She-Hulk Actress MELTSDOWN After Show Backlash

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law reviews for episode 7 are out, but when Jameela Jamil the actress who plays Titania in She-Hulk alongside Tatiana Maslany got criticised over Twitter, all hell let loose. Showcasing why customer service is so important in an MCU customer service facing roll, or rather, how not to do it. Comments and fan attacks like this can damage the whole marvel cinematic universe and every IP Marvel owns, so personally, it's not something I'd ever recommend. Especially if they still want fans to watch she-hulk into the season 1 finale.

You'd think that the She-Hulk cast would be grateful that anyone was left watching the show, or cared enough to comment on it. But apparently not when they go out and aggressively attack people who comment on it. Oh sure, she'll ALLOW you to talk to her, as long as you format it in the exact way she requires, oh and even then it'll come with a bite. It always amazes me how badly Hollywood will treat their customers, but what did you think of her comments? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

As a woman, I have to say that these people do represent a certain type of women, and that is "privileged women". No matter their colour and race, they are all privileged, narcissistic women who despite having any real or meaningful struggles in life, can get whatever they want. They do not represent me or a lot of other women. Most of us actually work for a living, and are not constantly obsessing over ourselves.

As a man I can tell you that you are defending toxic men. The only reason they don't like the show,I guess, is because it's led by a woman which it's not like it's the first show led by a woman. But I guess it's just so much female hate right now that's the way these men think. Personally I actually like the show and thought it was entertaining and sometimes funny. I don't need a laugh track to tell me when to laugh because unlike this guy I can make my own opinions. The fact that he says it has to be objectively good is ridiculous. nothing is objectively good you can't have objectively good or bad those are just opinions. If this guy can't understand that opinions are not objective then he's a fool. He's really so egotistical that he can't understand that sometimes people might like something that he doesn't or not like something that he does that his decision is somehow the basic law that everyone has to agree on, and he's the only one that's right. I mean if that's the way he thinks thenI I honestly can't understand his thinking. Then he says that the ratings were high is a lie because we know the show is not good cuz we've seen it. Well ratings aren't based on if the show is good they're based on what you watched it so that's why the ratings are high it doesn't matter if you hate watch it you're still watching it. So you just contradicted what you just said in the same sentence. Proving again that he is a fool which I can say from just a few minutes of this video I've seen. Also the actress didn't say anything mean or disrespectful or controversial all she did was advertise her show and say she was happy to be a part of it. She was just advertising her show that's all. Most actresses would do that.

I'm so glad you mentioned that one person can't represent an entire group of people. So often you see people say things like "well, I'm a woman and therefore I represent all women in this conversation." When in actuality just because you share a physical trait with a group of people doesn't mean everybody else in said group will feel the same exact way about things as you do.
@Syaniiti
@Syaniiti 2 года назад
A single person can represent an aspect of a group of people but not the people themselves and gender is one of the least important aspects of a person outside the bedroom. Well ok, there's some value in that I guess, but really not very much. It would be different if all these new women characters in entertainment would also be very diverse in their stories, but they're not. It's all the same story of "strong, perfect woman must break free of being held back by stupid evil men" or "strong, perfect woman discovers innate powers she never knew she had and must learn to control them". Agreed. Ironically in an age attempting to be non-racist or non-sexist they've made all the issues in their storytelling very limited in scope and forcing people into little boxes of their culture. There are stereotypes for a reason, because generally they are semi-true. We like to use them for humor in jokes but that doesn't make that racist necessarily. I'm just tired of seeing movies pushing an agenda more than they push a story, ruins the point of watching it every time. Either way, seeing people pushed into a box of "they believe this" or "they only do it this way" actually demeans people more than builds up those groups the stories are about. Hollywood is DESTROYING the identity of women all over the world by telling them how they are "supposed to feel" and "supposed to act". As seen here in She Hulk, what they say would make a bunch of rude, very selfish, unsacrificial women. That's a world that no man or woman wants to live in.

One of my favorite movies, and perhaps one of the best pro-LGBT movies to have ever been made, is "Man Of The Year" (the 1995 movie starring Dirk Shafer). It's a mockumentary where Shafer plays a fictional version of himself, and has to balance his personal life as a homosexual male with his job as a model for Playgirl. Not to spoil the movie, but it deals with important topics such as the false notion that "only a homosexual man would be truly kind to a woman, because he's not interested in her, sexually", which then means that homosexual men are "better men" than straight men, if it's straight men's nature to be self-serving jerks when dealing with women, because they ARE interested in them, as well as having to choose between doing what's popular and convenient for others and what makes you feel comfortable in your skin, even if it makes you unpopular with certain people. It does a great job of representing LGBT people, particularly gay men, and HUMANIZING them. Because while not all of us can relate to being gay or being male, specifically, we can all relate to being human. We can relate to the choice between being what others expect from us and therefore being liked by many, or being unapologetically ourselves and therefore being liked by the select few who are worth a seat at the table of our personal lives. The movie shows that gay men struggle with notions that straight men and women are not alien to, building a bridge between these groups by reminding us all of one great truth - we're all human. And as the old saying goes, "I'm human, and nothing human is alien to me". Maya Angelou used this quote precisely in regards to white people and people of color having a lot in common. The type of "representation" we see a lot of in movies nowadays does precisely the opposite. It treats these characters as a token of a particular group, an avatar that the viewer can relate to only if they have the same traits. Say, the character is a black woman. She is written in a way to only be related with by black women, or just women, or just black people - to anyone who isn't black and/or female...she might as well be an alien, a creature from another planet. It doesn't build a bridge, it builds a wall that has a door that says "Only black people, women or both simultaneously (in this particular example) can walk in - the rest should stay out". Instead of going it the "Man Of The Year" way where it says "This group of people and that group of people have a lot in common", it says "This one group or these select few groups of people have their unique particularities that other groups will never relate to or understand". It focuses on differences and alienating people from different groups, from one another, rather than focusing on similarities and bringing people from different groups closer to one another.

