I think that horn was an old powder horn. Hunters kept their gun powder in them. The little holes were for a carry strap. At least that's my best guess.

Amazing how you always find incredible things! The goodwills near us, in Southern California, are filled with nothing but over priced junk. As a long time thrift store enthusiast, I’ve seen a steady decline in the quality of inventory. While overall prices have soared. The days of real deals are gone.

Teaching the wee girl the family business ❤❤❤ My parents used to take me antiquing with them starting when I was quite young. I was permitted to go off to explore and dig. It's probably why I have a pretty good "eye" now (found 3 vintage iron Japanese Kewpie duck figures yesterday for $14)and why I love to thrift.

That thing you thought was a bird, I think is a horn and the hole you thought was a birds eye is where a string would to on each end. I think!!
