“Boredom is a choice. It’s not that there aren’t things to do; you’re choosing not to go do them.”
Today, I’m joined by Angela Pugh to talk about boredom in sobriety. After bartending her way across Hollywood and Beverly Hills, Angela was in over her head with a drinking problem that was relentless. She got sober in 2006 and dedicated her life to helping others do the same. Angela has spent the last 15 years working in addiction/recovery as an Interventionist and trainer and now serves as a Master Life Coach, host of the nationally-ranked Addiction Unlimited Podcast, national speaker, entrepreneur, and author of Powerless and Powerful: A Guided Recovery Journal.
Chapters:
00:00 - Bartending in Hollywood and Beverly Hills
02:31 - Rock Bottom and Decision to Get Sober
07:41 - Experience with AA and Sobriety
11:03 - Transition to Kansas City and Lessons Learned
18:58 - Commitment to Recovery and Work in Addiction

Just celebrated 30 years of continuous sobriety, and being a part of the fellowship has been the greatest adventure of my life! "To watch people recover, to see them help others, to watch loneliness vanish, to see a fellowship grow up about you, to have a host of friends"..."THIS IS AN EXPERIENCE YOU MUST NOT MISS"! ✌❤ Mark

I have tried getting sober many times. Trying again now. I loved drinking and couldn't see life any other way. I was a punk rock musician living in a bar apartment. I loved nightlife to death. Everything changed after i became medically allergic to beer . True story. After that i got sicker and sicker until i wanted to sober up. Life on life's terms. Not life without limits. That's my mantra now. Im glad you sobered up too .

I am curious as to why the sober houses are just for men. Having more than one too, opens up a opportunity to help women who also could use these services.
