I’m a Caucasian grandma with straight hair but I just love watching you take such good care of your clients! I was in awe at what you did with this clients hair and she looks really amazing! 🤩 I also love listening to your serene calm voice as you explain everything you’re doing.
That look of relief on her face at the end...I love that you can bring ppl so much comfort after what was surely a stressful and uncomfortable cut at the last salon.
Wow! At first glance I thought that hair was too damaged to salvage and giving her a buzz cut was the only option. What a great job you did! I hope she appreciated it and didn't mind the lack of bangs which I actually think works well for her.. The color is very rich too.
Your client is beautiful. You brought a smile to her face. I’m a long pixie girl for the moment and enjoy watching others get short styles. You of course are a great stylist. I like how you allowed her to have the bangs she wanted.
This video shows one of the most challenging hair clients a cosmetologist could get in terms of coming in with damaged hair that's short and also needs straightening. OMG, what a miracle worker :)!
This lady knows what she's doing! That hair looked beyond repair. I'm not an African American, and I've got to admire the amount of work you go through to achieve such a great look.
That smile at the end says "Girl, you nailed it." Very flattering style for her face. Really impressed with the precision shaping and framing around her face especially. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
It’s amazing what a great hair experience can do. You could tell the client was feeling down at the beginning but her smile at the end was beautiful. X
Great recovery for your client! When doing a short tapered cut, always mold down the sides & back. It depends on the style if the whole heads needs to be molded. Great work. Thanks 💜
Wow, your knowledge and skill are impressive. I am so glad you were able to give her the cut she wanted, I know how disappointing it is to get a bad cut that leaves you worse off than before you started!
This is a trick question: Skipping the mold depends on what style the client requested. There are some styles that may not require molding (i.e. ol skool scrunchies). Final result of her style/color were amazing!
Absolutely astounded at your talent. How you could cut the hair and then the molding step had everything right where it needed to be! I would have been trimming and measuring and checking a hundred times to make sure it would all line up!
Omg she looked absolutely beautiful..and the fact you could style it so Stunningly and that it would last while she grew it and then have a style she really wanted was like a dream come true.. It worries me that so many women can't wait and so decide on a wig. Like men eventually you get bald patches. But with treatment and no more hats or wigs they should see beautiful results. Xxxxxxx
I really like your attitude and demeanor. You don't put anyone down and are very empathetic. Getting a new hairstyle is such a big move! I'm white with thin, fine hair and it's neat to see the differences in the texture and approach to caring for our hair. Thanks!
I am so impressed with your work and attention to detail. Don’t know how I ended up here but I really enjoyed watching you work. I am fascinated by the amount of work it takes to do hair for African Americans. Great job!
Hello! As a stylist myself, I like how you explained the previous stylist didn’t cut enough off. I think it’s important to not speak negatively of other stylists. Your client looked relaxed, relieved, and satisfied after you fixed the style! You asked a trivia question; regardless of weather or not you are dealing with long, or short hair….molding is your foundation! Always important!
I love watching your channel, it’s so relaxing and informative. As a natural blue eyed blond who never uses any dyes or harsh chemicals on her hair, I have still learned so much from your videos. The people who have their problems solved be you must be so thankful. I did take your suggestion of using silk for your nightly hair wrap although I purchased a silk pillowcase. I was using 1000 count Egyptian cotton and had a problem was dry hair. Not so much now. ❤️🇨🇦
WOW! That is gorgeous! The cut suits her. The color is beautiful and the volume on top is the icing on the cake! You put a lot of care and thought into your work. ❤
I had a style like this when I was 23. I'd never gone that short before but it looked great on me. I have white hair but I had body and curl so it worked. I looked like I'd lost 20 lbs between before and after pics. I was a new mother too. I'd like to do it again as my hair is thinner, less volume and I'm 51 now. Love this style on her and watching you work your gift and explain as well.
I keep watching these, I find these so relaxing. I knew that women of color and their curly hair isn’t the easiest to maintain/style. I like that give some background tips about the past! You are doing great and keep me interested 🙃
Same. I never realized how much goes into textured hair. Then I started watching these videos and I am seriously in awe of the skill and sheer talent. And I also understand why many Black women use wigs/extensions.
