Same. And it's disappointing when you spend years growing out your hair and keeping it healthy/not messing with it and someone asks you "is your hair real?". Thinking it is a wig or something. You put so much effort into having beautiful long hair and keeping ut looked after, yet other people who get wigs and weaves magically get the same compliments overnight that someone who spent ages working on their hair gets. I find it sad that this woman who spent years growing her hair out and keeping it healthy, people will look at her and just think it's a wig and won't even compliment it because so many black women cheat and wear wigs and get all other kinds of things glued in. The world is so fake now. Don't know why it bothers me but it does. To me it just seems like cheating.

Yes. I agree with you statement 100%. I tell people all the time that you don't need everyone in your hair.

@@KC-yl5zp I think the fakeness in beauty is outrageous at this point in time, especially when it comes to hair. Everything leans toward a universal standard of beauty and perfection and its idea is largely unattainable to most people naturally.

@@rendi8529 I know. I just wish everyone would come to a level of acceptance of who they are and stop trying to keep up with the Jones'. I believe in self care so keeping your hair, make up and attire in check is important, but not if it is hurting you financially or physically. That has just been in my headspace for the last couple of days.

My guess is because she doesn't damage it with chemicals, heat, etc to straighten it. I wish more of our women could understand the beauty and pride of our natural hair.

What I like is the way she rakes her fingers through the clients hair when its done. Showing the movement and shine and making the hair look not too 'done', which is the thing I always hated about getting my hair done at the salon. I would usually shake my head vigorously afterwards and then flip my hair back. It was always ok - testimony to a good hairdresser!

I think that is a great routine! Staying on top of trims is very important! I think cuz I too keep up w my trims is the reason why I do not run into fairy knots & I have lots of growth!

Take care of and treat your scalp. You can get dandruff from dirty combs, brushes and from salons.

You may need to see a dermatologist.
