence against a well performed back kick. It is the most dangerous kick in martial arts. You can seriously injure or in the worst case kill your opponent!
that kick is one of the few you don't want to do in a fight(they are harder to get power into, if you miss you are screwed, and you are opening up your backside to your opponent which you do not want to do). the reason it is used in competition is because they are judged by technique and not usability
You barley show your back and of the person dose react to your back being to them and they try to strike there going to get kicked also you can easily change it into a roundhouse and if you doing a back kick you must be pretty good at taekwondo I don’t think you’d miss.
In my opinion, though I haven't done karate or any taekwondo (I dunno what this is), that kick leaves you vulnerable? Especially against a cautious fighter. Anything can happen in a *REAL* fight.
@@akaNorihime You are exactly right. You normally want to keep your back away from the opponent. this was a competition though so i assume it was judged by style so this was the reason of use for that kick in particular
I mean that kick managed to completely stay out of her opponents range while extending her own range with the jump into the kick and deliver a devastating blow. And the accuracy is impressive cause I’ve seen less accurate punches. There are only 3 ways to handle this attack and two involve having some idea it’s coming and a kick like that just isn’t common enough to randomly expect. But yeah you’d have to grab her leg and probably still get hit but with less force and throw her off balance or duck or have a hell of a quick back step (good luck outpacing that kick). You can also guard. One problem with the technique is because it’s an aerial kick it lacks leverage and loses power. The other is that if your opponent can deal with it you probably just handed them the win. It’s a risky kick. You wouldn’t see it a lot in real fighting. Also this kick has to hit the face to work most of the time. And people protect their face the most when fighting.
The ground at taekwondo competitions are somewhat soft plates that definitely absorb a good amount of energy compared to hard ground and that’s also what the helmet is for in tkd, it’s not so much for the kicks as it is in case you get knocked out and fall down, to protect the head from damage while hitting the floor!
She likely was penalized for excessive contact. Looked impressive and was and also lost her a point and brought her one more excessive contact accident closer to disqualification.
@@OwtkastMisfit Although it's a common martial art, this is mainly due to sport. They aren't nearly as effective as they look in an actual fight (not saying they are ineffective)