I happen to recall this same actress being critical of her own field not too long ago on Twitter (during the "global medical crisis of unspecified origin"), when she called herself and her fellow actors "useless" and vowed to quit acting, presumably to do something more productive with her life. At the time I applauded this, because it was a refreshingly mature stance for a Hollywood actress to take. Fast forward a year and a half later, and not only is she still acting, but she's embraced it to the point of becoming even more elitist than ever, having flipped to the polar opposite in terms of behavior and mindset. That doesn't sound normal or healthy to me...I think what this lady REALLY needs is help, big time.

I've always debunked the representation argument in the same way. Virtually no show or movie correctly mirrors the facets of an average person's life. Nor should it, it's escapism. It's relatable sure, but that's the point. Being able to relate and empathize with people regardless of their immutable characteristics is healthy, it used to be normal. You know who cant relate or empathize with anyone but themselves? Sociopaths. Narcissists. It's not behavior that's worth celebrating.

My thing is minority actors should get more work just because they need the work. @hittingyouoverthehead

@@samwallaceart288 I'm a minority (well according to US that is) but I'm a cinema and art lover first so for me, while I'd definitely love to see characters on screen sharing my day to day experiences, I'd much rather they write good stories and characters and say it well. The point that actors like Jameela probably is trying and failing to make is that more often than not, I've had to choose between the two. It'd be nice to see a really good movie/series with genuinely good writing and characters that I can relate to as well. And to be fair to her, that is indeed quite rare. That being said, I do understand that Hollywood movies are made for white audiences by white filmmakers so I'm not going to complain that most of the actors are white. I have my own film industry in my country which thankfully makes competent movies which are relatable.
@samwallaceart288
@samwallaceart288 2 года назад
@@hittingyouoverthehead Yeah that's a fair point. It is easy to take for granted. The flip side of that is that having too many samey "relatable loser" white characters misses out on the variety of other ideas. To me She-Hulk is just an evolution on Transformers' Sam Witwicky or Avatar Guy, bumbling around being a "relatable" child-person who fail upwards into not-being-in-prison having learned nothing. Meanwhile Samuel L. Jackson consistently shows up as solid characters who don't spend every 5 seconds bitching about their parents. That and he shouts a lot. But the first part too. There are some white leads who have character worth being invested in, but that has to be earned, like Nicholas Cage or Willem Defoe. The safe "hire a Chris Pratt type to be a normal normalman" is a truism that oughtta be retired already. Project a little; have some character. Guess I'm saying diversity is a good thing not only for representation, but also for purely selfish reasons in that more people in the fold means the safe-bet actors have to step up their game. Sure the market falls into reliable formulas for a reason; but every time the paradigm shifts it's because of cross-pollination. Hollywood's just festering on the same ideas they've had since the 80s and the smell is becoming a problem.

@@HerculesBallsInc Yes! A determined “victim“ can turn every situation into victimhood. They also love being offended on behalf of other “victims“ (usually complete strangers who put a video on social media) without ever asking the “victim” if they actually feel victimized, and if so, do they actually want the activist to speak on behalf of them. The whole purpose is to get the “victims” to the point where they oppress the “oppressors.” No definitions will ever be provided as they must be kept deliberately vague. If all they received was praise, they’d demand to get paid a lot more. They would “know” themselves to be better than anybody who has had even one criticism. They’d probably demand that they be able to choose not just their costars but also guest actors, and crew, cafeteria workers, etc. to make sure that they are woke enough.

I do think the actress is "representative" of entitled narcissistic Hollywood and the character on the show is representative of the writers, so yes sometimes individuals can be fairly representative of a group that is similar to them.

In general, between 12-26 months of age, children will use the pronouns I (to refer the themselves) and it. Between 27-30 months, children will acquire the pronouns my, me, mine, and you. Between 31-34 months, children will use your, she, he, your, and we. It is surprising that using a person's preferred pronouns is a challenge for some even as they get older than 34 months.

@@rockencook Why should people be obligated to that? The ones who didn‘t understand what pronouns are used for were the ones that played against the rules in the first place by coming up with this make belief pronoun nonsense. So why should anyone play by your self set rules? It‘s not up to you to decide if that counts as being friendly or not. You disrespected one norm, so don‘t expect yours to be respected. As a HUGE Marvel fan I really wanted to play the roll of Frog Woman, a re-gendering of Marvel's little known 'superhero' as a female HERoine instead of playing this villain Titania, who literally NEEDED a man for her creation, who is Victor Von Doom, and without that man she would not exist as a super-powered feminist "Hero" (or villain in the views of sexist men). She Hulk is clearly a racist show about the Triple OG Woman of Color, which is Green by the way. Martian Manhunter totally got sprung over She-Hulk when he first heard about her and her smooth rock hard, but smooth green skin. He even petitioned the DC Comic editor to move him to the 616 Marvel Universe. He was denied, and that day his green skin knew a new color: blue (only those with the mental powers of a green martian will get that). Not since Hawkman lost Hawkwoman had someone lost their perfect mate.
