Sandi, I owe you a HUGE thank you for all the time and effort you have put into your videos. I have learned so much from your videos! The experiences you share are always in the back of my mind, but never so much as this past weekend. We've been raising Katahdin sheep for the last 4 years. Saturday evening, my favorite ewe (Gracie) went into labor. She normally has no issues lambing but it was taking way too long with no progress, so I knew something was wrong. When I was finally able to check her, I realized the lamb was coming backwards. It was also stillborn. :( Took quite a while to get it pulled out. Immediately, she started having a second one but by then Mama was too exhausted to push so I pulled her out as well. Luckily, she was alive (named Miracle now). I was finally able to get Gracie under shelter so she could clean off baby, etc. I was exhausted and ready to go in, but then I remembered what you say, "Always, always, always check for another." Well, it was a good thing I did because indeed there was another. She was still too tired to push, so after another exhausting pull, Joy entered the world shortly before midnight. Mama and the two girls are doing great! If it had not been for your experiences, I wouldn't have had any idea what to look for, what to do, or how to help Gracie through her lambing. My muscles are still aching from the experience, but I am so thankful I still have my favorite ewe and her two little girls. Had it not been for you, the story would have ended so differently. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing what you have learned (both what to do and what not to do). I'm forever in your debt.

I’m already getting excited even though the first Lambing for 2023 isn’t for about 7 more weeks. Oh my goodness! Willow is going to be the cutest and best mommy and I can’t wait to see her babies. Sandi, I’m Praying you have great catch rates for the ewes so you’ll have a very productive lambing in 4 months?!!

My mom was left a widow when she was 40 years old with a farm, 10 milking cows and 5 kids to manage. She said that until she got a job in town and sold the cows she felt like she was married to the farm. She left the farm only one time during all the years I was growing up. You two are so smart to create a little getaway. When you're in walking proximity of things that need to be worked on/with, you feel like you can't ever get away. What a fabulous idea and such beautiful surroundings. Good job Mark and Sandi!
