Absolute BS💩. I just went to jury duty for my county and over 50% of the people in the jury pool were over 70. There is NO age limit for jury duty where I live. You can get a doctor's note to get out of it but they are very strict. There were canes and wheelchairs all over. I'm guessing youre a young dumb kid who doesn't know crap about jury duty across states and has NEVER even been in a pool. Some states do have age limits where you can just refuse to be called but not everywhere. Know what your talking about before running your mouth.

an older woman serving on a big trial kept falling asleep. She didn't look like she'd understand any of it or care. Silly being there. The jury are carefully vetted. They excuse many people for all sorts of things. When I was called I was asked if I had any daughters. It was a r**e trial. Wasn't chosen. I have 3. My daughter was asked if she had any children under age of 12. She was dismissed from sitting on child abuse case but picked for theft case. Not just any 12 of your peers chosen.I really wanted to be on jury too.

I doubt it’ll work Unless you’re over a certain age and have back issues with sitting (Doc’s note required) or serious bathroom issues (Doc’s note required), or some other disability.

Instead, a jury nowadays is told that they MUST apply the law - something that is utterly false. This ancient power of a jury has nearly been eliminated in the USA.

You better hope you don't get a bunch of "indifferent" people sitting in that jury box if you ever end up in court. The last jury duty I had was about a citizen making threats online to a sitting United States senator. It was three weeks long. I've always been picked. Always. This was my third trial. They asked me what my thoughts were on the last trial. I said, " After re-explaining the judges' rules to the millinealls and informing them there were no latte' or phone breaks, everything went very well." When the judge,the defense attorney and prosecutor stopped laughing, the judge said, raise your right hand juror #6.

Jury duty should be everybody’s thing!!! it means you are a part of this society, and you have got paternity to bring justice to a situation according to all of the evidence presented! And you also have the opportunity to correct an injustice as well! Don’t let other people make this society unbalanced with their biased opinions, but be one of those citizens that actually cares about justice in this world and jury duty as one of those places where you can prove and act upon it!

If you are 70 or older, you can just say you don't want to do it. You are no longer required to at that time. You still can, you just don't have to.

In my area, you can be exempted from jury duty if you are 70 years old or older. So I think she looks like she would qualify for exemption due to her age.

ITS NOT A DEMOCRACY!!!! That right there shows the younger generation has been brain washed. It is a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC. A democracy does not have a constitution to protect us from crazy laws made up by government. Thats why they don't like the constitution nowadays because they want to make an enforce their own laws on us but the constitution stops them. You'll even hear the news and people in government calling it a democracy to brain wash people. Yeah. Its worked on you!

My husband was called for jury duty once for a woman accused of killing her husband. When he got home and told me why he was rejected I couldn't believe he wasn't arrested. According to him, when he was questioned if there was any reason he couldn't serve, he said, and I'm quoting him word for word " yes, I don't know if she was abused or something and he might have deserved it." He was silenced immediately by the prosecution and dismissed. Has never been called sense, and that was 20 years ago.

The fact that they dismissed him for admitting he could be an impartial juror demonstrates their corruption. Also, why would he be arrested for that?

I was 30 years old when I had to go to jury duty for the first time. When they asked why any of us could not be a juror, I said "Because I don't want to be here." They let me go. Lol

I had Jury Duty in College, when I told my Professor that I had to leave to go to Jury Duty. He told me that in his Thirty years of teaching he never heard of such a bad excuse to leave. Then I showed him the paperwork. Then he went "Oh, go do your civic duty."

Jurors should have 2years of law training, psychological evaluation (due to prejudices and biases) because a innocent person could be held in jail and life ruin.

I called for my elderly dad (70+ at the time) to be dismissed from serving on jury duty. My dad was so worried that he'd be in trouble if he didn't go. I just took a chance in getting him out of it. We were successfully getting him out of it. Senior citizens rock.

I got chosen for jury duty 30 years ago. I told them that I am incapable of making any judgment, because I feel like everyone is guilty. I’ve never gotten another jury duty notice.