@@amandaparkeradams7965 yeah indeed! I’m a white women with straight hair, it’s long and thick so it takes some time to care for it and style it but it doesn’t come close to women with textured hair! And then all the toxic beauty standards doesn’t help either. But I love a women who takes cares of herself. Whether it’s a pony or a bun every day or a new style every month, just do you boo! 🥰 and dont care what others or the beauty standards say! 🙏🏻
@@amandaparkeradams7965 CORRECTION: wigs and extensions are used as a means of a different "STYLE or LOOK". We don't wear wigs or extensions "in place of" DOING OR NOT DOING OUR HAIR"....??🥴 Think about it THIS WAY... white women wear wigs/extensions as well....it's just a different look...not meant to AVOID doing the hair....(it's ok...just here to educate)... and actually we've had this hair for years so WE know how to care for and style it with ease...😉
@Amanda Parker Adams: For Black women it has always been about variety & versatility when it comes to how we style our hair, as every Black woman is an individual. Some PREFER wearing it in its Natural State, I.e. Afro, while others prefer Braids, Wigs, Dreds, you name it. And what is soooo amazing about Black hair is that we have sooooo many options....the possibilities are endless! That's the one thing, of many, that Black folks are coveted for....their HAIR, along with their Natural skin color, and FULL Lips. I always thought it interesting how Blacks are discriminated against for those same attributes, and yet when white ppl have "color" on their skin or "braids" in their hair suddenly it's HIP, COOL, and accepted. Which proves to me that Racists hate people of color because they don't have it themselves. They sure do go through great lengths to resemble a group of ppl they deem inferior. Just Sayin'🤔
I’m a retired stylist and I can see how dedicated you are to doing the best work. You are amazing I wish you could do my hair. 😉 I know nothing about relaxers so I can’t answer your trivia question.
Just watched the "She wanted a short cut" video. What a stunning hairstyle! It looks so great on your already-gorgeous client. I've always said that Stylists have golden fingers. 🌿🌺
I am a white woman and all I can say is wow. Beautiful hair cut!! I wear my hair in a pixie also and wish I could get an amazing cut like you gave. Beautiful job 😊❤️
So nice and pretty. I love your work. When I was in Beauty School almost 50 years ago I shocked my instructor because I wasn’t afraid to do the really short cuts and so I had regular clients right away. I also did the older ladies and we figured once that the median age of my ladies was 86 so it was great to be able to do for them what they really wanted.
You did an amazing job on this woman, and I thought you were great not saying out loud what a shitty job someone had done to her. You just jumped right in there got control of the situation and made this woman feel she was beautiful. First time seeing your videos, loved it.
I love watching these videos!! I always said I should have been a stylist as I’ve never had my hair colored at a salon and I cut my own hair for 30+ years. This stylist did an amazing job on this woman’s hair it turned out simply gorgeous!!! I love listening to her tell her story as she did her magic!!! First time seeing this video and I’m going to subscribe and check out some more. It’s relaxing to me!! 💕😊💕
Another fantastic job Crystal! I had a patient yesterday who was upset about her hair so I referred her to your channel. You give a lot of good advice. She believes she has alopecia and was sent to a dermatologist but I know you have some tips for that. I wrote your channel down for her and she said she’s definitely going to come and see what kind of help you can give her. Have a blessed day everyone!!
All that dye still in her hair coming out on the wrap foam will damage her hair further. It would have been nice if the she counseled client to get a cut and style this time and give her hair a break. Stylist created giant bald spot in the back. That dye is gonna get on everything!!!
I agree 👍 💯. I felt like the client likes having a bang because she's trying to cover her forehead. Everyone doesn't like their forehead/face exposed/out. I would have requested put in a track or clip in there. Also, that cow lick bald spot could have been avoided by both stylist. The 1st unknown stylist f'd it up, but I wouldn't have wanted it cut lower. Although it was an issue. #js #myopinion
@@chysel4860 We've been saying it for years. This is just another example of a stylist trying to make the hair look good, never mind it's damaged - and they add more chemicals more color on top of chemicals on top of color, and this woman is barely hanging on the 2 pieces of hair. It's shameful.
I’m gonna say it every time. Servicing clients with wrap strips on your head is unprofessional. You should do services on yourself on your own time not the clients’. It’s not a good look whether the clients care or not. It’s about professionalism, character, and work ethic.
You guys are professionals, top of the line! The mold is going to set the style and the mold will make it easier for the client to get her look right, when she does her hair everyday. For 20 years I've had the same hair stylist and thank goodness I'm a tad older than he. It's good to watch a professional at work 👏🏽👏👏🏻
