After this series had such an excellent precedent of lesbian content, I was unsure that you could do the kiss justice, but that legitimately felt like the dramatic gay climax this crack series deserved. While yes, Adora went to Prime’s spaceship to pick Catra up (even after she said to stay away) and she wound up already being under his control (etc., etc.), this is following Adora taking Shadow Mom’s words at face value and taking the first opportunity she could to basically bind a magic nuke _defuser_ to herself, aware she was at risk of dying to use it. Or to take the context out of it, Adora’s willing to jump in the lion’s den to get Catra out, and then dives right back in _by herself_ when other options were available, _especially_ if that thing where she “maybe” revived Beau and Catra from death is accurate. From the other side of it, Catra didn’t hesitate to save Adora when she popped a ‘firetrap’, and before that, wised up from plotting self-imposed exile on the trip away from Prime’s ship. She even provided an alternative to Adora getting the thing stuck to her before she went and did it (which, considering SW went and blazed up anyway, would have accounted for a risk of impending doom to begin with). Or to shorthand that a bit, Catra’s shown herself willing to compromise and stop shooting herself in the foot, and then Adora decides to invent Russian Roulette with a half-loaded magic revolver.
