I would agree with you in normal conditions. However, she was in a new country, and she was eager to work. She was fully aware of the situation. Her mistake was to do extra stuff without being asked.

This was my experience with my first job as a nanny. I ended up quitting over text after being unnecessarily lectured by the mother. She begged me to come back a week later and I ignored her. I've had other jobs since, but jobs were finding me eventually. But I definitely recognized when I was dealing with someone who was going to give me the same issues. I was definitely afraid of losing that first job! It started with watching the child, to be asked to only speak and teach a second language, top it off house keeping was slowly added on. And gor very little money! But I'm glad I at least took some valuable lessons from it. Thanks for sharing and talking about this topic.
